Abstract: An enhanced alert system provides for message delivery via unlicensed wireless spectrum (e.g., LTE-U or WiFi) alternatively or supplementary to message delivery via licensed wireless spectrum. Advantageously, the alert system can provide access to certain local areas not covered or insufficiently covered by licensed spectrum and can provide opportunistic traffic offloading from licensed spectrum.
Abstract: A power source is configured to apply a first alternating electric excitation signal to an oscillation blade device at a first excitation frequency causing a blade of the oscillation blade device to oscillate at a first oscillation frequency. A current detector is configured to measure amplitude values of the current supplied by the power source to the oscillation blade device. A processor is configured to assess a plurality of successive peak values of the measured amplitudes, determine a second oscillation frequency for the blade if variation in the successive peak values is detected and send a command to the power source to apply a second alternating electric excitation signal to the oscillation blade device at a second excitation frequency which matches the determined second oscillation frequency.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method, network device and terminal device for mobility management in a beam-based millimeter wave communication system. In one embodiment of the present disclosure, there is provided a method for mobility management implemented by a network device in a beam-based millimeter wave communication system. The method comprises: receiving, from a terminal device, a request for mobility management; allocating dedicated resources for transmitting a beam switching request in response to the request for the mobility management; transmitting a first indication of the allocated dedicated resources to a terminal device; and receiving, from the terminal device, the beam switching request over the dedicated resources, the beam switching request indicating a target beam to which the terminal device is to be switched.
Abstract: We disclose an electrically controllable RF-circuit element that includes an electrochromic material. In an example embodiment, the electrically controllable RF-circuit element is configured to operate as a phase shifter whose phase-shifting characteristics can be changed using a dc-bias voltage applied to a multilayered structure containing a layer of the electrochromic material.

Abstract: An optical transceiver capable of optimizing the performance of the corresponding optical channel by dynamically adjusting the optical power of the output signal in response to the FEC-performance data received from the corresponding remote transceiver. In an example embodiment, the FEC-performance data can be exchanged by the two optical transceivers using a dedicated field in the overhead of the transmitted data frames. The power-adjustment process is configured to be relatively slow to prevent the occurrence of transients on other optical channels and ensure stable operation of the corresponding WDM system as a whole, while different transceivers thereof are allowed to adjust their respective output powers in an autonomous way and independent of each other.

Abstract: A wireless transmission control capability may be used to control downlink (DL) transmissions for a set of wireless user devices or for an individual wireless user device. A DL transmission control capability for a set of wireless user devices may include receiving DL channel operating parameter information associated with a set of cells, determining DL channel operating parameter distribution information based on the DL channel operating parameter information, and determining default DL channel operating parameter information for the set of cells based on the DL channel operating parameter distribution information and a target associated with the set of cells. A DL transmission control capability for an individual wireless user device may include determining radio link layer (RLL) retransmission information associated with a wireless user device and determining, based on the RLL retransmission information associated with the wireless user device, whether to modify an attribute of the wireless user device.

Abstract: A wireless access system includes a baseband processing unit pool, an optical network unit and a remote radio head. The BBU pool may be connected to one or more ONUs, each of the ONUs may be connected to one or more RRHs, and the connection between each of the ONUs and the one or more RRHs may be implemented using a twisted pair. Embodiments can provide access, convergence and transport with a very large capacity from indoor antenna units to a centralized BBU as well as an easy installation, and thus they are cost economical for a large scale deployment of indoor wireless access. Furthermore, advanced wireless technologies, such as large scale MIMO and CoMP, can be supported.

Abstract: System and method for seamless switching between operator networks is disclosed. The present invention relates to communication networks and, more particularly, to switching between operators in communication networks. A network element termed as the service aggregator is provided that resides in the operator's network and acts as an intermediate between the mobile user and the operator. In addition, a switching module is provided on the mobile device of the user that interacts with the service aggregator to perform switching. Base station continuously broadcasts signaling information to the mobile device. Based on such signaling information received, the mobile device decides if it wishes to switch to another operator's network. The service aggregator establishes connection with the service gateway of the new network. Further, service aggregator sends handover signal and the mobile device switches seamlessly to the new operator's network.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for channel estimation in a wireless communication system. The communication system includes a communication unit provided with a plurality of antennas, and one or more terminals. First, pilot signals are transmitted from each antenna towards the one or more terminals. At the terminals correlative coding is performed with respect to the transmitted pilot signals to form correlatively coded pilot signals. The correlatively coded pilot signals are then retransmitted from the one or more terminals to the plurality of antennas of the communication unit. The communication unit then estimates uplink channels between the one or more terminals and the plurality of antennas based on the correlatively coded pilot signals. Finally, estimates of the downlink channels between the plurality of antennas and the one or more terminals are obtained based on the estimated uplink channels.
Abstract: A method, system, and devices for online inserting messages in at least one social network content application of a plurality of social network content applications of at least one social network platform is described. The method includes collecting a plurality of social network messages originating from the plurality of social network content applications, determining a set of messages having a certain degree of similarity from the plurality of social network messages, by comparing each message with each further message of the plurality of message, extracting a topic from the plurality of social network messages included in the set of messages having at least the certain degree of similarity, and determining a second certain degree of similarity between the topic and an second message of a plurality of second messages based on the degree of similarity between respective suffix trees corresponding to each message of the messages.
