  • Patent number: 9896928
Abstract: A control system for generating and utilizing at least one or more addressed datagrams that communicate information to and from devices along piping assemblies comprising; one or more transmitters, one or more receivers, and one or more controllers, wherein the transmitters transmit information via one or more addressed datagrams encoded within a working medium to one or more receivers among the piping assemblies, is described. Transmitters convert datagrams into signals that are transmitted within the working medium and the receivers receive signals from the transmitters and also convert signals from the working medium which is converted back into datagrams. The controllers receive and decode the datagrams so that the controllers selectively communicate and perform logical operations on piping assembly devices according to directions received from the addressed datagrams.

  • Patent number: 9899074
Abstract: A data processing system includes a memory channel and a data processor coupled to the memory channel. The data processor is adapted to access at least one rank and has refresh logic. In response to an activation of the refresh logic, the data processor generates refresh cycles to a bank of the memory channel. The data processor selects one of a first state corresponding to a first auto-refresh command that causes the data processor to auto-refresh the bank, and a second state corresponding to a second auto-refresh command that causes the data processor to auto-refresh a selected subset of the bank. The data processor initiates a switch between the first state and the second state in response to the refresh logic detecting a first condition related to the bank, and between the second state and the first state in response to the refresh logic circuit detecting a second condition.

  • Patent number: 9899696
Abstract: Electrolyte solutions for flow batteries and other electrochemical systems can contain a dissolved iron hexacyanide complex as an active material. Alkaline buffering can be desirable in such electrolyte solutions to promote stability of the active material. However, the buffer material can undesirably decrease solubility of the iron hexacyanide complex to unacceptable levels in some instances. Compositions with increased concentrations of iron hexacyanide can include an aqueous solution containing a dissolved iron hexacyanide complex, and a solid buffer material in contact with the aqueous solution. The solid buffer material is present at an amount greater than that needed to produce a saturation concentration of the solid buffer material in the aqueous solution. Flow batteries and other electrochemical systems can contain the compositions as an electrolyte solution.

  • Patent number: 9899992
Abstract: A circuit adapts to the occurrence of metastable states. The circuit inhibits passing of the metastable state to circuits that follow, by clock gating the output stage. In order to determine whether or not to gate the clock of the output stage, two detect circuits may be used. One circuit detects metastability and another circuit detects metastability resolved to a wrong logic level. The results from one or both detector circuits are used to gate the next clock cycle if needed, waiting for the metastable situation to be resolved.

Abstract: Techniques for improving translation lookaside buffer (TLB) operation are disclosed. A particular entry of the TLB is to be updated with data associated with a large page size. The TLB updates replacement policy data for that TLB entry for that large page size to indicate that the TLB entry is not the least-recently-used. To prevent smaller pages from evicting the TLB entry for the large page size, the TLB also updates replacement policy data for that TLB entry for the smaller page size to indicate that the TLB entry is not the least-recently-used.

  • Publication number: 20180046463
Abstract: A system and method for load queue (LDQ) and store queue (STQ) entry allocations at address generation time that maintains age-order of instructions is described. In particular, writing LDQ and STQ entries are delayed until address generation time. This allows the load and store operations to dispatch, and younger operations (which may not be store and load operations) to also dispatch and execute their instructions. The address generation of the load or store operation is held at an address generation scheduler queue (AGSQ) until a load or store queue entry is available for the operation. The tracking of load queue entries or store queue entries is effectively being done in the AGSQ instead of at the decode engine. The LDQ and STQ depth is not visible from a decode engine's perspective, and increases the effective processing and queue depth.
