Abstract: A document analysis, commenting, and reporting system provides tools that automate quality assurance analysis tailored to specific document types. As one example, the specific document type may be a requirements specification and the system may tag different parts of requirements, including actors, entities, modes, and a remainder. However, the flexibility of the system permits analysis of any other document type, such as instruction manuals and best practices guides. The system helps avoid confusion over the document when it is delivered because of non-standard terms, ambiguous language, conflicts between document sections, incomplete or inaccurate descriptions, size and complexity of the document, and other issues.

Abstract: The subject matter of this specification can be embodied in, among other things, a method that includes selecting a plurality of web pages including static web page elements, generating first configuration information that specifies at least one of the static web page elements, and generating second configuration information that specifies at least one asynchronous web page element. Each asynchronous web page element corresponds to a particular static web page element specified in the first configuration information. The method also includes modifying the selected plurality of web pages. The modification includes parsing the plurality of web pages, identifying the static web page elements within the plurality of web pages that are also specified in the first configuration information, and replacing the identified static web page elements with the corresponding asynchronous web page elements specified in the second configuration information.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are inventions that integrate a home television set top box (“STB”) or home media center with a smart voicemail system of a telephone service provider. Smart voicemail features, such as email notification of voicemails, or online playback of voicemails, may be used to obtain digital voicemail audio files that are then stored and maintained in a home computer network. These files can be served over the network via a networked television STB or a media center computer, to a display monitor during normal usage. Embodiments cause new voicemail notifications to be displayed during typical operation of a television with the STB or media center computer and provide users with an interface for responding to new voicemail notifications, and reviewing, managing, and playing back voicemail. Messages received thus can be easily identified and reviewed through an interface with which subscribers are extremely comfortable.

Abstract: A hierarchal view preserving relationships between data is generated by storing information related to sales and investment. The information includes dimensions and each of the dimensions includes a level and each of the levels is described by variables. Relationships between the variables are also stored. A request for a hierarchy is received. The requested hierarchy includes a set of dimensions from the stored dimensions, a level for each dimension in the set, and a sequence of the dimensions or levels in the hierarchy. A computer system calculates values for the variables in the levels for the requested hierarchy using the stored relationships that are applicable to the variables in the levels. A view of the hierarchy is generated and includes the calculated values. The view also includes the dimensions or levels of the requested hierarchy in the sequence specified for the requested hierarchy.

Abstract: An insurance claim processing system may include an insurance claim database and an automated task processor. The insurance claim database may be configured to store and provide access to data in a data record that is related to an insurance claim. The automated task processor may be executable with a computer to identify an insurance claim processing task from the insurance claim database, and obtain insurance claim data related to the identified insurance claim processing task. The automated task processor may also select an action plan from an action plan database based on the obtained insurance claim data. The automated task processor may also identify a set of one or more automated procedures included in the action plan, and cause execution of the identified set of procedures included in the action plan.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided to perform an analysis of the accounts receivable of a business. Each component of the accounts receivable is reviewed individually and all factors related to that particular component are accounted for. A data tool is then implemented to analyze the data and to recognize the areas of all of the components that are susceptible to improvement. A strategy is then developed to maximize the efficiency of the accounts receivable.

Abstract: A hazardous condition alerting system is described that provides a method for alerting on a hazardous condition. The method may include transmitting a location data item identifying a location of an alerting apparatus to a remote server. The method may further include receiving alert information from the remote server when the remote server makes the determination that the location of the alerting apparatus corresponds to a hazardous location. And the method may further include providing a local alert on the alerting apparatus when the alert information from the remote server is received by the alerting apparatus.

Abstract: Web portal application customization methods and systems using profiles allow developers to expose different functionalities and a different look and feel to users belonging to different user profiles. Specifically, the method allows a developer to define default and profile-specific transitions as well as default and profile-specific states. Upon request of a transition by a workflow engine, the system transparently provides the workflow engine with a profile-specific transition if a profile-specific transition associated with the user is available. If a profile-specific transition is not available, the system provides the application with a default transition. Likewise, the system transparently provides the application with a profile-relevant state according to the profile of the user and the availability of a profile-specific state. Accordingly, the method may implement highly customizable functionalities and look and feel effectively and cost-efficiently.

Abstract: A system is described for providing strategies for increasing the efficiency of data centers. The system may include a memory, an interface, and a processor. The memory may store a historical dataset, a profile and an initial configuration of a data center. The interface may communicate with a user. The processor may identify the historical dataset and receive the profile and the initial configuration from the user. The user may select a data center initiative and a reduction factor. The processor may determine a subset of the historical dataset that describes data centers with a similar profile as the initial data center. The processor may process the initial configuration, the subset of the historical dataset and the selected initiative to determine a recommended configuration. The recommended configuration may be able to achieve the selected reduction in energy use. The processor may provide the recommended configuration to the user.

Abstract: A system is configured to modify a website to optimize the website for an organic search of a topic. The system includes a data management module configured to receive search terms for the topic, receive related terms to the search terms for the topic, and receive website input data. The system also includes a scanning module configured to scan and index web pages and web objects in the website and identify a subset of web pages and web objects associated with the search terms and the related terms. The system also includes an optimizing module configured to process the subset of web pages and web objects from the website by prioritizing the subset of web pages and web objects or measuring a metric with respect to the subset of web pages and web objects. The search terms and related terms are deployed into the subset of web pages and web objects on the website based on the processing.

Abstract: An open gateway framework addresses the need for efficient modularization, extension, and adaptation of device functionality, such as gateway or set top box functionally. The open gateway framework facilitates rapid third party application development on customer electronic devices, particularly for telecommunications service providers. The open gateway framework provides: portability between different devices; rapid development based on extended platform features with a custom Application Programming Interface (API); and deployment with little or no impact on device base software.

Abstract: Methods for efficiently publishing electronic versions of traditionally paper-based government forms and utilizing the electronic forms for web-based transactional services are disclosed. Standard paper-based government forms are automatically converted to XML format, including data fields for entry of information by customers. Multiple electronic forms are accessible to the customer at a single access point, such as a web site. At the web site, the customer selects a form for filing with any of a plurality of government agencies. When presented to the customer, the selected form is presented with some of its data fields being pre-populated according to information retrieved from a database and specific to that customer. The customer completes the form, and a back-end system integrated with the web site handles the completed form, determines the appropriate government agency for filing the form, and transmits it as a transaction to the determined government agency.

Each respective output portion is defined by context information. Each application processor is coupled with an associated respective output device for controlling the output device in producing the respective output portion. The state server provides the context information to the plurality of application processors. The architecture is extended to a more general system in which output devices produce a variety of outputs including device actuations, as well as video displays, and receive a variety of inputs.

Abstract: A data enrichment system may include an attribute relevance module to measure relevance of an attribute to a data object to be enriched. The data object may include the attribute including a known or an unknown value. An output value confidence module may calculate a confidence of an output value of a source used for enrichment of the data object. The output value may represent the known and/or unknown values of the attribute. The system may use the measured relevance of the attribute and the calculated confidence of the output value to determine assignment of the known or unknown values to the attribute.

Abstract: A plurality of topics encompassed in a document are determined and, for each such topic, a sentiment for that topic is likewise determined. Thereafter, credibility of the document is determined based on the resulting plurality of sentiments. In one embodiment, credibility of at least one target document is established by first determining, for each of a plurality of portions of the at least one target document, at least one topic encompassed in the portion to provide a plurality of target topics. Likewise, sentiment scores are determined for each portion. Thereafter, for each prior topic of a plurality of prior topics, a topic-sentiment score is determined based on sentiment scores corresponding to those portions of the plurality of portions having a target topic corresponding to the prior topic. A credibility index is determined based on the resulting plurality of topic-sentiment scores.

Abstract: An extended collaboration event monitoring system monitors users' interactions with computer software applications and detects and extracts events. The system intelligently determines whether the extracted events trigger undetected events or other action items. The system provides the extracted events to a social networking client that translates the extracted events and returns the translated data to the system. The system publishes the translated data to a social networking/collaboration interface embedded into the interface of the computer software application being utilized by one of the users. The system not only publishes the translated data corresponding to a user's interactions with the computer software application to that user's interface, but also publishes the user's interactions with the computer software application to interfaces corresponding to other project team members as well.
