Abstract: A radiation protective garment and radiation protective garment shoulder supports for use with a radiation protective garment are disclosed having at least one stay member which transfers all the weight of the garment off the wearer's shoulders to the waist/pelvic area of the wearer by means of a support belt securely positioned around the lower portions of the stay member(s) located at the waist area of the wearer. Such stay member(s) can be disposed internally within the radiation protective garment or worn under such garment.
Abstract: A radiation protective garment incorporating radiation resistant material is disclosed having two sturdy internal stay members which transfer all the weight of the garment off the wearer's shoulders to the waist/pelvic area of the wearer by a support belt securely positioned around the lower portions of the stay members located at the waist area of the wearer.
Abstract: A section insulator for securing adjoining overhead contact wires for use by electric vehicles having a current collector, such section insulator including structural members to prevent destructive arcing caused by the passage of the current collector thereover. The structural members include first and second tension beams with replaceable arc shields mounted thereon, an adjustable center runner which can be lowered to compensate for wear, and arcing horns of a configuration to aid in the dissipation of electric arcs away from the structural members.
Abstract: A hanging chair which includes a substantially rectangular primary frame having a seat portion pivotally connected to a back portion and a sheet of material stretched between and attached to the frame for supporting a user in a reclined, seated position is disclosed. The hanging chair also includes a hanger bar having a cam cleat attachment which adjustably secures the hanger bar to a chair support cord which attaches to an overhead support. The cam cleat attachment allows the vertical position of the hanger bar and the chair to be adjusted along the chair support cord. In addition, in one embodiment, first and second side support cords are attached to the frame and are hung from the hanger bar with pulleys which allow the side support cords to slide on the hanger bar, thereby adjusting the incline of the frame.
Abstract: A method and structure for analysis of the size and/or distribution of low-density particles by centrifugal sedimentation in a centrifuge chamber containing a fluid where the particles to be tested are delivered to the bottom of the centrifuge chamber and allowed to float upwards in the higher density fluid within the centrifuge chamber to be analyzed.
Abstract: A palette dispenser having an aperture in the center thereof in which aperture is attached the nozzle of a container of paste-like or viscous material which material is squeezed out of the container through the nozzle and onto a palette base. In its storage mode a cover member is positioned over the aperture with downward pressure to flatten the material and spread it toward or beyond the outer edge of the cover member to form a layer of such material under or around the cover member for preventing the drying of the remaining material under the cover member near the aperture in the palette base. Supports are provided to dispose the palette base at various angles. Further embodiments of the dispenser can accommodate a plurality of containers of material and provide an enlarged mixing area of the palette base.
Abstract: A submersive therapy apparatus which includes a tub filled with an aqueous solution adapted to provide physiotherapy and drug treatment to the body or body parts of a patient, such as the hands, arms, feet or knees, such aqueous environment containing a medicated fluid and/or other liquid medium. An array of stationary ultrasonic acoustic transducers are arrayed within the walls of the tub which are connected to movable ultrasound heads. The ultrasound heads are exposed on the surface of the inner tub walls to concentrate ultrasound energy on a body part target area. Additionally and alternatively to the delivery of ultrasound energy, rows of electrodes and coils are arranged around all sides of the inner walls or panels of the tub in alternating positive or negative polarities to deliver an electric current and/or provide an electromagnetic field.
Abstract: A temperature-indicating device for use with a barrier having a first side and an opposite second side, the device including a temperature sensitive means located at the first side of the barrier, a thermal conductor for transferring heat from the second side of the barrier to the temperature sensitive means, and a temperature indicator disposed on the first side of the barrier, the temperature indicator for indicating on the first side of the barrier a change in temperature occurring on the second side of the barrier.

Abstract: A training device for golf putting, said device being removably securable to a golf putter having a putter face and vertically disposed shaft, said device comprising:clamping means for removably securing said teaching device in a generally horizontally plane, said alignment member including an elongate portion for longitudinally axial alignment with a longitudinal axis of the putter face;elongated flexible guide means secured to said elongate portion of said alignment member for guiding a golf ball to a target; andmeans for tensioning said guide means and maintaining tension on said guide means from said alignment member to the target during a stroke of the putter.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for detecting and analyzing the parameters of the dispersion pattern of the spray plume from the orifice of a spray device or nozzle utilizing an electro-optical device having at least one television camera positioned to detect the image of a gas plume from the spray device or nozzle, such image created by the gas plume's different index of refraction from the index of refraction of the air surrounding it with such image formed by having collimated light passed through the spray plume onto a screen which is positioned before the television camera.
Abstract: The device this invention is an alignment device for stapling multiple sheets of paper having a base member with a horizontally disposed stop member, a vertically disposed stop member and an aperture defined in the upper left-hand corner of the base member for receipt of a stapler to be disposed with its anvil under the upper left-hand corners of the sheets to be manually aligned against both stop members for the stapling of the aligned sheets of paper.
Abstract: A method of creating a hollow sphere within a chamber including the steps of depositing a coating on a conductive fluid spherical mass at zero gravity, solidifying the coating, and removing the interior conductive fluid mass from the sphere to form a hollow sphere. In alternate embodiments the hollow sphere can be formed from, or coated with, a polymer.
Abstract: A moving mirror apparatus for scanning a light beam, such apparatus having a mirror associated with a support member able to be repulsed by a superconductor, the mirror/support member being suspended above a superconductive material with a plurality of field coils positioned around the periphery of the support member, each of the field coils being independently operable to attract the support member to cause quick, frictionless movement of the mirror to reflect the light beam to different positions, depending upon which of the field coils is activated, by attraction of the support member to the activated field coil overcoming the repulsion of the superconductive material. The apparatus can be contained within a transparent vacuum chamber in certain embodiments and can in other embodiments have independent beam movement in conjunction with the reflection of the beam by the mirror.
Abstract: A breast pack for providing warm or cold therapy to the female breast is disclosed. The breast pack can be formed of a generally C-shaped or semicircular top layer and bottom layer, each having a central opening, which layers are joined along their perimeter edges to define a pocket therebetween which is filled with a thermal gel material. The breast pack, when heated or cooled, retains such heat or coolness for a long period of time. In use, the breast pack is formed into a conical shape by overlapping its ends and adjusted to the size and contour of the user's breast. The breast pack can be retained in position within the user's bra. A central opening in the C-shaped breast pack accommodates the nipple area of the user's breast.
Abstract: A system for the storage and retrieval of pairs of boots utilizing a plurality of chutes, each having a diamond-shape cross section, with the chutes arranged in a honeycomb fashion, each chute having a carriage assembly disposed along the length of its inner apex. A plurality of hangers are provided, each having a pair of upwardly extending arms on which such pairs of boots can be mounted upside down with the hanger slideably and removably engaged to the carriage assembly. The chutes are disposed at a downward angle so that a pair of boots mounted on a hanger entered from the rear end of a chute will advance by gravity toward the front end of the chute where it can be removed when needed. An optional heating unit can be disposed on the bottom of each chute to speed up the drying time of the boots if such boots are wet.
