Abstract: Identifying a vehicle in a toll system includes accessing image data for a first vehicle and obtaining license plate data from the accessed image data for the first vehicle. A set of records is accessed. Each record includes license plate data for a vehicle. The license plate data for the first vehicle is compared with the license plate data for vehicles in the set of records. Based on the results of the comparison of the license plate data, a set of vehicles is identified from the vehicles having records in the set of records. Vehicle fingerprint data is accessed for the first vehicle. The vehicle fingerprint data for the first vehicle is based on the image data for the first vehicle. Vehicle fingerprint data for a vehicle in the set of vehicles is accessed. Using a processing device, the vehicle fingerprint data for the first vehicle is compared with the vehicle fingerprint data for the vehicle in the set of vehicles.

Abstract: One or more classification algorithms are applied to at least one natural language document in order to extract both attributes and values of a given product. Supervised classification algorithms, semi-supervised classification algorithms, unsupervised classification algorithms or combinations of such classification algorithms may be employed for this purpose. The at least one natural language document may be obtained via a public communication network. Two or more attributes (or two or more values) thus identified may be merged to form one or more attribute phrases or value phrases. Once attributes and values have been extracted in this manner, association or linking operations may be performed to establish attribute-value pairs that are descriptive of the product. In a presently preferred embodiment, an (unsupervised) algorithm is used to generate seed attributes and values which can then support a supervised or semi-supervised classification algorithm.

Abstract: A warranty management data processing system, method, and computer program are provided for determining relationships of data associated with warranty claims. Warranty data for a plurality of products is received and stored, and warranty service providers file repair/replace warranty claims against the warranties for the corresponding products. The repair/replace warranty claims are processed and repair/replace claims data is generated. The stored warranty data and the repair/replace claims data are analyzed, and a graphical representation of a distribution of the repair/replace claims data for one of the warranty service providers is generated.

Abstract: Project information relating to a project is received, the project information identifying a project type, an authorized write entity, and an authorized approval entity, and a valid metric is selected based at least on the project type, the valid metric measuring an aspect of performance of the project. Base measures corresponding to the valid metric are received from the authorized write entity, the base measures further including periodic base measures corresponding to at least one metric period, and aperiodic base measures corresponding to an aperiodic incident, and the valid metric is calculated based on the base measures. The base measures are sorted into excluded base measures and non-excluded base measures, organizational baseline data is imported, and an organizational indicator is calculated based on the non-excluded base measures and the organizational baseline data.

Abstract: A design tool assists with the conversion of legacy applications to web services. The design tool provides a flexible and visual design environment through which web services are defined, created, and deployed for controlling a legacy application. As a result, the legacy applications may be made accessible through web services to remote callers consonant with the wide spread adoption of web services. An organization may thereby extend the life-cycle of their legacy applications and continue to realize the benefit of substantial investment in the applications.

Abstract: GridBatch provides an infrastructure framework that hides the complexities and burdens of developing logic and programming application that implement detail parallelized computations from programmers. A programmer may use GridBatch to implement parallelized computational operations that minimize network bandwidth requirements, and efficiently partition and coordinate computational processing in a multiprocessor configuration. GridBatch provides an effective and lightweight approach to rapidly build parallelized applications using economically viable multiprocessor configurations that achieve the highest performance results.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method and system for creating advertising content and business listing content in a location-based services system. An advertising campaign or a business listing is created with a business remote terminal using a campaign management interface application or a business profile interface application. The advertising campaign or business listing is then transmitted to an advertiser portal. The advertiser portal then directs the advertising campaign or business listing to a create campaign application or a business profile application for processing. The advertising campaign or business listing is then stored in a business database or a business profile database using a data access component.

Abstract: A web service creation system converts legacy application functionality to web services. The system captures the operation of the legacy application through an accessibility layer that monitors operator interaction with the application. The system then defines, creates, and deploys a web service that provides control over the application operation. As a result, the legacy application may be made accessible through web services and an organization may continue to realize a return on their significant investment in the creation of the legacy application.

Abstract: A tool for creating a multi-dimensional data structure in order to integrate data from disparate data sources. The tool facilitates the mapping of a new multi-dimensional data structure to one or more disparate data sources and allows the documentation of gaps and methods for bridging those gaps that may be implemented at the disparate data source sites. The tool may also facilitate the creation of mapping files for historical data conversation. The tool may be used in many types of environments across multiple industries including financial and insurance industries.

Abstract: A priority routing process is provided for routing calls received via a call routing system to a live call center agent. Routing is determined through collection of Automated Call Distribution (“ACD”) real-time performance based data and subjective non-ACD data, normalization and weighting of the ACD and non-ACD data through application of certain algorithms resulting in a derived priority score for each call center, and selection of a call center based upon the highest priority score.

Abstract: A wearable computer system has a user interface with at least an audio-only mode of operating, and that is natural in appearance and facilitates natural interactions with the system and the user's surroundings. The wearable computer system may retrieve information from the user's voice or surroundings using a passive user interface. The audio-only user interface for the wearable computer system may include two audio receivers and a single output device, such as a speaker, that provides audio data directly to the user. The two audio receivers may be miniature microphones that collaborate to input audio signals from the user's surroundings while also accurately inputting voice commands from the user. Additionally, the user may enter natural voice commands to the wearable computer system in a manner that blends in with the natural phrases and terminology spoken by the user.

Abstract: A system, method, and article of manufacture are provided for technology sharing during demand and supply planning in a network-based supply chain environment. Steps included are providing locator and mapping capabilities utilizing the network. Technology that includes streaming audio, stereo audio and video data is also shared utilizing the network. Encryption capabilities for the technology are also included. Further, searching capabilities are provided utilizing the network in addition to logging events and passive user profiling. The event logging includes logging network operations. User profile data is automatically received and stored. User profile data includes user identity, state, preferences and interests. User profile data is also automatically exported to an active profile manager which automatically adds additional user profile data. Additional user profile data includes information related to whether the user is a service provider or a manufacturer and the location of user.

Abstract: Apparatuses, computer media, and methods for altering a camera image, in which the source image may be angularly displaced from a camera image. A plurality of points on the camera image is located and a mesh is generated. Compensation information based on the displacement is determined, and a reshaped image is rendered from the mesh, the compensation information, and the camera image. The camera image is reshaped by relocating a proper subset of the points on the camera image. Deformation vectors are applied to corresponding points on the mesh using the compensation information. A correction factor is obtained from an angular displacement and a translation displacement of the source image from the camera image. The deformation factor is multiplied by the compensation factor to form a deformation vector to compensate for angular and translational displacements of the source image from the camera image.

Abstract: A knowledge model discovery system is configured to provide an interactive view having simultaneously displayed sub-views that include a relational data element view and a geophysical view. Using the interactive view, a user may perform search and analysis of information organized with a knowledge management tool in conjunction with geographic information. The relational data element view may provide a relational visualization that displays data elements provided with the knowledge management tool as narrowed by the context of a user analysis. The geophysical view may provide a geographically based depiction of the same data elements using a similar context. The relational data element view and the geophysical view may be operated in coordination to maintain cohesiveness and similar context of the information displayed in the views.

Abstract: Image analysis techniques, including object recognition analysis, are applied to images obtained by one or more image capture devices deployed within inventory environments. The object recognition analysis provides object recognition data (that may include one or more recognized product instances) based on stored product (training) images. In turn, a variety of functionalities may be enabled based on the object recognition data. For example, a planogram may be extracted and compared to a target planogram, or at least one product display parameter for a product can be determined and used to assess presence of the product within the inventory environment, or to determine compliance of display of the product with a promotional objective. In yet another embodiment, comparisons may be made within a single image or between multiple images over time to detect potential conditions requiring response. In this manner, efficiency and effectiveness of many previously manually-implemented tasks may be improved.

Abstract: A system and method for indexing media files includes capturing a subject in a media file with a media capture device. The media capture device also receives index information from a media indexing beacon, wherein the index information is related to the subject in the media file. The system and method associates the index information with the media file. The media file may then be provided to a media storage device containing other media files having index information associated therewith, whereupon the media files are searchable based on the index information and pertinent media files may be retrieved.

Abstract: The present invention includes a system and method for combining television broadcast programming content with customized or personalized information and educational or entertainment content. The system includes a set-top box capable of receiving data transmissions and locally rendering video animation for display with, instead of and/or synchronized with television broadcast programs in a way that the television viewer sees a coherent seamless merging of the television program content and supplemental content sources in an indistinguishable format. Preferably, the viewer may interact in real-time with the enhanced television programming to provide a higher level of engagement and customization potential.

Abstract: A data processing system, method, and instructions executable on a computer inspect the quality of software code. A summary report is generated that summarizes aspects of the current status of a software project. The summary report may include which portions of code have been written, which have been edited to predetermined standards, and which remain to be written. Errors in the code may be identified. Warnings associated with portions of the code may be generated, as well as suggested changes to the code. For comparison, the suggested code changes may be displayed along side of the corresponding portions of the pre-existing code that the suggested code is intended to replace. Hard coded values may be automatically identified. Text elements corresponding to each hard coded value may be automatically created. Subsequently, each hard coded value may be automatically replaced by the corresponding text element. Revisions to pre-existing code may be inspected.

Abstract: A method and system for using individualized customer models when operating a retail establishment is provided. The individualized customer models may be generated using statistical analysis of transaction data for the customer, thereby generating sub-models and attributes tailored to customer. The individualized customer models may be used in any aspect of a retail establishment's operations, ranging from supply chain management issues, inventory control, promotion planning (such as selecting parameters for a promotion or simulating results of a promotion), to customer interaction (such as providing a shopping list or providing individualized promotions).

Abstract: A system, method and article of manufacture are provided for detecting emotion using statistics. First, a database is provided. The database has statistics including human associations of voice parameters with emotions. Next, a voice signal is received. At least one feature is extracted from the voice signal. Then the extracted voice feature is compared to the voice parameters in the database. An emotion is selected from the database based on the comparison of the extracted voice feature to the voice parameters and is then output.
