Abstract: A horizontal deflection circuit includes a horizontal deflection winding coupled to a retrace capacitor to form a retrace resonant circuit. An S-shaping capacitor is coupled to the deflection winding to form a first trace resonant circuit. A first switching transistor is responsive to a synchronizing first signal at a frequency related to a horizontal deflection frequency and coupled to the deflection winding for generating a deflection current in the deflection winding. A second switching transistor is responsive to the first signal and having first and second switching state, during first and second portions of the trace interval. The second switching transistor couples the S-shaping capacitor to a modulation inductance and to a modulation capacitor to form a second trace resonant circuit, during the second portion of the trace interval. The length of the second portion is modulated at a vertical rate parabolic manner for modulating a current in the S-shaping capacitor to provide modulated S correction.
Abstract: A multipurpose memory device suitable for a broader range of applications, whether requiring the reading of data in an asynchronous mode with random access (as in a standard memory) or in a synchronous sequential mode with sequential or burst type access, is capable of recognizing the mode of access and the mode of reading that is currently required by the microprocessor. The memory device self-conditions its internal circuitry as a function of such a recognition in order to read data in the requested mode without requiring the use of additional external control signals and/or implying a penalization in terms of access time and reading time compared to those which, for the same fabrication technology and state of the art design, may be attained with memory devices specifically designed for either one or the other mode of operation.

Abstract: The invention relates to a refill of a pulverulent foodstuff that can be dispersed in a liquid medium that has been compacted into a solid form that can be abraded to form a powdered granules, flakes, or chips, and to a process for manufacturing the refills. These refills are used in a device for the on demand preparation of beverages or sauces from water-dispersible foodstuffs. The method of making the beverages or sauces represent another embodiment of the invention. The device includes one or more pressing units that urge one or more solid refills of a water-dispersible foodstuff towards one or more abrading devices so that the refill contacts the abrading device and the abrading device abrades the refill to provide an amount of powdered foodstuff that is collected in a collector and combined with water to provide the beverage.

The wig or hairpiece includes a drawable fabric (3) impregnated with a thin drawable film (4). The thin drawable film is arranged on a surface of the drawable fabric which contacts the skin of the user's head when the wig or hairpiece is positioned on the user's head. The thin drawable film prevents the wig or hairpiece from slipping on the user's head when positioned on the user's head. The thin drawable film has at least one of a non-sticky and a non-gummy antislip surface at temperatures lower than a softening temperature of the thin drawable film.

Abstract: Optical fibers are produced by means of a direct sleeving technique that allows the sintering and collapsing of the outer jacket tube onto the inner core rod to be achieved directly during the drawing phase of optical fiber manufacture. In the course of the optical fiber manufacturing process, either a mechanical guide holding a sleeving tube concentrically around an annular gap and core rod or a preform having an enclosed annular gap/cavity are mounted in a drawing tower. A vacuum may be maintained in the annular gap/cavity of this assembly. A heat source is then applied to one end of the preform/assembly such that the extreme end of the tube is collapsed onto the core as fiber is drawn in a controlled manner. This single-step process allows to speed up the sleeving process, without introducing possible asymetries in the final preform and in the fibers drawn therefrom.

Abstract: An electrical connection structure having connection elements which electrically connect a movable part to a fixed part of a microelectromechanical device, for example a microactuator. The movable part and fixed part are separated by trenches and are mechanically connected by spring elements, which determine, together with the connection elements, the torsional rigidity of the microelectromechanical device. Each connection element is formed by multiple sub-arms connected in parallel and having a common movable anchorage region anchored to the movable part, and a common fixed anchorage region anchored to the fixed part, whereby the mechanical resistance of the connection elements is negligible. The sub-arms have a width equal to a sub-multiple of the width necessary in case of a single connection element for the latter to have a preset electrical resistance, which is determined in the design.

In a preferred embodiment, more than one fiber composite layer is included and the respective fiber layers are disposed in a criss-cross manner with respect to each other to enhance the overall strength of the telescopic part. Also, in a preferred embodiment the steel layer of the composite is on the interior of the telescopic part for minimizing thermal stresses due to temperature changes caused by sun loads. In another preferred embodiment, the composite fiber layers are disposed only in the zone of the cross-section of the telescopic part, which is subjected to tensile forces during use.
Abstract: A seat adjustment device or seat adjuster for use with a vehicle seat is provided with a flap- or plate-like operation lever. The plate-like operation lever is pivotally arranged below a forward end of seat cushion of the vehicle seat such as to be normally dependent therefrom. Hence, the lever itself assumes a decorative cover as if it was an integral part of the vehicle seat and also effectively covers a lower objectionable portion below the seat cushion.
