Abstract: A data quality analysis and management system includes a data quality testing module to perform data quality tests on received data and determine data quality statistics from the execution of the data quality tests. The system also includes a data quality analysis and management engine to determine data quality cost metrics including cost of setup, cost of execution, internal data cost, and external data cost, and calculate a cost of data quality from the data quality cost metrics, and a reporting module to generate a data quality scorecard including statistics determined from execution of the data quality tests by the data quality testing module and the cost of data quality determined by the data quality analysis and management engine.

Abstract: A data mapping acceleration system may include a syntactic profile module to generate a syntactic profile of a data source to be mapped. A semantic classification module may generate a semantic classification of the data source. A similarity module may evaluate the syntactic profile and semantic classification to determine an overall similarity between attributes of data from the data source for mapping the data source.

This includes calculating an inclusion value for a content file based on at least one factor. The factor may be a social networking factor. Other factors are a content aging factor based on a content age value and a request length factor based on a content length value. Abstract: A system for determining a level of optimality for countries in which to perform a specified business function includes a data storage unit, a mapping engine and a mapping generator. The data storage stores a composite business environment index, a composite input resources index, and an innovation index. The mapping engine receives the specified business function and input factors related to the specified business function and selects at least two of the composite business environment index, the composite input resources index, and the innovation index based on the input factors. The matrix generator determines the level of optimality indicating a measure of success in achieving the specified business function for each of the countries based on scores in the at least two selected indices.

Abstract: Target setting, forecasting, and budgeting methods and tools are provided in which targets are selected at a high level of management through a process of strategic planning to select targets based on a combination of value expected to be added and manageability of the candidate targets, including computer simulations of increased cash flow expected to be generated by the target strategies. The strategically planned targets are then flowed down to the various levels of management, budgets are constructed around those target strategies, and the budgets are then consolidated and flowed upward. By defining organizational targets and then aligning those targets with strategic goals from the beginning, the number and scope of iterations of budget adjustments can be reduced.

Abstract: Methods, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for determining the status of a clinical database in order to characterize the quality of the database. The status may be based on the proportion of outstanding items in relation to relative milestones. A database rating index for a database is determined from risk factors, where the database rating index is indicative of a status of the clinical database and may be determined from risk factors, where each risk factor includes an issue parameter and a subject parameter, the issue parameter equals the number of occurrences for the corresponding issue, and the subject parameter corresponds to the number of patients associated with the issue parameter. The database rating index may be determined from one of a set of functions that depend on an issue health score and a subject health score.

Abstract: To provide cancelable biometrics, random projection transforms are used to produce transformed biometric data that may be used for authentication purposes. Each random projection transform provides a one-way or irreversible transformation such that the resulting transformed biometric data alone cannot be used to reconstruct the biometric data. Enrollment and backup transforms are produced based on enrollment biometric data. Authentication is possible by similarly transforming authentication biometric and then securely reconstructing the enrollment and authentication biometric data for comparison. In a similar manner, the enrollment and backup transforms may be used to reenroll biometric data when its corresponding transformed biometric data is compromised without requiring further user intervention.

Abstract: In a remote technical support system, a technical support controller receives an indication of a maximum number of support sessions to be serviced by a remote technician. Thereafter, the technical support controller receives a service request for a user device. The technical support controller determines if handling of the service request by the remote technician would cause the number of support sessions currently being handled by the remote technician to exceed the previously-indicated maximum number of support sessions. If not, the service request is added to a work queue for the remote technician. Each service request may be classified into categories such that only remote technicians associated with a given category can handle service requests for that category. Furthermore, the process of selecting a remote technician to handle a given service request can be completely automated or based on individual remote technicians selecting service requests from a preliminary queue.

Abstract: A test structure for testing graphical user interface applications (GAPs) modularizes test scripts by separating statements that define GAP test logic from statements that navigate to GAP objects. Composition rules weave the statements together to generate the test scripts that are executed to test the GAP. Because the test structure is modular, test logic can be reused across different GAPs and different versions of the same GAP. Reusing test logic is not only an efficient practice from a test engineer's point of view, but also leads to a reduction in test programming errors. The modular test structure also facilitates the efficient modification of test scripts to account for modifications in the underlying GAPs, greatly reducing the time, cost, and resource expenditures needed to arrive at updated test scripts.
