Abstract: A semiconductor single crystal manufacturing apparatus which can manufacture a single crystal of high oxygen concentration to that of low oxygen concentration within a prescribed standard range of oxygen concentration, as a wafer material for semiconductor integrated circuits, with a high yield, is provided. Heat shields 20, 21 are provided in the entire annular area between respective adjacent heaters of the heaters 4a, 4b, 4c for heating the crucible 3 from the outside periphery side. By using the heat shields 20, 21 for localizing the respective heating regions for the heaters to actively control the temperature distribution for the crucible 3 and melt 8 in the crucible, a single crystal of high oxygen concentration to that of low oxygen concentration can be manufactured within a prescribed standard range of oxygen concentration with a high yield.

Abstract: A computer-implemented process of developing a person-level cost model for forecasting future costs attributable to claims from members of a book of business, where person-level data are available for a substantial portion of the members of the book of business for an actual underwriting period, and the forecast of interest is for a policy period is disclosed. The process uses development universe data comprising person-level enrollment data, historical base period health care claims data and historical next period claim amount data for a statistically meaningful number of individuals. The process also provides at least one claim-based risk factor for each historical base period claim based on the claim code associated with the health care claim and provides at least one enrollment-based risk factor based on the enrollment data.
Abstract: A panel antenna is provided having one or more radiating elements and a series of directors associated with each radiating element. Each series of directors is angled with respect to a direction of maximum radiation of the associated radiating element, in order to tilt the panel antenna beam. The directors may be dimensioned and/or arranged such that they couple weakly to radiation of a wavelength emitted by the associated radiating element. The method includes the steps of detecting receipt of a call from a client of the organization through an interface of the private computer network of the organization with a public communication network, determining a type of the received call, spawning a routing process based upon the determined type of call and routing the call to an agent of the plurality of agents based upon the type of call and the spawned routing process.

Abstract: The method for manufacturing a single crystal semiconductor achieves an object to reduce the impurity concentration nonuniformity within a semiconductor wafer plane and thus to improve the wafer planarity by introducing an impurity into the single crystal semiconductor more uniformly during the pulling of the single crystal semiconductor from a melt. In the course of pulling the single crystal semiconductor (6), the rotating velocity (?2) of the single crystal semiconductor (6) being pulled is adjusted to a predetermined value or higher, and a magnetic field having a strength in a predetermined range is applied to the melt (5). Particularly, the crystal peripheral velocity is adjusted to 0.126 m/sec or higher, and M/V1/3 is adjusted to 35.5?M/V1/3?61.3. More desirably, the crystal peripheral velocity is adjusted to 0.141 m/sec or higher, and M/V1/3 is adjusted to 40.3?M/V1/3?56.4.
Abstract: A detector of combustion products in air gaps adjacent to chimneys or flues has an air gap detection unit coupled to a displaced control unit. The control unit can be located adjacent to a proximal, exposed, surface of a wall. When so installed, the detection unit is located in an air space adjacent to the chimney or flue. Abstract: A computer program product is described for solving the traveling salesman problem in polynomial time. The probability distribution of the space of all paths is modeled in a configurational density distribution. A Hamiltonian is constructed specifying the costs, distance, or penalty associated with different legs of paths encompassed in the configurational density distribution. Starting at a maximum temperature where free energy dominates and the penalty function plays little role, the system is iteratively adapted to reduce the temperature in steps incrementally chosen to preserve the linear characteristic of the approximation, until a lower temperature state of reduced energy is reached in which a preferred set of paths can be identified from the configurational density distribution.
