  • Patent number: 5591219
Abstract: A radiation device for therapeutic use in the human body allows the application of light waves to an affected area of the body. A bulb, preferrably a xenon bulb, produces light which is passed through a lens module having silicon and carbon granules therein. By applying different lenses to the device, a variation in the wavelengths of light and radiation applied to an area is achieved. The device has a pistol-like housing to allow for controlled application of the radiation.

  • Patent number: 5577736
Abstract: A team game utilizing electrically powered cars and a pair of targets has an electrified floor to supply power to the cars. Two teams of players attempt to score as many points as possible. Each player drives one car around the floor area, positioning themselves in range to shoot at a multiple holed target or goal. The cars are capable of precise movement due to the joystick control and processor connected thereto, and the control it has over the movement of a hydrostatic transmission. This gives the car a movement controllable as to speed and direction, including the ability to stop and reverse directions without repositioning of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5572917
Abstract: An apparatus for perforating corrugated tubing is disclosed. The apparatus receives tubing to be perforated along an axial path coincident with the axis of the tubing. A plurality of feeder-cutter wheels drive the tubing through the apparatus and concurrently perforate the tubing in the valley of its corrugations. Each feeder-cutter wheel, and the drive shaft each wheel is mounted upon, is offset at an angle relative to the axial path, this angling facilitating uniform perforations at higher speeds. An alternate embodiment of the apparatus has six feeder-cutter wheels disposed within four distinct planes. This design permits the wheels to be interchangeable with different wheels, allowing the apparatus to perforate tubing of different diameters. The alternate embodiment also offsets the wheels at an angle to facilitate perforation at high speeds than previously known in perforating apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5574651
Abstract: A system and method for machining muntin sections and seating bars for assembly into muntin lattices using machines that notch and crimp the muntin sections and a device that pierces the seating bars. The notching machine has a notching device that forms notches in the muntin section. The crimping machine has a crimping device that forms dimples in a portion of the notched muntin sections. The piercing machine has a piercing device which forms apertures in the seating bar to receive muntin section keepers. The crimped muntin sections are assembled to the non-crimped muntin sections to create the pattern for the lattice with the dimples locking the muntin sections together. The assembled muntin sections are assembled to the seating bars using the keepers to produce an assembled lattice which is inserted between or upon glass panes of a door or window.

  • Patent number: 5570127
Abstract: A passenger vehicle video recording system for recording passengers on a passenger vehicle as well as passing traffic. The preferred embodiment of the passenger vehicle video recording system includes two video cameras wherein one video camera is mounted to the rearview mirror of the passenger vehicle and the other camera is mounted to the side of the vehicle. The system additionally includes a video recorder, the video recorder located inside the passenger vehicle. A switching signal determines which of the two video cameras is in communication with the video recorder so as to view passengers on the passenger vehicle and passing traffic.

  • Patent number: 5566871
Abstract: A cushioning device for use with a shoulder strap or the like to distribute the load on the shoulder of the user comprises essentially a planar member having at least a central pocket formed therein in which is disposed a cushioning member and a fluid filled member. The fluid filled member, which is preferably an air filled bubble-type sheet acts as a load distribution device for distributing the load ordinarily placed upon the shoulder of the user. The device is formed from a soft, pliant material which can be folded back upon itself and which is locked together through a hook and loop fastener or similar locking device. The device hereof is particularly advantageous for use with shoulder straps associated with suitcases, briefcases, valises and similar totes.

  • Patent number: 5560163
Abstract: A device for interconnecting drainage conduits that have been stabilized while forming building footings includes an annular disk and a cylindrical hub extending outwardly from and about the opening. A stop formed in the hub limits the insertion of the drain tile. A nub on the cylindrical hub prevents lateral movement of the device when the footing forms are removed. Breakaway fasteners are used to hold the device to the footing form. Drainage connectors interconnect with other conduit and connectors connected to other devices to form a network for routing moisture to a desired located.
