  • Patent number: 11468333
Abstract: System level occupancy counting in a lighting system configured to obtain an indicator data of a RF spectrum signal (signal) generated at a number of times in an area. At each respective one of the number of times, based on results of application of heuristic algorithm coefficients, the lighting system generates an indicator data metric value for each of the indicator data for the respective time. The lighting system processes each of the indicator data metric value to compute a plurality of metric values for the respective time and combine the plurality of metric values to compute an output metric value for each of a plurality of probable number of occupants in the area for the respective time. The lighting system determines an occupancy count in the area at the respective time based on the computed output metric value.

  • Patent number: 11470698
Abstract: A light fixture controller is configured for controlling the color temperature and intensity of a light fixture that includes at least two LED groups. Each LED group includes multiple LEDs configured to produce light at certain color temperatures. The light fixture controller receives a color temperature setting and an intensity setting for the light fixture and generates control signals based on these settings. A first control signal only turns on the first LED group for a first duration of a cycle and a second control signal only turns on the second LED group for a second duration of the cycle. The ratio between the first and second duration is determined based on the color temperature setting. The control signal further includes a dimming control signal for controlling a current flowing through the LED groups based on the intensity setting for the light fixture.

  • Patent number: 11432167
Abstract: A network has wireless enabled nodes of more than one hardware type. A computing device obtains a software update for one of the node types and sends an announcement of availability through the network. The announcement includes a node type identifier. A node that recognizes the identifier as matching its own hardware type collects the software update through a series of one or more requested packet transfers from the controller. Each packet carrying part of the update also includes the node type identifier. A node of a different type that has received the packets may serve as a source of missing packets to other nodes. Alternatively, nodes needing missing packets can fetch them from the computing device. When the software update is completely received by a node of the identified type, that node reboots and executes the updated software. Any node of another type discards the packets.

  • Patent number: 11416816
Abstract: A software tool automatically generates a components list (also known as a “solution”, “recipe”, or “bill of materials”) to be used in completing an installation. This components list may include, for example, fixtures and control devices for use in implementing lighting solutions for a building. The system takes as input a sequence of operations table, and identifies components to satisfy the requirements specified in the sequence of operations table. A number of different solutions may be presented, offering different configurations, cost levels, product lines, and/or the like; the different solutions may also indicate different degrees to which controls are embedded in fixtures. The user can then select among the presented solutions, and/or can perform other operations to change the configuration and/or parameters so as to generate new options.

  • Patent number: 11405869
Abstract: Disclosed examples offer ways to manage dialogues between radio frequency-enabled devices and conserve energy of the devices. A system includes a plurality of radio frequency-enabled nodes networked to communicate with a radio frequency-enabled device. The radio frequency-enabled device includes a radio frequency transceiver and a processing device. The processing device is configured to, in response to expiration of a time period or an occurrence of an event, transition the radio frequency-enable device from a standby mode to a transmit mode. In the transmit mode, a start dialogue message is broadcast. After a pause of a predetermined length following the transmission of the start dialogue message, the radio frequency-enabled device transitions to a receive mode to receive a data packet transmitted from one or more of the radio frequency-enabled nodes. Upon completion of receiving the data packet, the radio frequency-enabled device transitions from the receive mode to the standby mode.
