Abstract: A method of defrosting a refrigeration system having a main compressor connected by a main hot gas discharge line to a condenser, the condenser being connected by a main liquid line to thermal expansion valves and subsequent cooling coils, each thermal expansion valve and cooling coil being in parallel connection with the other thermal expansion valves and cooling coils, and each cooling coil being connected by a suction line to the main compressor, the defrosting method includes passing hot gas from the main hot gas discharge line through a selected cooling coil to defrost same, compressing cooled hot gas which has passed through the cooling coil by means of a separate dedicated defrost compressor, and returning the compressed hot gas to the main hot gas discharge line.
Abstract: A contact 24 and a conductor plate 26, 27 are held in the housing 21 so that portions of the contact 24 except its end portion 24a and the plate 26, 27 can be put in a parallel relation to each other. Also, a contact 34 is held in the housing 31 so that when the connector 2 and 3 are fitted to each other, portions of the contact 34 except its end portion 34a and the plate 26, 27 can be put in a parallel relation with each other. Further, the end portions 24a and 34a are so shaped that the distance between the signal line formed by the contacts 24 and 34 and the plate 26, 27 can be kept substantially uniform. This can provide a stabilized impedance of the signal line formed by the contacts being contacted with each other.

Abstract: An interface and a method for incorporating program information into an electronic message are provided. According to the method, a menu of programs is generated by displaying program identifiers on a display device. At least one of the program identifiers representing a program of interest is selected. An electronic message display is generated with program text indicative of that program incorporated into a message portion of the electronic message display. The message portion is sent by electronic message to a recipient, with the program text in the message portion. Preferably, selection of the program text by a recipient of the electronic message causes the respective program to be implemented or causes certain choices on how to implement the program to be presented to the recipient.

Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the movements of the squeeze plates of a string moulding apparatus where the apparatus generally includes a moulding chamber defined between two squeeze plates. One of the squeeze plates can be pivoted to open the moulding chamber. The production cycle of the apparatus includes, apart from the charging of the chamber with mould material, several movements of the squeeze plates. A movement of one plate commences before the preceding movement of the other plate has finished. The hydraulic system of the apparatus comprises two pumps, one pump for each actuator associated to one of the squeeze plates.

Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed for repairing a flaw in a surface, partcularly in the field of vehicle glass repair. The apparatus has a housing adapted to engage the surface to be repaired, a repair seal for sealing between the housing and around the flaw to be repaired to define a repair space over the flaw. A reservoir communicates with the repair space and, in use, contains liquid repair material. A vacuum pump communicates with the repair space and the reservoir to apply a partial vacuum to the repair space and to the reservoir without repair liquid from the reservoir being drawn into the repair space in order to degas separately the flaw and repair liquid in the reservoir. After appropriate degassing, repair liquid from the reservoir is caused to flow into the repair space to fill the repair space with repair liquid.

Abstract: A wristwatch (1) includes a keyboard whose control keys (4) are distributed over the length of the wristband (3), a processing unit (19) for data introduced via the keyboard, at least one display device (6) for displaying time functions and/or data provided by the processing unit, and a power source for the electric power supply of the electronic components of the wristwatch. In order to allow the use of its keyboard, the wristwatch (1) is placed on a work surface, the length of the wristband (3) facing a user. The display of the alphanumerical characters (7a) occurs in the direction of the length of the wristwatch, i.e., rotated by 90° with respect to the usual time display (7b). At least one integrated encoding circuit (9) acts as a communication interface between the keys (4) of the keyboard and the processing unit (19) integrated in the case of the wristwatch. The encoding circuit is placed in the wristband (3) and communicates with the unit via one of the two electric supply wires of said circuit.
Abstract: A process is provided for production of a refrigerating circuit comprising non-evaporable getter material, wherein said getter material, previously introduced into the same circuit, is heated to a temperature of at least 200° C. during or immediately after the circuit evacuating step, at a residual atmospheric gas pressure of not less than 10 mbar, before introduction of the mixture of cooling fluids and before the circuit sealing. Preferred is the use of zirconium-based getter alloys.

Abstract: A receiver of a handset transceiver, in a wireless telephone system having a plurality of wireless handset and a base unit having a base transceiver. Each handset has a handset transceiver for establishing a time-division multiple access (TDMA) link over a shared channel with the base unit via the base transceiver, in which each handset communicates during an exclusive time slot of a TDMA scheme that allocates time slots to handsets during an exclusive time slot of a TDMA scheme that allocates time slots to active handsets for receiving a spread spectrum signal comprising successive chips representing successive symbols. Each receiver has one or more demodulation loops for demodulating the received spread spectrum signal, wherein each demodulation loop is characterized by one or more demodulation loop parameters. A parallel correlator of the receiver detects a peak bin and provides the peak bin and two adjacent bins.

Abstract: A method of forming metal connection elements in integrated circuits formed on adjacent areas of a wafer includes forming a conductive seed layer on a substrate of the wafer. A first mask covers the integrated circuits and leaves exposed areas of the seed layer overlying predetermined scribe lines used for separation of the integrated circuits. Using the seed layer as a cathode, a metal is deposited by an electrochemical process on exposed areas of the seed layer. The first mask is removed and a second mask is formed, leaving predetermined areas of the seed layer exposed. Using the seed layer as a cathode a metal is deposited on the exposed predetermined areas by an electrochemical process. The second mask is then removed. Connection elements of uniform thickness throughout the substrate are produced with the use of a very thin seed layer.
Abstract: An LED component is provided, with light emission in the green-to-near UV wavelength range. The light-emitting semiconductor die is encapsulated with one or more silicone compounds, including a hard outer shell, an interior gel or resilient layer, or both. The silicone material is stable over temperature and humidity ranges, and over exposure to ambient UV radiation. As a consequence, the LED component has an advantageously long lifetime, in which it is free of “yellowing” attenuation which would reduce the green-to-near UV light output.

Abstract: An apparatus for maintaining tension in a mask frame of a cathode ray tube. The apparatus includes affixing a shadow mask to a pair of triboxes disposed along opposite sides of a mask frame at a predetermined tension. The triboxes are coupled to the mask frame by braces having a different coefficient of thermal expansion than the triboxes so as to compensate for the expansion of the frame during thermal cycling of the cathode ray tube. Consequently, it is possible to maintain the tension force applied to the shadow mask by the mask frame.
Abstract: A distinct cultivar of Kalanchoe plant named ‘Yellow Josefine’, characterized by its upright and compact plant habit; dark green-colored leaves; yellow-colored flowers; and excellent postproduction longevity.
