Abstract: A device, method, and kit for conveying a radioactive agent to a site of stenosis. The device includes a body portion to be disposed about the surface of a stent. The device comprises a radioactive agent. The device is capable of expanding, thus following the deployment movement of the stent, and is used to counter restenosis.

Abstract: Several peripheral entities, each of which is clocked by its own internal clock signal, can access a memory that is a single-access memory. A priority entity is defined from among the peripheral entities, and the other entities are defined as auxiliary entities. A repetitive time frame is formulated so as to be regulated by the internal clock signal of the priority entity. This time frame is subdivided into several groups of windows that are allocated to the peripheral entities. Each peripheral entity can access the memory only during the windows that are allocated to that entity.

Abstract: A non-volatile semiconductor memory device that includes an address buffer block, a matrix of memory cells, and an output buffer block. The address buffer block receives input signals external to the memory device, that in a first operating mode are controlled by devices outside to the memory device, and transmit signals to the matrix of memory cells, which are adapted to decode the received signals and to transmit in turn output decoded signals through the output buffer block. A command block is provided that is activatable through an external control signal and once activated, it puts the memory device in a second operating mode in which the command block receives at least a part of the signals in output of said matrix of memory cells and, after having processed them, transmits internal address signals to the address buffer block. This provides a feedback inside the memory device capable of making the same able to autonomously execute a succession of instructions stored in the matrix of memory cells.
Abstract: The bag is made from a polyethylene sheet and has a mouth with at least one sheath along its edge, the sheath containing an inextensible ribbon which is graspable from outside through a hole cut in the sheath, in order to close the bag after filling. An elastically extensible ribbon is fastened at its opposite ends to the material of the bag. When the bag is received in a rigid bin with its upper margin overturned over the bin rim, the elastic ribbon is pulled radially, looped and released around the overturn of the bag to clamp it around the bin.

Abstract: The invention relates to a foolproofing device (12) equipped with pins (14-1 and 14-2) placed around the neck of a container (10), the container containing a product for pharmaceutical, medical or other use intended to be used by an extraction system (30) screwed onto a threaded support which may be the neck of the container itself or a sleeve (16) placed on the neck of the container, the screwing operation and thus the use of the product by the extraction system being possible only if the notches (34-1 and 34-2) of the extraction system coincide with the pins of the foolproofing device. According to a main characteristic of the invention, the foolproofing device (12) is characterized in that it is integral with the threaded support (16) of the container by means of connecting parts (18) between the foolproofing device and the threaded support, the connecting parts being broken when the extraction system coinciding with the foolproofing device is screwed onto the threaded support of the container.
Abstract: The invention is based on the discovery that recombinagenic oligonucleobases are active in prokaryotic cells that contain a strand transfer activity (RecA) and mismatch repair activity (MutS). Using this system a type of Duplex Mutational Vector termed a Heteroduplex Mutational Vector, was shown to be more active in prokaryotic cells than the types of mutational vectors heretofore tested. Further improvements in activity were obtained by replacing the tetrathymidine linker by a nuclease resistant oligonucleotide, such as tetra-2′-O-methyl-uridine, to link the two strands of the recombinagenic oligonucleobase and removing the DNA-containing intervening segment. The claims concern Duplex Mutational Vectors that contain the above improvements. In an alternative embodiment the claims concern the use of Duplex Mutational Vectors in prokaryotic cells.
Abstract: Illustrated and described is an ultrasonic flowmeter for flowing media, that operates according to the transit time method, with a measuring tube and at least one transmitting and/or receiving head, in connection with which the transmitting and/or receiving head has a housing and an ultrasonic transducer with which ultrasonic signals can be emitted into the flowing medium and ultrasonic signals can be received from the flowing medium. The ultrasonic flowmeter for flowing media is characterized in that a damping device with at least one damping element is arranged around the sides of the housing of the transmitting and/or receiving head and at least partly adjacent to it, and the damping device is provided in a recess of the measuring tube.
