  • Patent number: 10841995
Abstract: An intelligent lighting system may be installed using pre-existing electrical wiring, such as in a construction or retrofit environment. An intelligent lighting controller and an intelligent lighting fixture may be connected via electrical wiring that is configured for transmitting AC power signals. A commissioning signal may be transmitted to the intelligent lighting fixtures via the electrical wiring. In some cases, a power transmission circuit included in the intelligent lighting controller modifies portions of the AC power signal to indicate the commissioning signal. The power transmission circuit may modify the portions of the AC signal via passive components. The intelligent lighting fixtures may receive the commissioning signal via the electrical wiring. In some cases, each intelligent lighting fixture that is connected to the electrical wiring, such as each intelligent lighting fixture on a lighting circuit in a room, receives the commissioning signal.

  • Patent number: 10806013
Abstract: A system that provides communication using an antenna formed by a gap between a circuit board and a housing of a lighting fixture. A first end of the gap corresponds to a first grounding point that electrically connects the circuit board and the housing and a second end of the gap corresponds to a second grounding point that electrically connects the circuit board and the housing. The distance between the first grounding point and the second grounding point defines a length of the gap and determines an operational frequency of the antenna.

  • Patent number: 10728979
Abstract: A lighting fixture may provide a proximal lighting effect and a distal lighting effect. In some cases, the lighting fixture may include a multi-channel driver and multiple groups of LEDs. Based on an adjustable input level, the driver may provide current to subgroups of the LEDs, arranged at various areas of the lighting fixture. Responsive to the level of the input, the driver may provide current to various LED subgroups at the various areas, such that a particular proximal effect is provided at a particular area of the lighting fixture based on the particular value of the input level. In addition, the distal lighting effect may have a stable value across the adjustments to the input level, and the corresponding adjustments to the proximal effects. The distal effect may be perceivable at a location remote from the lighting fixture, such as a work surface.

  • Patent number: 10724717
Abstract: A retention assembly includes a body that is configured to couple with the light fixture housing through a hinge. The body forms an internal axle. The retention assembly also includes a spring. A proximal end of the spring coils about the internal axle. A distal end of the spring extends from the body, and is configured to couple with a coupling feature of the light fixture housing. When the body couples with the hinge and the distal end of the spring couples with the coupling feature of the light fixture housing, a tension within the spring exerts a torque on the body, so as to urge the body to rotate about the hinge, toward the coupling feature.
