  • Patent number: 4953443
Abstract: The device comprises three rotational axes (7, 8, 9), whereby the first (7) and the second (8), counted from the axis of the target directed body, constitute a classical laying axis system, and a third rotational axis (9) between this laying axis system and the base support (5) of the device allows this laying system to pivot to a singularity axis, such that the device can carry out the laying movements thereof with adequate angular distance from its singularity, and whereby the first (7) and the third (9) rotational axis are spaced from one another by a distance (A), in order that there can be aimed without hindrance beyond a housing (10) in which the necessary auxiliary installations are accommodated.

  • Patent number: 4952056
Abstract: The method relates to determining the autocollimation angle of a grating coupler comprising a thin waveguiding film and a diffraction grating. A laser beam is approximately normally directed to the diffraction grating which is mounted at a turntable. The turntable is movable in positive and negative rotational directions through small angles of rotation by a lever arm which is engaged by a micrometer screw driven by a stepping motor until the incoupling condition is satisfied for excitation of a waveguiding mode in the forward and rearward propagation directions in the waveguiding film. The autocollimation angle is determined as the mean value of the two angles of incidence for resonance excitation of the waveguiding modes in the waveguiding film under the incoupling condition.

  • Patent number: 4951456
Abstract: The cap of a cap spinning device comprises a thread introduction attachment in the top or upper region of the cap. In this thread introduction attachment there is arranged an inlet passage which is upwardly directed at an inclination and provided for the thread coming from the drafting arrangement via a thread eye, so that a balloon is formed between the thread eye and the top or upper side of the cap.

  • Patent number: 4951547
Abstract: During delivery of ammunition to a firing weapon from an ammunition magazine, in which the ammunition is arranged in an endless storage and conveyor chain, high acceleration forces occur, since the entire ammunition supply in the ammunition magazine must be accelerated to the required infeed velocity in the shortest possible time. In order to maintain as small as possible these acceleration forces in the ammunition magazine, the endless storage and conveyor chain is telescopically structured according to the invention, so that not all cartridges in the ammunition magazine have to be simultaneously accelerated.

  • Patent number: 4952874
Abstract: The position-reading system for machine-tool parts rotatable through 360.degree. renders possible accurate position determination by using a scale although there is present a measuring gap. This is achieved by the use of two reading units angularly offset at a predetermined angle with respect to one another and by the use of an indicating unit which contains evalution and switch-over means. These evaluation and switch-over means evalute the output signals of the two reading units and switch, on the one hand, one reading unit, upon passage thereat of the measuring gap, to become position-reading inactive and, on the other hand, the other reading unit to become position-reading active, such other reading unit taking over the corresponding momentary position value or reading.

  • Patent number: 4947521
Abstract: The combing machine comprises a nipper unit possessing a bottom nipper and a top nipper which is pivotable relative to the bottom nipper about a pivot axle. An additional nipper is pivotable relative to the bottom nipper about a shaft or journal which extends at a suitable distance from and substantially parallel to the pivot axle of the top nipper. The additional nipper is coupled to the top nipper by means of at least one link. In this manner, pivoting movements of the top nipper cause the additional nipper to be pivoted each time in the opposite direction with respect to the direction of motion of the bottom nipper. When the nipper unit is in an advanced end position, the top nipper is open and the additional nipper is closed. The additional nipper firmly holds the lap, and a tuft combed out of the latter is detached by a detaching roll. No separate pivot drive is required for the additional nipper.

  • Patent number: 4947522
Abstract: The stationary flat of a card or carding machine having mounting flanges arranged at end surfaces of a carding cylinder is mounted at these mounting flanges by means of spring clips. Each spring clip is constructed as a resilient element comprising a radially extending first limb or leg mounted at the associated mounting flange and a second limb or leg which is bent away at an angle with respect to the first limb or leg, partially extends over the associated stationary flat and bears thereupon.

  • Patent number: 4944033
Abstract: An installation comprises two rows of closely adjacent material processing stations and a data-processing system to monitor and/or control the material-processing stations. The installation also has a travelling unit or tender to service the material-processing stations. The tender has a send-receive unit and each material-processing station has a corresponding send-receive unit so that information can pass between the data-processing system and the tender by way of the material-processing stations.

  • Patent number: 4939325
Abstract: In the stepping or indexing drive of a character drum having secured thereat a pinion, wherein there is provided an actuation plunger for rotary motion of the pinion in the one direction and another actuation plunger for rotary motion of the pinion in the other direction, there must be prevented that the character drum while rotating from one index position to the next can be stopped and remain in an intermediate position between two index positions. For this purpose, there is provided a movable locking or detent element which coacts with both actuation plungers and with inclined surfaces formed at the switch housing. This locking or detent element is brought by each individual actuation plunger, at the start of its actuating path, into a locking position for the other actuation plunger and retained in this locking position to positively prevent simultaneous actuation of both actuation plungers.

  • Patent number: 4934133
Abstract: To improve the efficiency of a rotating air layer produced by an air injection nozzle and rotating in a substantially cylindrical space, the rotating air layer being intended to rotate a twisted fiber structure introduced through an inlet duct, there is provided a tube extension at the inlet duct. This tube extension forms a guide for the air flow injected tangentially and at an inclination by the air injection nozzle with respect to the direction of travel of the twisted fiber structure. As a result of this guide, the rotating air layer can form before it engages or contacts the twisted fiber structure. As a result there is increased the rotation of the engaged twisted fiber structure per unit length thereof, resulting in increased strength of the twisted fiber structure and the yarn ultimately produced therefrom with low air consumption.

  • Patent number: 4935823
Abstract: The method and apparatus permits processing, for example, editing or synchronizing data sequences without using special marking devices and marking tracks for identifying preselected locations. For this purpose, a preselected partial data sequence is formed from a predetermined data sequence and serves as a reference partial data sequence. Such reference partial data sequence is utilized as a basis for comparison with further partial data sequences originating from the same or different data sequences for retrieving or identifying operations in connection with, for example, the joining, inserting or synchronizing of data sequences.
