Abstract: A security apparatus for securing a portable electronic device to an immovable object includes a locking head having a base and a first linear element extending from the base. The first linear element is configured to be inserted into the aperture of the portable electronic device. The locking head also has a movable engagement element coupled to an end of the first linear element opposite from the base. The movable engagement element is configured to be inserted into the aperture of the portable electronic device with the first linear element. The movable engagement element is movable to a position in which the movable engagement element is perpendicular to the first linear element to secure the locking head to the portable electronic device. The security apparatus also includes a security device attached to the locking head and configured to engage the immovable object.

Abstract: A bag (10) includes a body having a first portion (26) and a second portion (30) defining a storage compartment therebetween. The bag also includes a zipper (18) with a slider (60) movable along the body and a pull (64). The bag further includes a bracket assembly (22) having a base (82) defining a recess for receiving a portion of the pull, and a cover (86) movable between an open position and a closed position, in which the cover substantially covers the recess to inhibit removal of the portion of the pull from the recess. The bracket assembly (22) also includes a first lock attachment point (90) configured to receive a first type of lock to secure the cover to the base, and a second lock attachment point (94) apart from the first lock attachment point (90). The second lock attachment point (94) is configured to receive a second type of lock to secure the cover to the base.

Abstract: A backpack including a body having a back surface configured to be positioned adjacent to a back of a wearer when the backpack is worn. The body further includes a front surface at least partially spaced away from the back surface to at least partially define an inner cavity therebetween. The backpack has a storage component positioned within the inner cavity and at least one shoulder strap coupled to the body and positionable over a shoulder of a wearer. The backpack further has a releasable fastener that is movable to an open position to provide access to the inner cavity and movable to a closed position to block access to the inner cavity. The back surface includes a hinge about which the back surface is predisposed to bend, and the backpack is configured such that when the releasable fastener is in the open position at least part of the back surface is pivotable about the hinge to provide access to the inner cavity. The hinge is positioned below the storage component.

Abstract: A shredding machine for domestic or office use having a feed passage 3 leading to a cutting mechanism 10, 11 powered by an electric motor, has a thickness measuring device 15 for measuring the thickness of bundles of paper fed through the feed passage and the machine is controlled by a microprocessor which receives signals from the thickness measuring device and prevents the cutting mechanism from being energised if the thickness measured is above a threshold determined by the microprocessor. The thickness gauging device is deactivated during shredding until the material is shredded so that rippling or flapping of the material within the feed passage will not cause false readings as to the amount of material inserted into the feed passage.

Abstract: A security apparatus for a portable electronic device includes a cable having a length, a first end, and a second end. The security apparatus also includes a lock head coupled to the first end of the cable. The lock head is configured to selectively engage the portable electronic device and is movable by the cable between a first position, in which the lock head is secured to the portable electronic device, and a second position, in which the lock head is unsecured from the portable electronic device. The security apparatus further includes an actuator assembly coupled to the second end of the cable and spaced a distance from the lock head along the length of the cable. The actuator assembly is operable to actuate the cable to move the lock head between the first position and the second position.
