    Abstract: A process for manufacturing a road-bound, horizontally fitted vehicle body with a roof unit having an outer skin and an inward facing ceiling, or an outer skin and an inward facing ceiling with a ceiling frame, whereby the roof unit is a unit ready for installation, and a basic structure having longitudinal frames, the ceiling and the outer skin along with the basic structure having joining configurations that mate with each other at mutual places for joining. The process includes the steps of introducing the roof unit containing the outer skin with joining configurations, the ceiling or the ceiling and the ceiling frame, in each case with fittings already mounted in place, through an opening between the longitudinal frames, bringing the roof unit into contact with corresponding, matching configuration points of the longitudinal frames by an upward movement and permanently jointing the roof unit there.

    Abstract: A reflector, with high total reflection, resisting mechanical stress, and having a reflector body on which the following components are superimposed (a) a functional coating, e.g., a varnish, (b) a reflection layer structure composed of a reflecting metallic layer and, optionally, one or more transparent ceramic layers, having for instance an optical depth of &lgr;/2, applied on the top of the metallic layer. The reflection layer structure is a protection layer as a surface layer. The protection layer is a silicon oxide of general formula SiOx where x is a number from 1.1 to 2.0, or is an aluminum oxide of formula Al2O3, with a thickness of 3nm or more. The protection layer protects the underlying layers from mechanical stresses. In the DIN 58196 wipe test, the protected layer shows no damage after 50 test cycles, each with 100 wiping strokes.

    Abstract: A film composite for packaging purposes. The film composite efficiently blocks the passage of water vapor and gas after sterilization in a water bath or in water vapor at temperatures of more than 90° C., and is a film consisting of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) with a coextruded layer consisting of polyethlene-2,6-naphthalate (PEN) on at least one side. The film has a 10 nm to 200 nm thick ceramic layer on at least one of the sides that are coated with PEN. The layer is produced by simultaneously vaporizing silicon dioxide (SiO2) and metallic silicon in a vacuum. The layer consists of SiOx, x being a number between 0.9 and 2. The composite film blocks the passage of water vapor and gases to a large extent after sterilization in a water bath or in water vapor at temperatures of more than 90° C.

The first grooves extend over the whole breadth of the first side walls and the second grooves extend over only a middle part of the second side walls leaving a region free at both edges. The first grooves are arranged in pairs in first planes and the second grooves are arranged in pairs in second planes situated between two subsequent first planes.

    Abstract: A casting alloy of the AlMgSi type comprises Magnesium 3.0 to 7.0 wt. % Silicon 1.7 to 3.0 wt. % Manganese 0.2 to 0.48 wt. % Iron 0.15 to 0.35 wt. % Titanium as desired max. 0.2 wt. % Ni 0.1 to 0.4 wt % and aluminum as the rest along with production related impurities, individually at most 0.02 wt. %, in total at most 0.2 wt. %, with the further provision that the magnesium and silicon are present in the alloy in a Mg:Si weight ratio of 1.7:1, corresponding to the composition of the quasi binary eutectic made up of the solid state phases Al and Mg2Si, whereby the deviation from the exact composition of the quasi-binary eutectic amounts to at most −0.5 to +0.3 wt. % for magnesium and −0.3 to +0.5 wt. % for silicon the finely dispersed precipitates of the intermetallic phase Mg2Si results in high ductility.

The walls can be moved to produce the compact casting mold after insertion of the cooling ribs in the receiver gaps.
