Abstract: Methods for making coatings on an implantable device such as a drug-eluting stent comprising a polymer and nano or microparticles of a drug in slow-dissolving polymorph, implantable devices produced by the methods and methods of using the coatings are provided.
Abstract: Embodiments of a multi-processor architecture and method are described herein. Embodiments provide alternatives to the use of an external bridge integrated circuit (IC) architecture. For example, an embodiment multiplexes a peripheral bus such that multiple processors can use one peripheral interface slot without requiring an external bridge IC. Embodiments are usable with known bus protocols.

Abstract: A system for controlling multiple strings of LEDs includes a group of LED driver IC's, each of which includes a current sense feedback (CSFB) sample latch for storing a digital representation of the forward-voltage drop across a controlled LED string. Each CSFB latch is coupled to a register within a serial lighting interface (SLI) bus that both originates and terminates at an interface IC. As the data on the SLI bus is shifted into the interface IC, the interface IC selects the CSFB word that represents the highest forward-voltage drop of any of the controlled LED strings, which is then used by the interface IC to generate a CSFB signal for setting the appropriate supply voltage for the controlled LED strings.

Abstract: A surface protection film has moderate adhesive properties for bonding to adherend bodies with a rough surface, a rear surface with good slipping properties, and blocking resistance and good unwinding properties. The surface protection film has a laminated structure formed at least of an adhesive layer and a back layer, wherein the adhesive layer is formed mainly of a styrene-based elastomer while the back layer is formed mainly of a propylene-based resin containing 0.5 wt % to 10 wt % of a fluorine-containing compound having a polyfluorohydrocarbon group and a polyoxy ethylene group.

Abstract: A semiconductor structure and method of manufacturing that has integrally-formed enhanced thermal management. During operation of a semiconductor device, electron flow between the source and the drain creates localized heat generation. A containment gap is formed by selectively removing a portion of the back side of the semiconductor device substrate directly adjacent to a localized heat generation area. A thermal management material is filled in the containment gap. This thermal management material enhances the thermal management of the semiconductor device by thermally coupling the localized heat generation area to a heat sink. The thermal management material may be a Phase Change Material (PCM) having a heat of fusion effective for absorbing heat generated in the localized heat generation area by the operation of the semiconductor device for reducing a peak operating temperature of the semiconductor device.

Abstract: A method and system for video processing is disclosed. A device driver interface (DDI) call for flipping or updating an overlay may be skipped or ignored, and may not be used by a user mode driver to pass overlay properties to a kernel mode driver (KMD). Instead, the overlay properties may be passed to the KMD at rendering time during a DDI call for rendering. The user mode driver may call a DDI for rendering an overlay frame while simultaneously passing the overlay property data to the KMD. The KMD may store the overlay property data in an overlay flip queue, program the overlay hardware per the overlay property data stored in the overlay flip queue, and flip the overlay in response to the vertical synchronization deferred procedure call.

Abstract: An automated method and apparatus for automatic dialog replacement having an optional I/O interface converts an A/V stream into a format suitable for automated processing. The I/O interface feeds the A/V stream to a dubbing engine for generating new dubbed dialog from said A/V stream. A dubber/slicer replaces the original dialog with the new dubbed dialog in the A/V stream. The I/O interface then transmits the A/V stream that is enhanced with a new dubbed dialog.
Abstract: An LED package includes an LED die and a lens module. The lens module covers the LED die. Light emitted from the LED die travels through the lens module. The lens module includes a concave lens and a convex lens with a smaller radial dimension than that of the concave lens. The concave lens covers the LED die. The convex lens is attached on a center of a surface of the concave lens away from the LED die. Optical axes of the concave lens and the convex lens are both collinear with a central axis of the LED die. Light from the LED die is diverged by the lens module to a peripheral side of the LED package.

Abstract: A time-temperature indicator (TTI) uses polymer hardening properties to “set” or retain indications of temperature history. The TTI includes a mesh layer affixed to a thermo-conductive adhesive layer and a photonic crystal patterned film affixed to the mesh layer. The photonic crystal shows a property of bandgap shift vs temperature and responds to a predetermined range of temperatures to provide a visible indication of the range of temperatures. A hardener pouch is affixed to one end of the mesh layer and releases hardener in response to an initiating event, so that the photonic crystal material responds to the hardener by presenting a fixed state.

Abstract: A computing device initiates a transaction, corresponding to an application, which includes operations for accessing data stored in a shared memory and buffering alterations to the data as speculative alterations to the shared memory. The computing device detects a transaction abort scenario corresponding to the transaction and notifies the application regarding the transaction abort scenario. The computing device determines whether to abort the transaction based on instructions received from the application regarding the transaction abort scenario. When the transaction is to be aborted, the computing device restores the transaction to an operation prior to accessing the data stored in the shared memory and buffering alterations to the data as speculative alterations to the shared memory. When the transaction is not to be aborted, the computing device enables the transaction to continue.
