Abstract: The present invention provides an image receptor element for dye diffusion transfer imaging processes, which comprises a support and an image-receiving layer incorporating a hydrophilic colloid and a mordanting polymer having quaternary ammonium groups and comprising polyalkylpiperidine units, which polymer is capable of fixing acid dyes transferred to said image-receiving layer by diffusion. The present invention also provides a monosheet light-sensitive color photographic element comprising as integrating constituents a light-sensitive element and such an image receptor element.

Abstract: A processing apparatus with several liquid stations for the wet processing of image-wise exposed photographic elements, e.g. sheets, wherein the different processing liquids are provided in different liquid compartments (85, 86, 87) of the processing cassette (72), that has openings (88,89,90,91) that are sealed by membranes (92), and wherein the rinsing water compartment is provided with perforate partitions (94) with a scavenging agent for removal of fixing agent ions and complexed silver ions from the rinsing water in said compartment.

Abstract: In a device for loading and unloading X-ray film cassettes at least one air blowing nozzle is provided which is positioned at the front open end of the cassette below the film inserting rollers so as to generate an air cushion between the film being inserted into the cassette and the bottom wall of the cassette during the insertion process.

Abstract: An apparatus for winding a video tape on to the spools of a cassette comprises a winder for winding the video tape on to spools and a "delivery" device for delivering a pair of spools to the winder. The "delivery" device comprises a movable cylinder containing two pistons, which cylinder acts on a swivel arm, the free end of which arm carries a rotatably mounted arm. This arm has a pair of holders for holding the pair of spools and a guide device for guiding the tape leader situated between the spools. The transfer device described above transfers the pair of spools from the container to the pins of the winder and from the winder back to the container after the winding process.

Abstract: A colored original to be reproduced is scanned point-by-point in each of the three primary colors. The resulting imaging signals are processed to generate a luminance signal and a pair of chrominance signals. The luminance signal is branched into a high-pass filter channel and a low-pass filter channel. The high-pass portion of the luminance signal is amplified in accordance with a sublinear characteristic function which causes signals of small amplitude to be amplified to a greater degree than signals of large amplitude. The low-pass portion of the luminance signal is modified per a non-linear characteristic gradation function. The thus-modified high-pass and low-pass portions of the luminance signal are added to yield an enhanced luminance signal. The enhanced luminance signal is divided by the original luminance signal and each of the chrominance signals is multiplied by the resulting quotient. This automatially compensates for the changes in color saturation which accompany changes in brightness.

Abstract: A method for adjusting the color saturation during electronic image processing, in which a two-dimensional original image is electro-optically scanned along rows and columns for three primary colors and the resulting image signals are transformed into a luminance signal Y and two color-difference or chrominance signals C1, C2. A pre-selected adjustment of color saturation is used, in which, in accordance with a non-linear characteristic curve, small chrominance signals C1, C2 are more amplified than larger chrominance signals C1, C2 corresponding to a higher degree of saturation.

Abstract: Imino derivatives of 4-halogen-pyrazolone-5 (formula I) are valuable intermediate products for the preparation of 7-halogen-pyrazolo[3,2-c]-s-triazole magenta couplers. ##STR1## In formula I, X denotes chlorine or bromine,R.sup.1 denotes H, alkyl with 1 to 18 carbon atoms, preferably 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group;R.sup.2 denotes H, NH.sub.2 or NJ-CO-R.sup.3, andR.sup.3 denotes alkyl with 1 to 18 carbon atoms, aralkyl, aryl, a heterocyclic group or COOH.

Abstract: Compounds corresponding to the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 denote alkyl groups with 1 to 8 carbon atoms, an optionally substituted alkenyl group with 2 to 5 carbon atoms, an optionally substituted cycloalkyl group with 5 or 6 carbon atoms or an optionally substituted aryl group or R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 together represent the ring members required to form a 5- or 6-membered cycloalkyl or cycloalkenyl group, are suitable for use as antifoggants in photographic recording materials.

Abstract: A light-tight film reel which is positionable on a spindle having a driving connection for rotating said reel, comprising a cylindrical hub-core assembly which includes a central bore in the core for locating the reel on the spindle, at least one separate cavity isolated from the bore disposed between the bore and the periphery of the hub, at least one film threading axial slots in the hub periphery that communicates with the cavity and an axially displaceable film locking member fitting within the cavity.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for improving the perceptibility of details on a hard-copy of a color image and for matching the color of a displayed image and a color hard-copy of the same image. In addition to the recording of the color information, at least one white light exposure modulated by the information of at least one color separation record is performed.

Abstract: In a heat developable color photographic recording material containing, in a common layer of binder, a light-sensitive silver halide, optionally combined with a substantially light-sensitive silver salt, and a non-diffusible dye releasing compound, the binder of the said layer consists to an extent of at least 30% by weight of a polyurethane containing anionic groups. The recording material has a considerably increased sensitivity combined with improved D.sub.min /D.sub.max relationship.

Abstract: A process for developing a photographic material containing on a support an image-wise exposed silver halide emulsion layer of which the silver halide is substantially silver chloride and in which the photographic material before its exposure contains already at least one silver halide developing agent in a hydrophilic colloid binder in waterpermeable relationship with the silver halide, said process containing the step of contacting the exposed photographic material with an aqueous alkaline liquid, called activator liquid, being initially substantially free from developing agent(s), said contacting being not followed by a silver complex diffusion transfer processing, characterized in that said aqueous alkaline liquid contains a primary and/or secondary amine.

Abstract: Disclosed are food smoker for household or restaurant use and method for food smoking with the smoker. The food smoker comprises a container containing a liquid wood or pellet(s) onto which the liquid wood is adsorbed, which is installed in the bottom part of the smoker body, a means for heating the container, and a means for holding a material (such as food) to be smoked in the inside of the smoker body. The food smoker is preferably provided with a means capable of radiating far infrared rays by the heat of the heating means at least around the holding means. The liquid wood can be recovered by distillation or solvent extraction of wood chips. For food smoking, the liquid wood or pellet(s) onto which the liquid wood is adsorbed is(are) heated in a container of the smoker body containing the food to be smoked, whereupon the volatilization rate of the liquid wood is controlled by the choice of the heating temperature and the total amount of the liquid wood.

Abstract: Method of making a personal identification document exhibiting textual data and a portrait of the person, characterized in that it comprises the steps of forming a monochrome photographic textual image in a monochrome photographic silver halide material, forming a color photographic portrait image in a color photographic silver halide material, producing from these images corresponding monochrome and colored diffusion transfer images in image-receiving layers on opposite sides of a common receptor sheet, said receptor sheet, which bears the resulting diffusion transfer images, constituting a said personal identification document. The invention also provides a receptor sheet for use in such method.

Abstract: A clamping device for hubs for winding magnetic tapes consists of a rotatably mounted block (1) mounted on a circular disc (2), the external circumference of which block is adapted to the internal bore of the winding core (6), said block containing, as clamping elements, two bushings (5,5') situated opposite each other, each of which bushings has two balls (9,9') which bear on the outside against the collar of the respective bushing (5,5') and on the inside against each other by way of a spring (10), the clamping elements being situated at some distance from the circular disc (2) so that the reel hub (6) mounted in position bears against the portion of the ball projecting from the collar of the bushing (5,5') and the bent over edge of the reel hub (6) is pressed by this spherical portion against the abutment (11) formed by the outer circumference of the circular disc (2).

Abstract: An injection moulding tool with optimum temperature distribution as the result of an improved tempering duct system is obtained if the tool inserts (10, 11) are each made up of two or more plates, tempering ducts (12, 12', 12") are worked in from the external faces (F1, F2, F3), on which the parts are subsequently joined by the diffusion welding method. An injection moulding tool for VHS reel hubs produced by this method produces moulds for injection moulding with substantially reduced wobble and a reduced cycle time.

Abstract: Apparatus for affording access to a dark chamber in a housing wherein successive customer films are spliced together has a door with a window which is normally sealed by a pair of sealing devices one of which has a cuff with two normally closed openings for insertion of hands and the other of which has two overlapping curtain panels. The operator inserts the hands into the openings of the cuff and thereupon pushes one or both panels aside to reach into the dark chamber when the need arises. The panels seal the chamber from the outside even if some light penetrates through one or both openings of the cuff, and the openings are filled by the wrists of the operator when the panel or panels are deformed to afford access to a defective film or cassette for film in the dark chamber.
