Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a process that formulates an inference that a first group of mobile devices are at ground level, and obtains, for the first group of mobile devices, positions and barometric pressure readings. Ground heights with respect to a common reference height are determined for the first group of mobile devices, and reference barometric pressures are calculated for the first group of mobile devices, at the common reference height according to the barometric pressure readings and the determined ground heights. At least a portion of the reference barometric pressures are combined to obtain a reference barometric pressure. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20240190191
Abstract: An electronically-controlled tractor protection control module in a tractor prevents air flow from an air reservoir to a gladhand when a signal is received that indicates a trailer is not coupled with the gladhand. This prevents air from being vented out the gladhand when the tractor's service brakes are applied. However, a failure can occur that prevents this signal from being received or acted upon, which would result in air being vented out the gladhand. To address this problem, an air flow restrictor is used to limit the amount of air that is vented in such a situation.

In one aspect, a vehicle and uniquely assigned an aerial drone embedded with sensors, radar, lidar, etc. may establish a data link. The driver or occupant may input information into the user interface in the vehicle about a region or destination of interest. The vehicle's processor may instruct the drone to scout a target region and receive data about the topographic features of the terrain. The drone may scout the region, receive the data, and forward the data to the vehicle. The processor may compute optimal routes based on data from both the drone and the vehicle sensors. In some aspects, the drone performs calculations of the route and may communicate in or near real time with the vehicle.
