  • Patent number: 9804596
Abstract: An electronic monitoring system is described that receives data indicating a location of a wireless beacon device that has been detected by a beacon monitoring device, and an identifier that is associated with the wireless beacon device, wherein the identifier corresponds to a mobile asset associated with a property. A location of the wireless beacon device is determined to be outside of an area that defines permissible locations of the mobile asset. Based on the determination, the electronic monitoring system determines to dispatch a robotic device to the location of the wireless beacon device. A particular robotic device to dispatch is identified based on the determination to dispatch a robotic device to the location of the wireless beacon device. A command is transmitted to the particular robotic device that instructs the particular robotic device to navigate to the location of the wireless beacon device.

  • Patent number: 9792422
Abstract: Techniques are described for providing control of a security system. A user is authorized in the security system and user identification inputs, provided through an input unit of a personal mobile device of the authorized user of the security system, are accessed. One or more signatures of the authorized user are defined and stored in a signature map. Subsequently, user identification input is received from an unauthenticated user using the personal mobile device. The user identification input received from the unauthenticated user is compared to one or more defined signatures in the signature map. The unauthenticated user is determined to be the authorized user if the received user identification input matches one of the defined signatures. The unauthenticated user is allowed to control the security system based on the determination that the unauthenticated user is the authorized user.

  • Patent number: 9787341
Abstract: A circuit for direct current (DC) offset estimation comprises a quantile value circuit and a signal processor. The quantile value circuit determines a plurality of quantile values of an input signal and includes a plurality of quantile filters. Each quantile filter includes a comparator, a level shifter, a monotonic transfer function component, and a latched integrator. The comparator compares the input signal and a quantile value. The level shifter shifts the output of the comparator. The monotonic transfer function component determines the magnitude of the shifted signal and provide a transfer function signal. The latched integrator suppresses transient characteristics of the transfer function signal and provide the quantile value. The signal processor is configured to calculate a weighted average of the quantile values to yield a DC offset estimate.

  • Patent number: 9781348
Abstract: Movements of a pan and tilt camera may be controlled by reorienting the camera in response to discrete information obtained by the camera from a related but independent device such as a sensor so that the camera can capture video of events of potential interest to a user. Such sensors can respond to multiple stimuli such as, for example, sound, motion, light, pressure, humidity, and/or the like. The cameras can include, for example, pan and tilt and zoom (PTZ) cameras that can be used in monitoring and surveillance operations. For example, the pan and tilt camera can be used as a surveillance camera at a home, business, vacation, or any other property.

  • Patent number: 9767680
Abstract: In some implementations, techniques are described for detecting abnormal installations in a property monitored by a monitoring (e.g., security) system. For instance, an aberration engine may be used to detect an abnormal sensor or system installation within a property based on comparing detected installation data against local installation patterns of local providers within a certain proximity to the property. In some examples, the attributes (e.g., installation time, components used, number of tests performed, etc.) of a monitoring system installation, including installation of components of the monitoring system, may be compared to average installation times of other nearby installations to detect abnormalities in the installation.

  • Patent number: 9709431
Abstract: In some implementations, a system obtains activity data for a sump pump associated with a property where the obtained activity data indicates a present operational status of the sump pump. The system obtains water level data associated with the property where the water level data indicates a level of water within the property, determines that the activity data indicates that the sump pump is operating and that the water level within the property satisfies a water level risk threshold, and, in response to the determination that the activity data indicates that the sump pump is operating and that the water level within the property satisfies a water level risk threshold, provides a notification that the property is at risk of suffering water damage.

  • Patent number: 9696055
Abstract: Controller technology, in which data specifying a user preference relating to an environmental parameter for a property is received. Based on data collected by a monitoring system, a location of one or more users within the property is identified. Environmental condition data for the property is accessed, the environmental condition data including environmental condition data for the location of the users within the property and other unoccupied locations within the property. The environmental condition data for the property is analyzed with respect to the preference relating to the environmental parameter for the property. • Patent number: 9672717
Abstract: An electronic system is described that receives data collected by a monitoring system, where the monitoring system includes a notification device that is tunable between different states that discreetly convey contextual alerts based on prior association of the states with contextual alerts. The system analyzes the monitoring system data against one or more event profiles that define events relating to the property or one or more users of the property. Based on the analysis of the monitoring system data, a particular event is identified. Information that specifies contextual alerts to be provided by the monitoring system that each correspond to an event defined by the one or more event profiles is accessed. A particular contextual alert that corresponds to the particular event is identified. The system causes output of the particular contextual alert at the notification device included in the monitoring system by changing a state of the notification device.

  • Patent number: 9652971
Abstract: Techniques are described for distributing, to a distributed network of central stations, alarm events detected in monitoring system data collected by sensors included in monitoring systems located at monitored properties. A system receives monitoring system data collected by sensors included in monitoring systems located at monitored properties, tracks alarm events detected within the monitoring system data, and generates, for central station servers in a distributed network of central stations, load profiles that reflect a volume of alarm events being handled at each of the central station servers at a particular period of time. The system determines capacities to handle additional alarm events for the central station servers, determines relative priorities for the central station remote servers based on the determined capacities, and directs subsequent alarm events to the central station servers based on the relative priorities.
