  • Patent number: 5131144
Abstract: A process for the manufacture of a master cylinder for hydraulic brake units of automotive vehicles. The starting material is a pasty material which is between solid and liquid. In the course of the casting procedure, thin material wall thicknesses are created in the regions of intended openings of the master cylinder, such as the breather bore (14) and the intake bore (5). The floating membrane (12) which forms during the casting process is removed by mechanical machining to open the duct which functions as the intake bore. The breather bore (14) which functions as the compensation bore is formed by a stamping operation.

  • Patent number: 5129714
Abstract: An anti-lock hydraulic brake system is provided which includes a master brake cylinder (2) and a pump (16) and an inlet valve (12) and an outlet valve (14). The inlet valve (12) is a minimum element whose control compartments (12, 22) are interconnected through a throttle (19). Depending on the position of a piston (20), either the brake line (8) or the return line (13) is opened. The pump (16) feeds the brake lines during a brake slip control operation. When the outlet valve (14) is opened, a pressure gradient is caused at the throttle (19) which results in that the operating piston (20) is displaced. As a result, the brake line (8) is closed and the return line (13) is opened, thereby permitting pressure fluid to discharge from the wheel brake (10) into the supply reservoir (15).

  • Patent number: 5115186
Abstract: A travel sensor for measuring mechanical quantities of motion, in particular for determining the brake pedal position, comprising a transmission unit axially slidable in a housing and comprising a measuring apparatus for generating an electric signal representative of the travel of the transmission unit. The transmission unit is formed of two mechanical transmissions elements (12, 13 and 3, 6, respectively) corresponding with each other and effecting a reduction of the introduced quantity of motions that the test signal is tapped by a reduced test travel. • Patent number: 5111659
Abstract: In order to avoid energy losses, particularly in the case of actuating operations characterized by energetic cycles, it is suggested to insert a double-lever cam-and-roller transmission mechanism between a hydraulic accumulator and a hydraulic pressure consumer which mechanism has the effect that the accumulator pressure and the consumer pressure are always balanced. The consumer is therefore actuatable by means of slight control forces, the energy used thus remaining at a minimum. Thus, only the slight actuating energy of the control forces and the unavoidable hysteresis loss of the system need to be compensated for.

  • Patent number: 5105131
Abstract: A power drive system for a sliding door, such as those employed on van type vehicles, enables a positive drive powered operation of the door by a control switch remote from the door and a programmed electronic control unit while accommodating manual operation of the door without mechanical interference or resistance from the drive or altering of the drive control program. A push/pull cable connected to the door is in positive meshed engagement at all times with a rotary drive gear whose rotative displacement from a rest position is continuously transmitted to the electronic control unit as a door position input signal. During powered operation of the door, the control unit is programmed to actuate or control a reversible drive motor or associated devices when the door is at selected positions along its path of movement.
