Abstract: Method and apparatus for converting waste solid sustainable carbon material to chemical products is described herein. The methods add hydrocarbon derived from fossil sources to gas derived from gasifying waste solid sustainable carbon material to enhance hydrogen availability, and in some cases carbon availability, for production of the chemical products. Carbon dioxide made by the process is at least partially sequestered to yield a chemical manufacturing process with environmental burden substantially less than conventional processes. Use of the hydrocarbon boosts yield of final products.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring cells and cell confluence includes an imager for imaging a z-stack of bright field images and a processor for selecting a best focus bright field image at a z position of f microns in the z-stack of images. In the manner described herein, the processor selects a bright image n microns lower in the z-stack than the best focus bright field image and a dark image m microns higher in the stack than the best focus bright field image. The processor applies edge detection to the dark image to obtain an edge image and subtracts the edge image from the dark image and the processor applies an adaptive threshold to the bright image to create a mask and uses the adaptive thresholded image as seeds to evaluate the edge image to find cell candidates.

Abstract: Disclosed are a SERS nano-particle, a preparation method therefor, and an application thereof to a method for distinguishing CTCs from WBCs. The SERS nano-particle are formed by core magnetic particles, noble metal nano-particles, Raman signal molecules, hydrophilic molecules and target molecules. A method for distinguishing CTCs from WBCs comprises: enabling a SERS nano-particle to make contact with a to-be-detected solution containing CTCs and/or WBCs; performing incubation; then detecting SERS signal intensity of a cell combined with the SERS nano-particle; setting SERS signal intensity threshold; if SERS signal intensity of the cell combined with the SERS nano-particle exceeds SERS signal intensity threshold, determining the cell as CTS; otherwise, determining the cell as WBC. A ROC curve is used for the first time to assist the SERS technique in distinguishing CTCs from WBCs.

The receiving unit includes at least two receiving antennas, For determining the angle of arrival and/or the direction of arrival, a phase difference of arrival between signal responses at the receiving antennas is ascertained. The phase difference of arrival is ascertained at such a location in the signal responses that is still situated in the signal responses prior to a particular midpoint of a first signal path.
Abstract: An external rotation 3D lidar device and a simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) method comprises a 3D hybrid solid-state lidar device that is driven to rotate by an external motor. The device significantly improves the horizontal field of view of the lidar and can be mounted on a ground robot to comprehensively improve its 360-degree environment sensing capabilities. Error-state Kalman filtering and pose graph optimization are combined and the overall framework is divided into two parts: front-end odometry and back-end loop-closure optimization. Therefore, high-frequency odometry that meets the requirements of the robot can be output in real time and cumulative errors can be eliminated through the back-end loop-closure optimization.
