  • Patent number: 4773331
Abstract: Increasingly greater requirements as concerns mechanical strength and gas tightness are placed upon the connection between the sabot tail or rear portion and the sabot jacket of a sabot projectile. To improve such connection the invention provides a circumferential groove at the sabot tail or rear portion, this circumferential groove having side walls extending essentially parallel to one another and inclined forwardly with respect to the lengthwise axis of the projectile at an angle of about 75.degree.. The rear end of the sabot jacket protrudes into such circumferential groove.

  • Patent number: 4773209
Abstract: The method of, and apparatus for, producing a yarn uses a friction spinning device comprising a perforated first friction spinning drum and a second friction spinning drum which can also be perforated. Two fiber feed passages project to the first friction spinning drum and are each supplied by opening assemblies which individualize or individually separate the fibers. The fibers are transported toward the first friction spinning drum using a feed air stream in the fiber feed passages. This feed air stream is produced by the first friction spinning drum which is maintained under sub-pressure. Advantageously, the fiber double-feed to the friction spinning drum permits supplying two different fiber types to the same yarn end. Also, different inclinations of the fibers at the friction spinning drum can be obtained by different inclinations of the fiber feed passages in order to produce yarns of different character.

  • Patent number: 4770745
Abstract: The front wall and support arrangement is shaped as a stiff support structure extending across the entire machine width above a slice chamber. The support structure is deformed due to its inherent weight and because of the pressures and temperatures prevailing in the slice chamber. To counteract these deformation effects the support structure is supported by a support carrier of about the same length as the support structure. To attain a substantially lower structural height, the support carrier is arranged relative to the support structure such that an intermediate space prevails between the lower wall of the support structure and the support carrier. This intermediate space accommodates force-generating support elements. Each of the force-generating support elements is provided for only a portion of the surface or area to be supported in the intermediate space.

  • Patent number: 4769973
Abstract: The printed products arriving in an imbricated formation are wound up into wound product packages or coils each having a substantially horizontally disposed longitudinal axis. These wound products packages possess a predetermined size and an inherent stability which permit them to be transported and intermediately stored such that their longitudinal axes extend substantially vertically without the wound product packages disintegrating or unraveling. After forming the wound product packages they are transferred from a standing position into a reclining or reposing position by means of a package turning device. In this reclining or reposing position the longitudinal axes of the wound product packages extend substantially vertically. These wound product packages are supported only at their circumference or are only held at their winding cores and are not supported in any further manner.

  • Patent number: 4769839
Abstract: A method and arrangement for transmitting data in a data loop comprising at least two stations and at least one of which is an overriding master station in which a transmission frame for the data to be transmitted is generated for transmission through all successive stations. Each transmission frame is generated with a predetermined constant number of clock cycles and contains exclusively the data to be transmitted from one station to one or more others and is devoid of protocol signals, especially devoid of address signals. Each transmission frame is immediately followed by the beginning of a further identical transmission frame containing the next data to be transmitted, if any. Time slots, preferably mutually equally great time slots, in the transmission frame are permanently or temporally modifiably allocated to the individual stations for information or data transfer before entering each transmission frame into the data loop.

  • Patent number: 4768768
Abstract: The winding core mounted to be rotatable and removable in a mobile storage unit, is placed into rotation by means of a drive roll which engages at the outer surface or circumference of the widing core or, as the case may be, the wound product package forming thereupon. In the mobile storage unit there is likewise removably arranged a winding band spool or reel which is also driven at its outer surface or circumference. For this purpose there is likewise provided a driven drive roll. By virtue of such circumferential drives for the winding core and, as the case may be, the wound product package, and equally the winding band spool or reel the mobile storage units can be of simple construction. This also enables the mounting or support arrangement for the winding core and the mounting or support arrangement for the winding band spool or reel to be structured such that the winding core and the winding band spool can be easily removed from the related mobile storage unit.

  • Patent number: 4768443
Abstract: The working apparatus, useful as a cleaning apparatus for textile machines, comprises a mobile servicing or working unit possessing a ventilator cooperating with air guide elements and operates in cleaning zones located at these textile machines. The servicing unit is movable on a track or rails. A stationary drive motor provides the relatively high power drive for the travel motion of the servicing unit along the track and for the ventilator by means of an endless belt trained over transmission members arranged at the servicing unit. These transmission members each contain different size coaxially arranged pulleys. By changing the position of one strand or run of the belt from a smaller size to a larger size pulley and vice-versa, the direction of movement of the travelling servicing unit can be selectively reversed. The movement of the servicing unit is monitored by a control device arranged at the servicing unit with the aid of terminal or limit switches and sensors.

  • Patent number: 4763910
Abstract: This device prevents individual components of a load from being thrown off during halting of a conveying vehicle at a high rate of deceleration. A blocking device for the suspension of the caster which instantly assumes a front position as viewed in the direction of travel, prevents the vehicle from forwardly and downwardly dipping about the axle of the center-mounted drive wheels. The blocking device automatically adjusts itself corresponding to the direction of motion. A sliding stop vertically displaceably mounted on a pivotable part of a caster arrangement and a stop component fixedly mounted on the vehicle body cooperate to block the suspension of this front caster when the front caster experiences a predetermined degree of suspension displacement. At the caster instantly assuming the rear position, the stop component and the sliding stop are positioned at 180.degree. to one another, thus precluding inadvertent engagement and permitting full suspension displacement.

  • Patent number: 4759421
Abstract: The industrial truck or vehicle comprises a support body or member supporting an elevatable platform. The support body is supported and guided on both ends by a respective transverse pivot joint of a respective driving module or unit. The width of the support body and the platform is narrower than the width of the two driving units. This narrowing or reduction in width of the industrial vehicle ensures that the complete platform region on both longitudinal sides of the industrial vehicle is manually accessible despite providing good lateral vehicle stability. Furthermore, the torsional elasticity of the support body is increased such that the support body in combination with the transverse pivot joints provide sufficient travel surface adhesion or floor traction of all drive wheels and support or free-running wheels even over irregular or uneven travel surfaces.
