    Abstract: A hair treatment promoting apparatus in which a reflector provided with a heater for radiating infrared rays is rotated by a motor so that the infrared rays are radiated to the top, back and both sides of a head of a subject. The heater and reflecting plate form a heating device rotated by the motor and a disk is provided which rotates with the motor. The disk is provided with a slit for a home position and slits for stopping arranged on both sides thereof, and energization of the motor is interrupted when the slit for the home position is detected within a prescribed time elapsed from when the slit for stopping is detected in the direction of rotating the heating device, thereby stopping the heating device at the home position.

    Abstract: A method and system are provided for delivering personalized messages to a calling party who calls a called party who is engaged in an Internet session over a telephone line not capable of receiving telephone calls without interrupting the Internet connection. The called party receives a notification on her computer screen of an incoming telephone call from a calling party. A drop box on the called party's computer temporarily interrupts the called party and identifies the calling party. The called party may answer the call, forward the call to a separate telephone number, place the call on hold, send the call to voice mail, or type, select or record a personalized message that is delivered to the calling party without interrupting the Internet session. The personalized message may be a text message or a voice message. Text messages are converted from text to speech before delivery to the calling party.

The liquid crystal display device uses a liquid crystal having a negative anisotropic dielectric constant, and orientations of the liquid crystal are vertical to substrates when no voltage is applied, almost horizontal when a predetermined voltage is applied, and oblique when an intermediate voltage is applied. At least one of the substrates includes a structure as domain regulating means, and inclined surfaces of the structure operate as a trigger to regulate azimuths of the oblique orientations of the liquid crystal when the intermediate voltage is applied.

    Abstract: An integrated circuit thin film capacitor includes multiple layers of conductors separated by dielectric material. The conductive layers are connected to interconnect lands using conductive vias. The interconnect lands can be controlled collapse chip connection (C4) lands that allow the capacitor to be connected to a circuit board. In one embodiment, the capacitor is mounted on a circuit board in close proximity to a processor circuit. The multi layer capacitor of the present invention provides the ability to increase a capacitance value while lowering interconnect resistance and inductance.

One excitation event includes creating an excitation signal having a maximum amplitude change occurring within a time t1, which is less than a period t2 of the higher frequency component. Wavelet processing may be used to separate or distinguish the higher frequency waveform from the lower frequency waveform.

    Abstract: A vacuum dry sprinkler system includes a sprinkler head formed with a body having a central orifice through which fire extinguishing fluid is expelled through an outlet end. A thermally sensitive trigger member is coupled to the yoke and the outlet end of the sprinkler head. The sprinkler body carries an expulsion assembly which includes an expulsion member and a thrust member. In response to a fire, the expulsion member of the expulsion assembly overcomes the vacuum force and expels the sealing assembly out of the outlet end of the sprinkler body, while the thrust member laterally thrusts the sealing member out of the water trajectory path, and thus, prevents the sealing assembly from reseating on the outlet of the sprinkler head.

The torque transmitting mechanisms provide connections between various gear members, the fixed interconnections, the first and second input clutches, the output shaft, and the transmission housing, and are operated in combinations of three to establish at least five forward speed ratios and at least one reverse speed ratio.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for improving the performance of a superscalar, superpipelined processor by identifying and processing instructions for performing addressing operations is provided. The invention heuristically determines instructions likely to perform addressing operations and assigns those instructions to specialized pipes in a pipeline structure. The invention can assign such instructions to both an execute pipe and a load/store pipe to avoid the occurrence of “bubbles” in the event execution of the instruction requires the calculation capability of the execute pipe. The invention can also examine a sequence of instructions to identify an instruction for performing a calculation where the result of the calculation is used by a succeeding load or store instruction. In this case, the invention controls the pipeline to assure the result of the calculation is available for the succeeding load or store instruction even if both instructions are being processed concurrently.

In addition, a surface of each tooth that contacts the wafer is inclined so as to form an angle greater than 90° relative to a polishing surface and away from the center of the wafer.

The projection has a tapered surface, so that when the circumferential edge of the lens is engaged with the projections and the lens is pushed in toward the positioning member, the arms are elastically pushed open and the circumferential edge of the lens rides over the projections, whereby the lens is held.

The next number of searches information (if further groups exist which must be searched), comparison related information, and actions related to packets (if further groups exist which must be searched, directing searching again, while if no further groups exist which must be searched, actions for packet classification) are stored in a search result storage device. By doing this it is made possible to search with the bit width of the group unit.
