Abstract: Described herein are concepts, system and techniques which provide a means to construct robust high-field superconducting magnets using simple fabrication techniques and modular components that scale well toward commercialization. The resulting magnet assembly—which utilizes non-insulated, high temperature superconducting tapes (HTS) and provides for optimized coolant pathways—is inherently strong structurally, which enables maximum utilization of the high magnetic fields available with HTS technology. In addition, the concepts described herein provide for control of quench-induced current distributions within the tape stack and surrounding superstructure to safely dissipate quench energy, while at the same time obtaining acceptable magnet charge time. The net result is a structurally and thermally robust, high-field magnet assembly that is passively protected against quench fault conditions.

Abstract: This disclosure describes processes for performing direct memory access (“DMA”) between memory of a host and memory of a smart network interface controller (“SNIC”) connected to a bus of the host. The host runs a host thread in a processor of the host and the SNIC runs a SNIC thread in a processor of the SNIC. The host thread and the SNIC thread facilitate direct access of the SNIC thread to memory locations in the memory of the host. The SNIC thread can fetch data directly from and/or write data directly to the memory locations of the memory of the host over the bus.

Abstract: A vaporizer assembly for an e-vaping device includes a heater coil structure, a set of electrical lead structures coupled to opposite ends of the heater coil structure, and a non-conductive connector structure connected to each of the electrical lead structures, such that the electrical lead structures are coupled together independently of the heater coil structure. The vaporizer assembly may contact a dispensing interface structure through the heater coil structure. The vaporizer assembly may heat pre-vapor formulation drawn from a reservoir by the dispensing interface. The heater coil structure may define a surface, and the vaporizer assembly may apply a mechanical force to the dispensing interface structure, such that the heater coil structure is in compression with the dispensing interface structure and the heater coil structure surface is substantially flush with a surface of the dispensing interface structure. The heater coil structure may define a three-dimensional surface.
Abstract: The application pertains to, for example, novel processes and systems for heat transfer, refrigeration, energy storage, and various cooling and heating processes. Such processes may include cooling or mixing various liquid-liquid phase transition liquids to release and/or energy. Additionally or alternatively, such processes may include charging and/or discharging thermal storage reservoirs with layered liquids of various temperatures.
Abstract: A dispensing apparatus for dispensing articles includes a dispensing outlet, laterally opposed, elongate first and second guide walls defining a singulating channel therebetween, a dispensing path extending through the singulating channel to the dispensing outlet, and a drive system. The drive system includes a belt and a belt actuator operable to drive the belt. The dispensing apparatus is configured to convey articles on the belt in a dispensing direction along the dispensing path toward the dispensing outlet to be dispensed. The singulating channel is configured to singulate the articles as the articles are conveyed along the dispensing path and through the singulating channel toward the dispensing outlet to be dispensed. The first guide wall extends laterally across the singulating channel at an oblique angle to vertical to overhang at least a portion of the singulating channel and engage articles conveyed along the singulating channel.
