Abstract: The invention is to provide an isolated transgenic mammalian neural cell, which comprises at least one heterologous vector expressing AhR/ARNT. Also provided is methods the detection of a sample containing a chemical substance damage to the nervous system and the selection of drugs for treating neurodegenerative disorders.
Abstract: A document feeding mechanism includes a frame, a document picking means positioned in the frame for picking up and conveying a document, a stopper means positioned in the frame for blocking the conveyance of the document, a supporting portion cooperating with the stopper means for supporting the document picking up means while the document picking up means is raised at a predetermined level, and a blocking portion restricting a rotatable angle of the stopper means for blocking the conveyance of the document while the document picking up means is raised at the predetermined level. The document feeding means is kept at the predetermined level via the cooperation of the supporting portion and the stopper means for supporting the document feeding means. Since, the document feeding mechanism has high reliability to resist shake and crash for preventing the document picking up means from being drooped.

Abstract: A method of fabricating a CMOS device having high-k dielectric layer and metal gate electrode is provided. First, an isolation structure is formed in a substrate to define a first-type and a second-type MOS regions; an interfacial layer and a high-k dielectric layer are sequentially formed over the substrate; a first and a second cover layers are respectively formed over a portion of the high-k dielectric layer at the first-type MOS region and another portion of the high-k dielectric layer at the second-type MOS region; afterwards, an in-situ etching step is performed to sequentially etch the first and second cover layers using a first etching solution and to etch both the high-k dielectric layer and the interfacial layer using a second etching solution until the substrate is exposed. Wherein, the second etching solution is a mixed etching solution containing the first etching solution.

Abstract: A method for preparing chitosan nanoparticles in water phase is provided. The method comprises the following steps: (a) providing a chitosan solution having a concentration of about 0.05 w/v % to about 1 w/v %, (b) adding water first and then followed by acetic anhydride to the chitosan solution to carry out acetylation, wherein the concentration of acetic anhydride is from about 10 v/v % to about 30 v/v % of the total volume of the whole solution, and (c) subjecting the solution from step (b) to physical dispersion.

Abstract: A trench-typed power MOS transistor comprises a trench-typed gate area, which includes a gate conductor and an isolation layer. A thin sidewall region of the isolation layer is formed between the gate conductor and a well region. A thick sidewall region of the isolation layer is formed between the gate conductor and a double diffusion region. A thick bottom region of the isolation layer is formed between the gate conductor and a deep well region.
Abstract: An image processing and controlling system is provided in the present invention. In addition to adjusting the image displaying modes according to the ergonomic look-up table, the present invention is further capable of adjusting the weighting value with respect to each image characteristic value of an initial image according to lighting characteristics of an ambient light system such that a display unit can provide the most comfortable viewing conditions and the best image quality under different ambient lighting characteristics. In another embodiment, the present invention further functions to control the ambient light system according to the image characteristics of the weighted output image. By means of the foregoing dual controlling ways, the image processing and controlling system may provide appropriate output images corresponding to different viewing scenario and conforming to the requirement of output quality.

The first device is disposed on the substrate and including a first upper electrode and a first lower electrode disposed between the first upper electrode and the substrate. Abstract: A present liquid crystal display includes three frames, two side fasten trellises, and a plurality of tenons used to fasten the three frames and the two side fasten trellises. Each frame has a plurality of clips. The clips of at least one frame have at least one fasten component. Each side fasten trellis has grooves and second fasten portions. The tenons snap into the grooves and conjunct with the clips to assemble the three frames and the side fasten trellises, the fasten component coordinates with the second fasten portion.
Abstract: An exemplary switching power supply circuit includes a transformer, a switching control circuit, a DC-DC converter, and a signal selecting circuit. The transformer converts a DC voltage into a first DC voltage and a second DC voltage. The switching control circuit controls a current flowing on the transformer for generating the first DC voltage and the second DC voltage. The DC-DC converter converts the first DC voltage or the second DC voltage into a third DC voltage. The signal selecting circuit selects the first DC voltage or the second DC voltage for the DC-DC converter to generate the third DC voltage.
Abstract: A method of fabrication of a metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor is disclosed. At first, a substrate on which a gate structure is formed is provided. Afterward, a portion of the substrate is removed to form a first recess in the substrate at both ends of the gate structure. Additionally, a source/drain extension layer is deposited in the first recess and a plurality of spacers are formed at both ends of the gate structure. Subsequently, a portion of the source/drain extension and the substrate are removed to form a second recess in the source/drain extension and a portion of the substrate outside of the spacer. In addition, a source/drain layer is deposited in the second recess. Because the source/drain extension and the source/drain layer have specific materials and structures, short channel effect is improved and the efficiency of the metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor is improved.
Abstract: A method for detecting radar signals comprises the steps of: receiving signals detected by a master device; receiving signals detected by a slave device; detecting radar pulses from the signals received by the master device; detecting radar pulses from the signals received by the slave device; and determining radar signals by combining the radar pulses detected by the master device and slave device.

Abstract: A delay cell for use in a ring oscillator and associated method is provided. The delay cell includes a differential amplifier, a switched capacitance bank, and a Kvco equalizer. The differential amplifier comprises a differential pair, a first load and a second load. The differential pair includes a positive input terminal, a negative input terminal, a positive output terminal, and a negative output terminal. The first load is coupled to the positive output terminal, and the second load is coupled to the negative output terminal. The switched capacitance bank has a plurality of controlled capacitor paths selectively connecting to the positive output terminal or the negative output terminal according to a capacitance controlling signal. The Kvco equalizer has an adjustable current source for providing a current to the Kvco equalizer according to a current controlling signal to compensate currents flowing through the first load and the second load.
Abstract: A focusing member and an optoelectronic device having the same are provided. The focusing member includes multiple levels of conductive plugs and multiple levels of conductive layers that together form an inversed half-boat shape. The optoelectronic device includes a bottom layer, an optical waveguide above the bottom layer, a dielectric layer covering the optical waveguide, and the above focusing member disposed at an edge of the optoelectronic device and located in the dielectric layer above the optical waveguide. A wider end of the inversed half-boat shape of the focusing member faces the outside of the optoelectronic device. The refractive indexes of the bottom layer and the dielectric layer are smaller than that of the optical waveguide.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a composite with thermo-formability, a method for making the same and a method for making a casing with a texture on the surface thereof. The composite includes a polyurethane medium layer, a thermo-formable resin layer, a base layer and a surface layer. The thermo-formable resin layer is disposed on the polyurethane medium layer, and includes polyol. The base layer is disposed on the thermo-formable resin layer. The surface layer is disposed on the base layer. As a result, the composite has good stability after thermoforming, and plastic can be injected into the composite, so a PC film is unnecessary. Moreover, the composite may be adhered to a substrate directly or after thermoforming.
