  • Patent number: 5096400
Abstract: A hydraulic pump which is furnished with a bushing-type closing element (11) for the purpose of damping pulsations of pressure and of the delivery flow. The closing element (11) turns the delivery flow several times and contains a damping chamber. An optimum adjustment of the damping device is possible by varying the external diameter of the end portion (12) of the closing element (11) and by varying the reach of screw of the closing element (11).

  • Patent number: 5095805
Abstract: A vacuum brake power booster, in particular for motor vehicles, which includes a poppet valve (12) sealing two valve seats (18, 19) and which is axially deformable within the area of a rolling fold (15) also includes an annular part which is either mounted on the outside of the rolling fold (15) in a form-fit manner or arranged inside the elastic material (24) of the poppet valve (12). This annular part prevents the rolling fold (15) from being blown up outwardly due to the pressure differential prevailing between its two sides so that it will be possible to reduce the return force and thus also the response force.

  • Patent number: 5096267
Abstract: A brake valve for a vacuum brake force booster, wherein the valve body (33) is movably located on the pedal piston (32). The valve body, through two springs (35, 39) is held in a central position in which the brake pedal and pedal piston may move the valve body between booster deactivated and deactivated positions. Two electromagnets (37, 40) are provided which draw the valve body (33) both in the actuating direction and against the actuating direction. In this manner, the valve (17) can be actuated independently of the pedal force, to either release or apply braking pressure as for automatic antislip or traction control.

  • Patent number: 5096268
Abstract: Hydraulic brake systems are known wherein, for the purpose of brake control, a counterforce is built up in the booster (60) for actuation of the master brake cylinder which results in unloading the master brake cylinder. What is disadvantageous in the known system is that this counterforce also resets the pedal (pedal piston 3) so that vehement pedal movements will result from the control action. Therefore, our present invention suggests to interpose a transmission device (3, 4, 5, 6, 7) between the pedal and the actuator (booster) enabling to decouple actuator and pedal.

  • Patent number: 5094599
Abstract: A radial piston pump for a brake system in automotive vehicles. The resulting system produces little noise and is split up into various circuits. The resulting system provides damping of the pressure vibrations caused by the pump pistons. The individual channels are furnished with permanently allocated damping chambers. These damping chambers are combined with the associated outlet valves to form a replaceable construction unit (damping-chamber valve) which is adapted to a given application.

  • Patent number: 5090293
Abstract: A hydraulic booster for slip-controlled brake systems, including a booster piston (1) arranged in a booster housing (11) and confining a booster chamber (4). A braking pressure control valve is provided whose control part (12) is actuatable by a lever mechanism (13) as a function of the piston of the control part (12). An actuating piston (2) is displaceably guided in the booster piston (1) and is positioned by way of a push rod which cooperates with the lever mechanism (13). To provide a hydraulic booster to realize boosting factors of any desired size, both of constructional and strength-minimizing nature, an annular surface (24) is formed the stepped actuating piston (2), on the side of the push rod (22) and is larger than the total area of any opposing annular surfaces, subject to the booster chamber pressure to create a net force acting to oppose the push rod force and allow setting of the boosting factor by adjustment of the area of the annular surface.

  • Patent number: 5090262
Abstract: The disclosed lever-type gear works on a variable transmission ratio, with the degree of transmission being respectively dependent on the position of the levers and the position of the roller element between the levers. According to a preferred arrangement, the gear can be so designed as to provide a state of indifferent equilibrium once a force F.sub.P is applied to the associated lever by a rod located on the driving side, which force F.sub.P changes along with the stroke s.sub.p of the rod while a constant force is applied to rod applying force to the other lever, irrespective of the stroke s.sub.M thereof.

  • Patent number: 5080136
Abstract: A valve arrangement has a housing in which are arranged an electromagnetically actuatable pilot valve controlling a differential pressure and a main valve actuatable by the differential pressure, the closure member of the main valve permitting a connection to be established between an outlet port and, alternatively, a first or a second inlet port. In order to keep the overall length of the valve arrangement as small as possible, the present invention provides a joint axis (29) of the pilot valve (5) and of the electromagnet (6) actuating the pilot valve (5) which is perpendicular to the axis (30) of the main valve (7) in a plane that is radially offset relative to the axis (30). In the inactive position, both compartments (23, 24) are exposed to the higher pneumatic pressure.

  • Patent number: 5067365
Abstract: An adjusting mechanism for a control member for influencing automotive vehicle engine torques. A spring-supported actuating member is articulated via pulleys at a mechanical linkage. The mechanical linkage transmits the movement of the actuating member onto a control member. The control member is influenced irrespective of the activation of the actuating member by another control variable effective, in particular, by the slip effect of driven vehicle wheels. A functionally optimized mechanical linkage is provided which has no reactive effect on the actuating member. This linkage comprises a first cable connecting link and a second cable connecting link, with the second mechanical connecting link cooperating with the control member via a pair of pulleys which are arranged on a lever and partially wrapped by the second cable connecting link.

  • Patent number: 5067779
Abstract: A pedal-actuated braking pressure generator for a brake system with anti-lock control comprising a vacuum-operated servo unit (1), which serves both for boosting the braking force and for generating an auxiliary energy opposed to the pedal force. The system further comprises a master brake cylinder (2) and a piston arrangement (3) connected upstream of the servo unit (1). The piston arrangement comprises a pedal-side piston (15), a reversing valve (18), a pressure transmission chamber (17) and a push-rod piston (19). By a multi-directional valve (5) it is possible to arrest the pedal-side piston (15) during anti-lock control. By means of the reversing valve (18), a pressure medium path is established from the pressure transmission chamber (17) to the pressure compensation reservoir (6), thereby the push-rod piston (19) is relieved in the direction of release of the brake.

  • Patent number: 5066073
Abstract: A brake system intended for automotive vehicles provided with a brake pressure transmitter (1) which is linked to the wheel brakes through pressure medium lines, and with sensors (19 to 22, 24) which are responsive to the brake pressure or to the behavior of rotation of the wheels and by means of which the braking effect at the wheels brakes is detectable. Furthermore, separating valves (SO.sub.1, SO.sub.2, SO.sub.3, SO.sub.4, SO.sub.HA ) for shutting off the flow of pressure medium in one switching position are incorporated in the pressure medium paths leading to the wheel brakes. A monitoring circuit (3', 25') to which the sensor signals are transmittable recognizes the failure of one wheel brake and thereupon automatically commutates the separating valve located in the pressure medium path leading to the wheel brake which has failed into a valve position locking the flow of pressure medium.

  • Patent number: 5066074
Abstract: For controlling the slip when braking a road vehicle and in particular for improving control in case of different friction values on the right and left vehicle sides the rotational behavior of the front wheels and, as a measure of the vehicular velocity and vehicular deceleration, the rotational behavior of the rear wheel running with a higher friction value are observed. The rotational behavior of the front wheels and the vehicular deceleration are evaluated in accordance with criteria manifesting the danger of yawing moments which are excessive with respect to the driving stability of the vehicle. Upon reaching a predetermined vehicular deceleration threshold value representative of high yawing moments, any further yawing moment increase is restricted by limiting the braking pressure or the braking pressure increase at the front wheel having a better road surface contact.
