Publication number: 20140052808Abstract: Described are a system and method for lossless message delivery between two processing devices. Each device includes a remote direct memory access (RDMA) messaging interface. The RDMA messaging interface at the first device generates one or more messages that are processed by the RDMA messaging interface of the second device. The RDMA messaging interface of the first device outputs a notification to the second device that a message of the one or more messages is available at the first device. A determination is made that the second device has resources to accommodate the message. The second device performs an operation in response to determining that the processing device has the resources to accommodate the message.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 20, 2012Publication date: February 20, 2014Applicant: ADVANCED MICRO DEVICES, INC.Inventors: Venkata S. Publication number: 20140042997Abstract: An operational transconductance amplifier used in conjunction with a multiple chip voltage feedback technique allows multiple strings of LEDs and current sinks to be efficiently powered by a simple feedback oriented voltage regulator within an appliance. A connected series of differential amplifiers or multiplexors are used to monitor the voltages between the connected LEDs and the current sinks, in order to progressively determine the lowest voltage. The operational transconductance amplifier compares this voltage to a reference voltage and injects or removes current from the feedback node of a voltage regulator, thereby altering the voltage present at the feedback node. This causes the voltage regulator to adjust its output, ensuring that the current sinks of the LED strings have adequate voltage with which to function, even as the LEDs have different forward voltages and the strings are asynchronously enabled and disabled.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 9, 2013Publication date: February 13, 2014Applicant: ADVANCED ANALOGIC TECHNOLOGIES INCORPORATEDInventor: Kevin D'Angelo

Publication number: 20140040698Abstract: A processing system comprises one or more processor devices and other system components coupled to a stacked memory device having a set of stacked memory layers and a set of one or more logic layers. The set of logic layers implements a metadata manager that offloads metadata management from the other system components. The set of logic layers also includes a memory interface coupled to memory cell circuitry implemented in the set of stacked memory layers and coupleable to the devices external to the stacked memory device. The memory interface operates to perform memory accesses for the external devices and for the metadata manager. By virtue of the metadata manager's tight integration with the stacked memory layers, the metadata manager may perform certain memory-intensive metadata management operations more efficiently than could be performed by the external devices.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 6, 2012Publication date: February 6, 2014Applicant: ADVANCED MICRO DEVICES, INC.Inventors: Gabriel H. Publication number: 20140034548Abstract: Improvements in a semiconductor wafer container for reducing movement of semiconductor wafers within a wafer carrier using flexible wall segments, panels or flexible inserts in the base member's main inner containment diameter. These walls allow a vertical containment surface to move and capture the entire stack of wafers rather than a few wafers. The surface that contacts the wafers moves uniformly inward. The wafer stack is secured by reducing or eliminating the gap between the wafer container and the wafer stack. Further improvements include the addition of a ramped engagement surfaces in the top and/or bottom cover that provides mechanical advantage for easier assembly of the top and bottom cover. This design also allows for automated loading and unloading of the wafer stack because once the top cover is removed, the flexible walls spring back outward. Thus providing a small gap in which to freely remove the wafers.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 15, 2013Publication date: February 6, 2014Applicant: TEXCHEM ADVANCED PRODUCTS INCORPORATED SDN BHDInventors: JAMES D.
