  • Patent number: 8220225
Abstract: A capping chuck assembly embodying the present invention comprises an outer chuck housing, and inner, central guide disc upon which a plurality of circumferentially spaced gripper segments are mounted. Each gripper segment includes an inner jaw portion for engagement with an associated closure, and an outer cam surface. The outer chuck housing defines a plurality of inwardly facing, cam drive surfaces positioned for respective engagement with the outer cam surfaces of the gripper segments, so that rotational drive of the outer chuck housing collectively drives the gripper segments and guide disc to urge the segments radially into engagement with an associated closure.

  • Patent number: 8210577
Abstract: The combination of a) a first tubular element with a first axis, a first portion with a radially outwardly facing surface and a first connecting assembly with a first circumferentially facing surface and b) a second tubular element with a second portion with a second axis, a radially inwardly facing surface, and a second connecting assembly with a second circumferentially facing surface. The first portion is extendable within the second portion. The first and second tubular elements are movable around the first and second axes between a) a first relative rotational position and b) a second relative rotational position such that the first and second connecting assemblies cooperate to draw the first and second portions axially towards each other and the first and second circumferentially facing surfaces confront each other to thereby block relative movement back into the first relative rotational position.

  • Patent number: 8202609
Abstract: An absorbent material for use in a disposable absorbent product exhibiting enhanced wet strength characteristics includes a blend of cellulosic fibrous material and superabsorbent polymeric material, with a wax applied to the blend in a preferably discontinuous or non-uniform distribution for enhancing wet strength characteristics of the material, without unacceptably diminishing its absorbency. Notably, the absorbent material includes regions of relatively high densification, which can exist about particles of superabsorbent material, with application of wax in a molten form resulting in the spontaneous flow and migration of the wax to the regions of higher densification. The material can be formed with a pattern of regions of relatively high and low densification, with the wax preferentially distributed in those regions of high densification.

  • Patent number: 8195518
Abstract: A server acts as the hub of a collaborative commerce system. Suppliers of goods or services self publish information to the hub. Buyers are able to query the hub for product and service availability, price etc. Buyers are able to integrate real time multi product and multi service orders from multiple suppliers, carriers and field serve providers and thus secure available goods as well as the delivery and installation of those goods from the records available on the hub. Once an order is complete to the buyer's satisfaction, the order is transmitted to the hub. The hub then transmits the appropriate information to the relevant suppliers, carriers and installers as required. The system also provides for a system of virtual partitioning of a supplier's inventory.
