  • Patent number: 4432354
Abstract: A portable chamber for enclosing a portion of the body for treatment with oxygen or other gas at pressures slightly above atmospheric and the control circuits for operating the chamber are disclosed. In its basic configuration, the chamber of the invention is designed to enclose a portion of the body, such as a leg or arm, but can be enlarged to enclose the entire body, except the head of the patient. In its basic design, the chamber of this invention is constructed in two parts that mate to form the chamber. When mated, one end of the chamber is closed and the other end is open to receive the part of the body being treated. The open end contains a sleeve that encircles the body part being treated to form an air tight seal. A gasket arrangement is provided to seal the two parts when mated. The control circuits or elements are fluidic elements. These fluidic elements are housed in a control box and coupled to the chamber by means of appropriate couplers mounted on the closed end of the chamber.

Abstract: Apparatus for use in playing a hand swat ball game, the apparatus including four upstanding end court supports forming the four corners of a rectangular playing court where the length is twice the width. A pair of upstanding mid court supports divides the playing court into two equal and square playing areas. A backboard is affixed to the tops of the six supports and is generally coextensive therewith. A ricochet bar extends between each pair of end and mid court supports. An end ricochet bar extends between each pair of end court supports. A center ricochet bar extends between the pair of mid court supports. All ricochet bars are equispaced downwardly from the backboard. With at least one player in each playing area, a player in a first play area serves the ball by striking it by hand to drive the ball through a fair play zone into the second play area. • Patent number: 4344394
Abstract: Method and apparatus for producing intense, consistent swirl and air-fuel-E.G.R.-vorticity charge uniformity without any net penalty in engine power, volumetric efficiency, or pumping work. Method and apparatus permit optimal swirl and turbulence for flame stability and fuel economy throughout the R.P.M.-load phase space of engine operation. Method and apparatus require no substantial changes in combustion chamber shape or basic engine structure. For spark fired engines, the method and apparatus permits operation at air-fuel-E.G.R.-intake manifold vacuum combinations having excellent fuel consumption characteristics combined with very low emissions of CO, HC, and NO. For diesel engines, the method and apparatus permits optimized swirl without the volumetric efficiency and pumping work penalties accepted with present art swirl inducing techniques.
