  • Patent number: 4928896
Abstract: A yarn guide member is driven by an entrainment member in a predetermined direction of movement of a belt run of a belt with which there is connected the entrainment member. In a stroke reversal zone the entrainment member is reversed in its movement by the belt moving around a reversing roller and there is thus released the yarn guide member from entraining engagement by the entrainment member. The yarn guide member, while then in so-to-speak free flight, strikes a housing wall operative as an impact wall. The yarn guide member thus changes its traversing direction. After having impacted the impact wall the yarn guide member returns to the entrainment vicinity of the entrainment member which in the meantime has begun its movement along the belt run now located opposite to the first mentioned belt run as the entrainment member rotates around the reversing roller.

  • Patent number: 4922702
Abstract: The slubbing stopping device comprises a movable part having a magnet and a fixed part having a magnet. One of these magnets is an electromagnet and the other a permanent magnet. The movable and fixed parts can assume an operating position in readiness for clamping the elongate or rope-like fiber material which may be constituted by a silver, roving or slubbing or the like. These movable and fixed parts, when in the operating position, are connected by the magnetic field of the permanent magnet. An electrical energy supply delivers electrical energy to the electromagnet so that the movable and fixed parts can be separated from one another and the movable part assumes a slubbing clamping position. The electrical energy supply powers the electromagnet such that the permanent magnet and the electromagnet, which previously adhered to one another by magnetic attraction, are repelled so as to separate the permanent magnet and electromagnet from one another.

  • Patent number: 4913031
Abstract: In the case of weapon barrels which are only secured at one of their ends at the weapon housing during firing of the weapon there occurs, particularly during series firing, bending vibrations or oscillations which impair the hit probability of the fired projectiles. In order to preclude or at least dampen such bending vibrations of the weapon barrel the invention contemplates securing a vibration damping device or damper at the muzzle of the weapon barrel. This vibration damper comprises an inertia body which is resiliently connected with the weapon barrel muzzle. Also provided is a brake device which dampens the movement of the inertia body relative to the weapon barrel. The inertia body preferably comprises two ring members which are pressed by springs against two disc members which are rigidly attached to the weapon barrel muzzle. Between the weapon barrel and the ring members of the inertia body there are arranged resilient elements, such as blade or leaf springs.

  • Patent number: 4909900
Abstract: The bleaching chemicals are added to the pulp immediately after heating of the raw pulp thickened to more than 20% by weight and immediately prior to a dispersing process. This is carried out in a high-speed, high-efficiency disperser, where the heated, thickened pulp is forced through a plurality of narrow slits in a disperser lining and is exposed to strong shearing, impact and kneading stresses. In this way, the dispersing process is reduced to a time period less than 3 seconds, preferably about 1 second or less. As a result, the total time required for reductive bleaching is reduced to less than 15 seconds and no further measures are required for displacing and excluding air from the system. The method can also be advantageously used with oxidative bleaching at reduced reaction time requirements. A high dispersing temperature in the region of 40.degree. C. to 110.degree. C., preferably about 95.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 4908771
Abstract: In order to adaptively determine the original pulse widths of individual pulses of the pulse signal, there are measured the pulse widths of the distorted pulses. A predetermined number of threshold values is preset for such measured pulse widths. The preset threshold values define classes of pulse widths intended to contain pulse widths of pulses which originally had the same pulse widths. The matching between the measured pulse widths and the preset threshold values is improved by means of a statistical evaluation of the measured pulse widths. The apparatus for carrying out the aforementioned method comprises a unit or circuit for measuring the pulse widths of the individual pulses, a unit or circuit for statistically evaluating the measured pulse widths and a unit or circuit for processing the measured pulse widths.
