  • Patent number: 4502462
Abstract: The present invention is a vertically loaded wood-burning stove in which the wood stands on end and burns only on the lower end, sliding down into the combustion zone as it is consumed. The wood-burning chamber is air tight with the exception of unobstructed air inlets at the bottom of the chamber. The hot combustion gases pass from the combustion chamber through unobstructed air passageways to a second combustion chamber which is vertically arranged and spaced from the first combustion chamber to form an unobstructed secondary air inlet which provides pre-heated air to the second combustion chamber.

  • Patent number: 4489946
Abstract: The board game consists of a central, geometrically shaped goal area with rectangular playing surfaces extending from each side of the goal area. A single tortuous path extends outwardly from the center along each of the rectangular playing surfaces. The shapes of the spaces that comprise the tortuous path are identical to the shape of the goal area. The game also utilizes multi-sided dice having faces which correspond in shape to the shape of the goal area. The playing pieces used in the game are similarly shaped. The game board is hingedly constructed so that when not in use, it can be folded into a three-dimensional box that is then used to store the playing pieces and dice. The game also includes a cover for the folded box. The cover is used during the play of the game to shake and roll the dice.

  • Patent number: 4365619
Abstract: An integrated system for the collection, storage, and utilization of solar energy in the heating and cooling of buildings utilizing a moist air cycle involving evaporation and condensation of water vapor at constant pressure to obtain the advantages of high heat capacity, resulting from phase change, and low mass flow rate. Supersaturated moist air is circulated through solar collectors where evaporation takes place; the coolant leaving the solar collectors in a saturated condition and returning to a hot storage tank. There the coolant flows across the surface of hot stored water where condensation takes place, and thereafter leaves the hot storage tank in a saturated condition and at a temperature only slightly above that of the stored water. The hot storage tank further includes floating heat exchanger means for heating water in the portable water supply system.
