  • Patent number: 6090878
Abstract: Ultra-fine-grained thermoplastics such as polyolefins, for example, having an average particle size D.sub.50 of less than 400 .mu.m and are present in a mixture along with a filler where the amount of filler material in the mixture amounts to 40 to 90% with respect to the mixture. As such ultra-fine-grained thermoplastics cannot be obtained by means of the normal milling process of if so then only with considerable expenditure, the process for manufacturing ultra-fine-grained thermoplastics is performed in such a manner that a mixture containing 10 to 60 wt. % thermoplastics with respect to the mixture and 40 to 90 wt. % filler material with respect to the mixture is ground e.g. in an impact pulverizer, as a result of which thermoplastic particles with an average particle size D.sub.50 less than 400 .mu.m are produced.

  • Patent number: 6065261
Abstract: In a construction featuring sections of light metal and light-weight composite panels joined to the sections the composite panels feature a plastic core with light weight metal outer sheets bonded to both sides. The outer sheets partially overlap a light metal connecting section which is integrally incorporated in the composite panel and interlock by virtue of fit with that section. The connecting section features connecting strips that lie as pairs on corresponding connecting strips on the section. At least one of the connecting strips is riveted to this neighboring strip. The connecting strip of the connecting section is inclined at an angle with respect to a contact plane in order to create pressure on the neighboring connecting strip, and is joined at its free edge by laser welding to the neighboring connecting strip.

  • Patent number: 6055794
Abstract: Process for manufacturing blister packs, for example to accommodate items such as pharmaceutical items in the form of capsules, coated capsules, ampoules etc., from a base part and a lid part made from strip shaped packaging material. The base part exhibits permanently shaped recesses which are surrounded by shoulders and the lid part exhibits permanently shaped recesses which are surrounded by shoulders; the base and lid parts lie on a plane of symmetry and the base and lid parts are joined at their shoulders over the whole or part of the surface area in the region of the plane of symmetry; the recesses in the base and lid parts which are symmetrically arranged with respect to the plane of symmetry form compartments and the contents are contained in the compartments. The blister packs may be manufactured, for example, by folding or turning over an endless strip of packaging material along a line of symmetry.

The film material (22) is of thickness (d) extending form the outside (14) of the pipe-shaped body (21) to the inside of the same. At least one barrier layer (10) is arranged within a distance (a) of the inside (15) of the pipe-shaped body (21). The distance (a) represents 5 to 40% of the total thickness (d) representing 100 percent. The film material used on a tube exhibits therefore a barrier layer which lies close to the inside of the tube and hence also close to the contents of the tube. Volatile constituents of the tube contents beings able to penetrate essentially only to the barrier layer and are not able to become concentrated in the other, thick layers of the wall.
