Abstract: A junction diverter with a supporting surface disposed below a main conveyor path when in an inoperative position can be lifted above the main conveyor path to an inclined position in which it is flush with one or the other of a pair of lateral conveyor paths. The supporting surface consists of wheels or rollers extending upward from an inner carrier frame which at one end is pivotally connected to an outer carrier frame which at its opposite end from its connection to the inner frame is pivotally connected to a main support frame of the main conveyor path, with a jack connected to raise the outer frame from the main support frame and a second jack to raise the inner frame from the outer frame, thus tilting the supporting surface toward one or the other of the lateral conveyor paths.
Abstract: Raw phosphate material is calcined to remove pollutants, such as organic compounds and sulphides, by heat treatment in two suspension calciners (3,5) arranged in series. Fuel supplied at burners (8) is burnt in the calciners with air, supplied in parallel through pipes (9) from a cooler (7) for the treated material. The material is preheated in a preheater, for instance a pipe (13) and cyclone (2) by exit gases from the calciner before entering the calciners and, after leaving the calciners, is separated from the gas streams in separators (4,6).
Abstract: Sulfur oxides and other acid gases are removed from hot flue gases by dispersing and suspending an absorption agent and water, preferably Ca(OH).sub.2 suspended in water, in a rising stream of hot gas at the lower part of a reaction chamber, where the hot gases are subjected to a rapid reduction in velocity. Sulfur oxides and other acid gases are absorbed on and reacted with the absorption agent in the presence of evaporating water producing a dry powder which is separated from the flue gas in a particle precipitator and partially recirculated to the reaction chamber.
Abstract: An apparatus for the centered feeding of pieces of laundry to a conveyor comprises a support for hangingly supporting a piece of laundry to be fed to the conveyor, the support is reciprocally movable parallel to the centerline of the conveyor between a first position where a front face of the support is in front of the conveyor and a second position where the front face is disposed above the conveyor. The support comprises a hollow body with a front face formed by a belt with apertures therethrough. The belt is movable transversely of the conveyor centerline and the hollow body. A vacuum source is connected to the hollow body through a valve. Application of vacuum pressure to the hollow body allows an edge of a piece of laundry to be held against the apertured belt. Transverse movement of the belt allows centering of the piece of laundry with respect to the conveyor centerline.

Abstract: An earphone set is provided with a temple pad above each of its earphone units, whereby the pressure against the ear is relieved by an additional holding pressure against the temple region. In order to be self adjustable for an optimal pressure distribution the earphone unit and the temple pad are mounted, in each side, on a common carrier member, which is pivoted to the end of the resilient headband about a pivot axis located between the earphone unit and the temple pad.
Abstract: The housing (5, 6) of the regulator contains a medium-pressure chamber (10) to which gas is supplied from the cylinder when a self-closing cylinder valve (2) is open and which communicates with the regulator outlet (14) through a further valve (b 13), and a low-pressure chamber (23) in open communication with the outlet. The medium-pressure chamber (10) has a diaphragm wall (15) with a spindle (16) for controlling the cylinder valve (2). The low-pressure chamber (23) has a diaphragm wall (22) for controlling the further valve (13) through a connecting rod (20) carried by the diaphragm wall and coacting at its upper end with a manual selector (21) and at its lower end with the valve opener spindle (16). By means of the selector the connecting rod may be locked in a raised position in which the cylinder valve (2) is closed.
Abstract: This invention relates to a pumping assembly for heating and faucet water plants, comprising a wet-armature motor and a centrifugal pump driven thereby, the casing of which is pressed to shape from metal plate and has an axially directed collar against which bears the encircling marginal area of a partition separating the pumping space from the motor space, and which is joined by welding to an equally encircling marginal area of the split tube separating the armature space from the stator space. A particularly uncomplicated and safe joint results between the components in question due to the fact that, in accordance with the invention, the partition and the split tube are interwelded at least at points in their mutual contact area and are, jointly with the armature connected to the pump casing, to form a structural unit ready for installation, by connecting the collar of the pump casing in liquid-tight manner to the said marginal area of the split tube by pressure welding.
Abstract: For the purpose of pouring a stepwise advanced casting mould consisting of identical, flaskless mould parts having vertical joints at which there are provided inlets or chutes extending from the top surface of the mould to its casting cavities, use is made of a pouring tundish having a slitlike bottom outlet adapted to cover three or more inlets temporarily blocked by an obstruction. After an additive has been fed to the tundish this is being filled with the necessary amount of molten iron which prior to removal of the obstruction gets the opportunity of being merged uniformly with the additive, and possible slag products may at the same time rise to the surface. The pouring tundish may meanwhile be advanced one or more steps together with the casting mould while being in firm contact with its top face.
Abstract: In a filtering device comprising one or more filtering elements (1) having in principle co-axially disposed through-going apertures (4) for the passage of fluid, the individual filtering element (1) consists of two identical filtering discs (2, 3) which abut each other closely along their outer peripheral edges, and which at the sides facing away from each other are formed in such a way that several filtering elements (1) abut each other closely along the inner edges adjacent to the aperture (4).
Abstract: A winding machine for the winding of endless members such as toroidal cores (31) is designed with an exchangeable cassette (12) for a wire magazine (13), whereby the winding machine may be rapidly and readily readjusted from one winding operation to another requiring a different form or wire magazine. Guide means for rotational movement of the wire magazine are accommodated in the cassette, whereas all driving means (14-19) for rotating the magazine (13) are positioned in the machine frame (11). The cassette (12) is composed of two parts (12a, 12b) which are journalled with each other and may be opened and closed by operation of a common operator member (25) in the machine frame (11) which cause prismatic supports (37a, 37b) on which the magazine parts (12a, 27b) are supported to turn in reverse directions around a common axis (23).
Abstract: Frozen confection articles are produced in non-enveloped, openable moulds by subjecting the closed moulds to an innoxious freezing medium such as very cold air. An apparatus for producing such frozen or moulded articles comprises a plurality of parallel, endless rows of moulds moving along a closed path of straightlined and curved configurations, these moulds each consisting of opposed, mutually hinged mould parts, which are forced together during motion along the straightlined parts of said path, as corresponding to setting or freezing zones, while the moulds are openable for discharging of the hardened or frozen products as they are guided along the curved path, in which the moulds diverge from each other and thus provide space for the opening thereof.
Abstract: The invention relates to a hydraulic control valve assembly for controlling a consumer unit such as a servomotor of a vehicle steering system. The valve assembly has a conventional port arrangement which includes two selectively pressurizeable and drainable motor ports connectable to a servomotor and supply and exhaust ports connectable respectively to a pump and a drain tank. A slide valve has a central wall section between two motor ports which completely block a central supply port when the slide valve is in a neutral position. Two metering control load sensing ports are on opposite sides of the supply port and when the slide valve is in a neutral position the load sensing ports are in throttling relation to the slide valve motor ports.
Abstract: The invention relates to a steering control unit for a bidirectional servomotor which is connectable to steerable wheels. A steering wheel controlled quantity setting unit of a known type has ports connectable to a pump and a return tank and two control ports through which metered quantities of fluid flow to opposite sides of the servomotor and to other parts of the apparatus for actuating the servomotor. A directional control valve for selectivity directing pressurized fluid from a power circuit to opposite sides of the servomotor is controlled by a control circuit containing the setting unit. A utility valve having pressure regulating and control and power valve capabilities is provided. In cases wherein the quantity setting apparatus is remotely located from the regulating valve the length of the signal channels add to the reaction time.
