Abstract: A stackable bakery tray which can be stacked upon an identical bakery tray to provide three levels of storage for bake goods. An identical upper tray can slide on rails of a lower tray when the upper tray and lower tray are each oriented in the same direction and when one tray is orientated 180° from the other tray. Two of the side walls are mirror images of each other and include extending feet and complementary level portions and openings so that extending feet of an upper tray matingly fit within either appropriate level portions or openings of lower tray. End extending feet can pivot within their appropriate level portions or openings to blendly stack and unstack the upper tray to and from the lower tray.
Abstract: A concentric slave cylinder for use in a clutch actuator in which the housing of the slave cylinder is a two-part construction with one of the members having an injection molded polymer member. In one embodiment, both the inner and outer cylindrical members forming the annular chamber for the piston are formed as injection molded polymer members; in a second embodiment, the outer cylindrical member is formed as an injection molded polymer member and the inner cylindrical member is formed as a cold formed steel member; and in a third embodiment, the inner cylindrical member is formed as an injection molded polymer member and the outer member is formed as a cold formed steel member. The use of injection molded members reduces the cost of the housing assembly and the use of a two-part construction allows the provision of a small annular chamber for receipt of the piston.

Abstract: An accumulating conveyor system has an improved carrier assembly and delatching dog therefor which allows the carrier assembly to be orientated along a carrier path in any angle relative to the ground. On a three rail conveyor system, a pallet beam is slidingly connected to the two outer rails. A beaver tail carrier is centrally located on and connected to the pallet beam. The center rail carries a moveable chain having delatching dogs attached thereon at predetermined locations. The delatching dogs are releasably connectable to the beaver tail carrier and function to maintain connection with the beaver tail carrier in any angle along the conveyor path relative to the ground by means of a spring mechanism until an encounter with another beaver tail carrier.

Abstract: An elongated multi-layer tubing is disclosed for connection to a motor vehicle system to handle fluids containing hydrocarbons. The tubing includes a first layer disposed radially innermost and having an inner surface capable of prolonged exposure to a fluid containing hydrocarbons and an outer surface spaced a first predetermined radial thickness from the inner surface, the first layer consisting essentially of an extrudable, melt-processible thermoplastic. The tubing also includes a second layer having a second predetermined radial thickness at most equal to the thickness of the first layer. The second layer is uniformly and homogeneously connected to or bonded to the first layer and consists essentially of an extrudable, melt-processible thermoplastic capable of sufficiently permanent laminar adhesion with the first layer to prevent delamination during a desired lifetime of the tubing. At least one of the first and second layers is resistant to permeation by hydrocarbons.

Abstract: A framing system and framing device for assembling and welding a body-in-white. The framing system utilizes completely separate framing and welding operations, which are typically intermixed in conventional framing systems. The framing device is a unitary frame structure within which an underbody, side frames and other body components can each be supported and accurately positioned with respect to each other prior to the welding operation. The framing device includes a cart which serves as the base and main support for the framing device, and an upper body support member. Using an appropriate number of clamping devices, the net positions of the body components which constitute the body-in-white are properly established and maintained, such that gate fixtures are unnecessary during the welding operation.
Abstract: A shot sleeve assembly for moving molten metal into a mold cavity. The assembly includes an elongated horizontal shot sleeve; an injection piston slidably mounted in the bore of the shot sleeve; and an annular cooling cell positioned over the end of the sleeve adapted to be positioned proximate the mold cavity. The cooling cell defines a continuous coolant passage extending from a coolant inlet to a coolant outlet. The passage has a selectively varying axial width so that the passage may present more surface area in surrounding relation to an upper circumferential region of the sleeve bore than to a lower circumferential region of the sleeve bore whereby to maximize cooling of the upper region of the bore and minimize cooling of the lower region of the bore.
Abstract: A smart module circuit board carries a programmable microprocessor and a plurality of relay type interface circuits for use in organizing relatively high voltage input devices and output devices into a complex system wherein a programmed combination of input device signals determines when and if to energize one or more output devices in the system. The interface circuit comprises input and output stages which operate on logic level voltages and which are decoupled by opto-couplers from a relatively high voltage energization circuit which passes through a relatively high voltage electrical device. The energization circuit comprises a triac which is operated by the output stage in response to outputs from the microprocessor, a manual switch connected in parallel with the triac so that a given electrical load device can be manually activated and a multi-colored LED for indicating the conditions of the input and output circuits individually and in combination.

Abstract: A quick connector for connecting fluid lines includes a first connector having a housing for receiving a spool carrying conduit. The spool sealingly engages an endform on the conduit. At least one seal element and a retainer ring are pre-mounted in a bore in the housing and engage the spool to form a seal between the inner surface of the bore in the housing and the spool and to retain the spool in a fully inserted position in the housing. A method of assembling the quick connector is disclosed in which a stuffer pin is preassembled with the retainer ring mounted at a compressed diameter within a retaining collar on one end of the stuffer pin and the seal element mounted the stuffer pin. The stuffer pin is inserted into the bore in the housing until the seal element snaps into one groove in the bore and the retainer ring engages another groove in the bore in the housing.
Abstract: A two- or a one-step process and composition which coats metal workpiece surfaces (aluminum, copper, steel, stainless steel, etc.) with a thin lubricant film capable of allowing the metal to be deformed at room temperature. The lubricant consists essentially of polymers, dispersants, high molecular weight waxes and insoluble metallic stearates. With some ferrous surfaces, a separate coating layer is simultaneously formed (in the one-step process) or pre-formed (in the two-step process) at the metal interface, acting as a base for the lubricant. The process, after pickling in a mineral acid to remove scale and oxides, comprises the step(s) of immersing the workpiece either once or twice. The workpiece is then dried in a heated, forced air dryer.

Abstract: A process for preparing a mold used for producing, for example, high resilience polyurethane foamed articles, comprises the step of spraying an aqueous release compound on the inner, article-contacting surface of the mold, the release compound including: an aqueous carrier; and a release agent which forms a release film on the article-contacting surface, wherein the release film is formed by evaporating a majority of the aqueous carrier. An aqueous rinse solution is gently sprayed on the inner mold surface after formation of the release film. The rinse solution, now carrying residual water, emulsifier(s) and/or contaminants, is mechanically removed via an air entrainment device before significant evaporation of the rinse solution has taken place.
