Abstract: An electrolyte is introduced into an electrochemical device, passed, via a first corrugation feature, through a first electrode of the electrochemical device, passed through an ion permeable separator, and contacted with a second electrode. The first or second electrode comprises a second corrugation feature in fluid communication with the first corrugation feature to contact the electrolyte across a portion of an active surface of the first or second electrode.
Abstract: Sorbent compositions, comprising a solid sorbent, a dispersive agent, and optionally a capture agent for enhanced wet-Flue Gas Desulfurization (wFGD) or wet scrubber unit function in a flue gas pollutant control stream is disclosed. The sorbent composition may include a sorbent with a dispersive agent, designed to enhance the dispersion of the sorbent in an aqueous sorption liquid of a wet scrubber unit, and therefore may be especially useful in EGU or industrial boiler flue gas streams that include one or more wet scrubber units. The sorbent composition may also include a capture agent useful in sequestering mercury and bromine, as well as other contaminants that may include arsenic, selenium and nitrates.

Abstract: A composition containing a carbon monofluoride admixture is provided. The carbon monofluoride admixture is generally in the form of layer having opposing upper and lower surfaces. Usually, an ion conducting or a solid electrolyte layer is position on one of the upper or lower layers of the monofluoride admixture. In some configurations, the ion conducting or a solid electrolyte layer can be alkaline metal aluminum oxide or alkaline metal aluminum fluoride. The alkaline metal is commonly lithium, and the alkaline metal aluminum oxide or alkaline metal aluminum fluoride is more commonly MzAlXy (M is one of alkali metals, X=O, F), Z commonly can have a value from about 0.5 to about 10 and y can have a value from about 1.75 to about 6.5, more commonly z can have a value from about 1 to about 5 and y can have a value from about 2 to about 4. The carbon monofluoride admixture can include a polymeric binder and one or more of a conductive carbon black and conductive graphite.
Abstract: A composition of matter includes one or more functionalized vinylbenzyl components of the formula wherein n is an integer equal to or greater than 1 covalently connected to one or more R functional components; the one or more R functional groups selected from a group including one or more hydroxyl methyl (—CHOH—) moieties and/or derivatives thereof, one or more ethoxy (—CH2—CH2—O—) moieties and/or derivatives thereof, and one or more benzene derivatives; and ether links that connect the functionalized vinylbenzyl components and the R functional components.
Abstract: A composition is provided that includes a carbonaceous feed material to be combusted to generate an off-gas and an identifier. The identifier is associated with a predetermined composition, characteristic or property of the feed material or the off-gas.
Abstract: A polymerizable multifunctional antimicrobial monomer includes a quaternary ammonium cation group, wherein the quaternary ammonium cation ion group is bonded to functional groups and anions having structures chosen from the groups in which structure a) includes functional groups R1, R2, R3, R4 and anion X and structure b) includes functional groups R1, R3, R4, R5 and anion R2, and in which structure a) is one of an ammonium monomer adhesive (AMadh) configuration and an ammonium monomer silane (AMsil) configuration, and structure b) is an ammonium monomer miscible (AMmis) configuration.

Abstract: A sorbent composition that is useful for injection into a flue gas stream of a coal burning furnace to efficiently remove mercury from the flue gas stream. The sorbent composition may include a sorbent with an associated ancillary catalyst component that is a catalytic metal, a precursor to a catalytic metal, a catalytic metal compound or a precursor to a catalytic metal compound. Alternatively, a catalytic metal or metal compound, or their precursors, may be admixed with the coal feedstock prior to or during combustion in the furnace, or may be independently injected into a flue gas stream. A catalytic promoter may also be used to enhance the performance of the catalytic metal or metal compound.

Abstract: A computer-controlled method for forming a composition-controlled product using 3D printing includes disposing two or more liquid reactant compositions in respective two or more reservoirs; and mixing the two or more liquid reactant compositions, which in turn includes controlling by the computer a mass ratio of the mixed two or more liquid reactant compositions. The computer-controlled method further includes scanning, under control of the computer, a mixed liquid reactants nozzle over a substrate; depositing the mixed liquid reactant compositions onto the substrate; and operating, under control of the computer, a light source to polymerize the deposited mixed liquid reactant compositions.
Abstract: A modular light and accessory bar for a vehicle includes a top rail having a length selected to span a width of the vehicle along the top of the windshield, a right end, and a left end. A right side pillar is configured to be attached to the top rail at the right end thereof and extend downwardly therefrom. A left side pillar is configured to be attached to the top rail at the left end thereof and extend downwardly therefrom. The top rail is formed with at least one T-slot that extends along the length of the top rail. At least one bracket is configured to support a lighting fixture or accessory and is attachable to the T-slot of the top rail at a desired location therealong. The T-slot is configured to permit the at least one bracket to be slid to a desired location along the top rail and secured at that location. The top rail may be curved forwardly relative to the vehicle.

Abstract: A waste gas is contacted with a mercury removal agent to remove mercury and a flue gas conditioning agent to alter a resistivity and/or cohesivity of particulates. The flue gas conditioning agent can be substantially free of SO3 and/or comprise more than about 25 wt. % SO3, and/or the mercury removal agent can be substantially unaffected by the flue gas conditioning agent. An amount of mercury removed from the waste gas in the presence of the flue gas conditioning agent can be the same or more than that removed from the waste gas in the absence of the flue gas conditioning agent. An amount of the acid gas removed, by an acid gas removal agent, from the waste gas in the presence of the flue gas conditioning agent can be the same or more than that removed from the waste gas in the absence of the flue gas conditioning agent.
