Abstract: A power supply is disclosed for an electronic tripping unit and, in particular a circuit breaker for low voltages, which is connected on the outgoer side to a load via whose load resistance a direct current or alternating current flows. An electronic tripping unit initiates the disconnection of the associated contact elements in the event of an overcurrent and/or short-circuit current, and a voltage tap taps off a voltage on the conductor in order to supply power to the tripping unit. In order to ensure that power is always supplied to the tripping unit, the power supply includes, in at least one embodiment, an inductance between the load and the voltage tap, which inductance is connected in the conductor and is of such a magnitude that, when the current changes over time during the course of a short circuit, the voltage which is tapped off as the voltage drop across the inductance ensures the supply of electrical power to the tripping unit at least for a minimum time.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for protecting a processing system, in particular a sorting system for postal items having at least two working planes above one another, is operable in a protection state and an access state. When the protection apparatus is in the protection state, a covering prevents access to the working planes from an access side. A closure of a passage opening in the covering is locked. After receiving an access signal, the protection apparatus changes to the access state. A drive then moves the covering so that the passage opening, following the movement, is in front of the working plane specified by the access signal. The closure is unlocked. A contact sensor monitors the closure and signals when the closure is closed. Closing the closure triggers a protection signal. The protection apparatus then changes to the protection state. The closure is locked. A processing system is also provided.

Abstract: A fire detector has a detection unit working on the optical scattered-light principle, as well as an electronic evaluation unit. An acoustic and/or optical warning device outputs an acoustic and/or optical alarm when a fire is detected. The fire detector has an energy storage device, in particular a battery, for the autarkic supply of electrical power to the fire detector as well as a voltage measuring unit for measuring a battery voltage present at the energy storage device. A warning device outputs an acoustic warning if the battery voltage falls below a first voltage threshold. The fire detector also has a sensor sensitive to ambient light and a device for suppressing the output of the acoustic warning if the ambient light falls below a predefinable brightness threshold. The detection unit is an open scattered-light detection unit with a detection space outside the fire detector and the sensor sensitive to ambient light is at the same time an optical receiver of the scattered-light detection unit.

Abstract: An electrical switch with an at least two-part housing is disclosed, with a first housing part and second housing part connected to the first housing part, and with the first housing part including a connecting section for connection of a motor drive. In at least one embodiment, the switch includes at least one connecting screw which includes a first thread joining together the first and the second housing part and, on a screw end section facing away from the second housing part, includes a second thread projecting from the first housing part, onto which the motor drive can be screwed indirectly or directly.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for resolving a hydrocarbon-rich, nitrogen-containing feed fraction (1, 1?), preferably natural gas, is described, wherein the feed fraction (1, 1?) is separated by rectification (T1, T2) into a nitrogen-enriched fraction (5) and a hydrocarbon-rich, nitrogen-depleted fraction (10), and wherein the separation by rectification proceeds in a rectification column consisting of a preseparation column (T1) and a main separation column (T2). A liquid fraction (6) is taken off from the main separation column (T2) above the feed-in site(s) of the fraction (7, 7?, 7?) that is taken off from the preseparation column (T1) and fed to the main separation column (T2), and the liquid fraction (6) is applied to the preseparation column (T1) as reflux.

Abstract: A system and method for time synchronization in a communication network. The communication network includes a plurality of network nodes each having a respective internal clock, and a reference node having a reference clock and each configured transmits synchronization messages within the communication network. At least one network node is configured to determine an estimated reference clock time discretely upon arrival of a synchronization message at the at least one network node. To that end, the at least one network node includes a controller for determining a controlled time comprising a time-continuous estimate of the discreetly estimated reference clock time. The controller is configured to determine the controlled time based on an input that is extrapolated to an execution time instant of the controller, where the execution time instant is separated from the time instant of arrival of the synchronization message by a delay (?tdelay).

Abstract: An RFID transponder comprising a housing for mounting on or in a workpiece having a metallic surface, where the RFID transponder is provided for inductive coupling to an RFID reader, where that side of the RFID transponder which is to face the metallic surface is provided with a ferrite component for guiding the magnetic flux from and to a side of the RFID transponder which is to face away from the metallic surface, and where the ferrite component comprises a composite material composed of a first plastic and ferrite powder and forms a first part of the housing, which is to face the metallic surface. Such an RFID transponder is small and robust and additionally simple to produce.

In the feeding mode, the buffer section transports to the transporting-away device at a feeding buffer speed which depends on the feeding speed. In the transporting-away mode, the buffer section transports to the transporting-away device at a transporting-away buffer speed which depends on the transporting-away speed. The transporting-away device transports the articles away at a predetermined transporting-away speed.

Abstract: A circuit-breaker is disclosed, in particular a low-voltage circuit breaker. In at least one embodiment, the circuit breaker includes a Rogowski current transformer for measuring a current in a conductor of the circuit-breaker, the Rogowski current transformer including at least three coil sections electrically connected in series and arranged to form a closed polygon, two coil sections in each case in the corner region of the closed polygon forming a joint region not taken in by the coil sections. In order to provide, for a circuit-breaker, an inexpensive current transformer with a high measuring accuracy which is made up of coil sections, in at least one embodiment at least one of the joint regions formed has a ferromagnetic material for shielding the joint region against magnetic interference fields.

Abstract: An embodiment of the invention generally relates to an FET-based detector for carbon monoxide which is based on two sensitive layers. In at least one embodiment, the first of the sensitive layers is catalytically active and therefore reacts equally to alcohols, in particular ethanol, and carbon monoxide. The second of the sensitive layers is not catalytically active and therefore does not react to carbon monoxide, but only to ethanol. The concentration of carbon monoxide can be deduced from the comparison of the signals of the two layers. The two sensitive layers are implemented via similar metal oxide layers, an additional layer having a catalyst such as palladium being provided for the catalytically active layer. Alternatively, two different layers can be used, one of which is already catalytically active without an additional layer.

Abstract: A drivetrain for a hybrid vehicle includes an internal combustion engine, a transmission and electric machine, and an electrical energy store. The electric machine is usable as a generator for charging the electrical energy store and/or as a motor while discharging the electrical energy store. The electrical energy store is implemented as a flywheel mass accumulator having an assigned second electric machine. The flywheel mass accumulator is able to be mechanically coupled to the internal combustion engine via a separate clutch, and thus also is mechanically chargeable and dischargeable.
