Abstract: The invention provides an actuator system comprising an actuator member having first and second positions. The system further comprises actuating means for moving the actuator member between the first and second positions and detection means for detecting the first respectively the second position and supplying time signals indicative thereof. A controller determines on the basis of supplied time signals the time lapsed when the actuator member is moved between the first and second positions in a given direction, the controller comprising information representing at least one defined time range, each time range being associated with movement of the actuator member in a given direction between the first and second positions and a given actuation force, the controller being adapted to compare the determined time lapsed with the defined time range(s) and perform an action corresponding to the time range associated with the determined time lapsed.

  • Patent number: 7217431
Abstract: A process for the preparation of a particulate material by a controlled agglomeration method, i.e. a method that enables a controlled growth in particle size. The method is especially suitable for use in the preparation of pharmaceutical compositions containing a therapeutically and/or prophylactically active substance which has a relatively low aqueous solubility and/or which is subject to chemical decomposition. The process comprising i) spraying a first composition comprising a carrier, which has a melting point of about 5° C. or more which is present in the first composition in liquid form, on a second composition comprising a material in solid form, the second composition having a temperature of at the most a temperature corresponding to the melting point of the carrier and/or the carrier composition and ii) mixing or others means of mechanical working the second composition onto which the first composition is sprayed to obtain the particulate material.

  • Publication number: 20070104596
Abstract: The invention provides a pump assembly comprising an actuator lever, a supporting structure, a pump comprising a pump member moveable by actuation of the actuator lever, and an actuator for moving the actuator lever. A first stationary pivoting joint is formed between the actuator lever and the supporting structure, and a second floating pivoting joint is formed between the actuator lever and the pump member allowing the pump member to float relative to the actuator lever, the floating pivoting point providing a constant-length actuator arm defined between the first pivoting joint and the second pivoting joint.

  • Publication number: 20070104764
Abstract: The invention relates to the use of co-expression of an antimicrobial agent and an enzyme, with a view to improving yield and/or overall production economy. Examples of antimicrobial agents are antimicrobial peptides such as lactoferricins and antimicrobial enzymes such as lysozyme and glucose oxidase, and examples of enzymes are endoglucanase, xylanase, phytase, protease, galactanase, mannanase, dextranase, alpha-galactosidase, pectate lyase, alpha-amylase and glucoamylase. A fusion product comprising the antimicrobial agent and the enzyme and a cleavable linker is novel, and can be used in animal feed and animal feed additives. The invention also describes the use of a protection domain wherein at least 50% of the amino acid residues comprised in the peptide protection domain are D (Asp) and/or E (Glu). The protection or quenching domain serves to temporarily and reversibly inactivate the antimicrobial peptide during the expression.
