Abstract: A cup dispenser for cups containing freshly made beverages comprises a discharge opening connecting a dispensing chamber with the interior of the dispenser. This discharge opening is from the inside filled by a rotor mounted about a vertical shaft. The peripheral wall of the rotor closes completely the discharge opening in any position of the rotor apart from the position in which a recess opposes the discharge opening. This recess is shaped in such a manner that it may receive a cup situated therein when the dispenser is activated. Subsequently, the cup is filled with the desired beverage at a filling station and optionally provided with a cover at a cover dispensing device. Such a dispenser protects the interior parts thereof efficiently against the environment, and furthermore it allows the positioning of the covers on the filled cups in a simple manner.
Abstract: Vitreous optical fibers are useful in an expanding number of technologies. A process, corresponding apparatus, and a hermetically sealed fiber of the above nature are disclosed wherein high energy ionized plasmas are used in a continuous production of a coated vitreous optical fiber. Drawn fibers are axially aligned by ambient gases discharging through high vacuum gas locks. These fibers are then continuously fed through a high energy plasma zone so that the surface of the drawn fiber is subjected to ionized bombardment. This provides plasma-milling of the fiber surface for improving the fiber strength and for superior bonding of subsequently applied coatings. In preferred practice, a vacuum zone is used to deposit, from a plasma ion source, a diamond-like elemental carbon film onto the moving fiber. Another plasma vacuum zone may be used to deposit, over the carbon film, a very thin film of a conductive elemental metal illustratively; tin, indium and aluminum.
Abstract: The improved dual-entry radial compressor rotor of the present invention has two sets of alternating full length and partial length blades on a symmetrical hub, with the partial length blades on one hub side terminating at the rotor high velocity exit coincident with the full length blades on the other hub side, to smooth the gas velocity profile in the tangential direction. Aerodynamically shaped sawtooth-profiled reliefs are provided in the hub radial portion between the blade tips to allow induced pressure differentials between the flow paths to smooth the axial velocity profile.
Abstract: The invention relates to a magnetic valve assembly of the type in which a solenoid plunger upon excitation by a magnetic coil is displaceable against a housing end face having a valve seat. The plunger has a bore in which is disposed a closing element. A return spring in the plunger bore biasing the plunger away from the valve seat is between the far end of the plunger and a fixed abutment element which passes through the plunger. The plunger has a hole surrounding the abutment element which is sized to allow the plunger engage the valve seat and to limit the movement of the plunger away from the valve seat.

Abstract: A container comprising a lid and a container body with a flange, the lid and the flange being fixed to one another in an originally sealed condition of the container to provide a tight closure of the container by a frame-like connection member which has first and second attachment sections affixed to the flange and to the lid respectively. A weakening zone is disposed between the two attachment sections in addition to a downwardly projecting flange. When the container is resealed the outer surface of the flange sealingly abuts against the inner surface of the wall of the container at its mouth. The walls of the container, lid and connection member can be provided with layers of high-barrier material.
Abstract: The invention relates to a flow regulator in which a diaphragm of elastically deformable material is disposed between a pressure chamber at supply pressure and an end face of a base member having open radially extending grooves. A supply passage extends from the regulator inlet circumferentially around the diaphragm into fluid communication with the grooves and a discharge passage is axially disposed in the base member in fluid communication with the radially inward ends of the grooves. Pressure variations in the supply passage cause the diaphragm to cover varying lengths of the grooves to vary the throttling effects of the grooves. The regulator is adapted for different ranges of flow quantities by providing two or more grooves in the face of the base member and by providing valving apparatus for selectively connecting one or more of the grooves to the supply passage.

Abstract: In a sluicing pipe opening into a nozzle tiltably arranged and swinging about an axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the nozzle, oscillating movements of the nozzle are produced by moving means actuatable by cleaning liquid flowing to the nozzle. The moving means may be a spiral, resilient liquid inlet pipe, the nozzle being located at the free end of said pipe. However, the moving means may also be a rotor in a hydraulic motor, the outlet of which communicates with the nozzle or a spring loaded, pivoting means driven by the reaction force of the nozzle. Since the nozzle may oscillate by means of a few and light components, it is suitable for a manually operated, light spray gun.
Abstract: A double-glazed window for insertion in openings in walls or doors of a sandwich-type construction. The glazing comprises two identical transparent elements with an integral pane portion and an edge portion having sealing ribs. Internal covering means comprising two rib sections that overlap each other to provide an inner seal. The height of the rib sections are less than the thickness of the sandwich material, and the rib sections may also interengage each other.
Abstract: An agricultural implement wherein a plurality of cultivators such as plowshares are attached to mounts (7) on a frame (1) which can be adjusted for different plow strip widths by a hydraulic cylinder (15) and a parallel strut (10), the frame (1) being pivotally attached (3) to a drag beam (4) that is adapted to be pivotally mounted (5) on a tractor hitch (6) for coupling to a tractor. A first link (12) is provided which is pivotally attached (13) to the tractor hitch (6) and to the frame (1), such that when the frame (1) is pivoted for changing the plow strip width, all of the plowshare mounts (7) will be displaced correctly in relation to each other while at the same time the first mount (7) is displaced correctly in relation to the tractor centerline.
Abstract: The publication relates to means for cooling a body, comprising at least a tube through which a liquid coolant is flowing in order to remove heat away from the at least one tube and its surroundings. The tube(s) houses an internally arranged hose having a wall thickness, permeability and/or porousity and a quality which corresponds to the heat energy to be removed from the tube(s) and/or it surroundings. The hose has preferably an outer diameter which corresponds substantially to the internal diameter of the tube(s) and the hose is formed of a texture of a flexible material such as for example textile or fiberglass. The hose may be fastened to the tube at its inlet end.
Abstract: The present invention relates to novel phenylindene derivatives having interesting pharmacodynamic properties which make them useful as psychopharmacologicals in the treatment especially of psychoses such as schizophrenia, having a low degree of undesired side effects such as cataleptic effects, methods for the preparation of said phenylindene derivatives, pharmaceutical compositions containing same, and methods for the treatment of psychic disorders, such as psychoses and depressions and pain, by administering a therapeutically active amount of one of said derivatives to a living animal body, including human beings.
Abstract: The invention relates to an equipment box for a power converter which includes a rear wall with vertical cooling ribs on the outside and having a planar surface on the insides upon which electrical components can be mounted. The box further has base, top and side walls and at least one conductor plate arranged on a component carrier which is pivotally mounted internally of the box. The side walls are pivoted to the rear wall by hinges, formed by a vertical groove on one wall and a rib engaged therein on the other wall. In this construction use is made of the fact that the rear wall with its cooling ribs constitutes a very stiff constructional element. The side walls can be mounted on it directly and, by reason of the pivotable arrangement, the side walls can be accurately positioned to be at right-angles to the rear wall. In this position they are then fixed by the retaining wall and tolerance variations which are unavoidable in walls of large area will not lead to stresses in the finished housing.
Abstract: A screening apparatus for granules or the like material comprises a housing, wherein a frame structure is arranged which is rotatable about a main axis. The frame structure supports a screen drum which is rotatable by means of a shaft arranged eccentrically with respect to the main axis. In order to readjust the screening apparatus from screening one material and to screen another material which needs another contribution of the centrifugal force from the planetary movement of the screen drum, the eccentrically of the screen drum with respect to the main axis is variable.
