Abstract: A machine-learning engine is disclosed that is configured to recognize and learn behaviors, as well as to identify and distinguish between normal and abnormal behavior within a scene, by analyzing movements and/or activities (or absence of such) over time. The machine-learning engine may be configured to evaluate a sequence of primitive events and associated kinematic data generated for an object depicted in a sequence of video frames and a related vector representation. The vector representation is generated from a primitive event symbol stream and a phase space symbol stream, and the streams describe actions of the objects depicted in the sequence of video frames.

Abstract: Computer-implemented tool boxes and related methods are described. An exemplar computer-implemented method includes: (1) displaying a representation of template 3-D shape of an object for design on a device having a touch-sensitive display, the object for design having one or more modifiable features; (2) selecting a feature for modification by detecting a touch gesture input that comprises the touch of a finger or a pointing device on the relevant part of the image displayed on the touch-sensitive display; (3) modifying the feature once selected by repeated touch gestures on the relevant part of the image, wherein the touch gestures are used to select one of colour, size of any of the x,y,z dimensions, shape, radius, any other size related dimension, shape, orientation or position with respect to other objects; and (4) visually displaying the options available for selection in relation to one of colour, size, shape, orientation or position.
Abstract: A method for treating a substrate with a volatile liquid, crop-preservative formulation includes transporting a predetermined quantity of the formulation from a reservoir to an injection device and applying the predetermined quantity to the substrate. The substrate may thereafter be in proximity to a crop to be treated by the vapor from the formulation. The substrate is most conveniently a portion of a container in which the crop is stored or shipped.

The first signals are each indicating a same bit of retransmission information and the second signals are each indicating a same bit of information other than retransmission information. The OFDM signal transmission apparatus further includes a transmitting unit configured to transmit the formed OFDM signal.
Abstract: An apparatus for providing a secondary power source for an electric vehicle and having at least one secondary electrical power storage unit for storing electrical energy for delivery to the electric vehicle as required to replace the primary power source, a power connection assembly to connect the at least one secondary power source to the electric vehicle and a control system to control supply to the electric vehicle.
Abstract: A module with an embedded universal integrated circuit card (eUICC) can include a received eUICC profile and a set of cryptographic algorithms. The received eUICC profile can include an initial shared secret key for authentication with a wireless network. The module can receive a key K network token and send a key K module token to the wireless network. The module can use the key K network token, a derived module private key, and a key derivation function to derive a secret shared network key K that supports communication with the wireless network. The wireless network can use the received key K module token, a network private key, and the key derivation function in order to derive the same secret shared network key K derived by the module. The module and the wireless network can subsequently use the mutually derived key K to communicate using traditional wireless network standards.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system whereby it is possible to verify the safety of a person even if the person is not aware that the person is being searched for as a missing person. In this system, each verification requesting person who is searching for another person registers, in a database of a portal server (4), a set comprising a feature value of the face of the searched-for person and personal information (e.g., telephone number) about the searched-for person or the verification requesting person. A field server (2) constantly compares feature values of captured face images with the database, and if a close match is found between the feature value of a captured face image and the stored feature value of the face of a person, the field server (2) presents the registered personal information associated with that person to the person from which the captured face image was derived and requests verification from the latter person.
