  • Publication number: 20120102012
Abstract: The invention provides a cross-region access method for an embedded file system (EFS) including: step a. defining a critical resource region in a BANK which is shared by program codes and an EFS; step b. judging the type of an operation instruction, if it is a reading or writing operation instruction, utilizing the critical resource region to execute a time-division asynchronous operation to an FLASH, if it is a data erasing operation instruction, putting the instruction into a real-time operation system for management without affecting normal operations of other application programs. The invention introduces a new distribution mechanism for EFS space and performs time-division asynchronous operation by defining the critical resource region and a task machine; it avoids considering the limit of the bank boundary of the storage to the EFS space partition, utilizes the idle space of the storage sufficiently and reduces the cost.

  • Publication number: 20120101797
Abstract: A computerized model provides a display of a physical environment in which a communications network is or will be installed. The communications network is comprised of several components, each of which are selected by the design engineer and which are represented in the display. Errors in the selection of certain selected components for the communications network are identified by their attributes or frequency characteristics as well as by their interconnection compatibility for a particular design. The effects of changes in frequency on component performance are modeled and the results are displayed to the design engineer. A bill of materials is automatically checked for faults and generated for the design system and provided to the design engineer. For ease of design, the design engineer can cluster several different preferred components into component kits, and then select these component kits for use in the design or deployment process.

Abstract: In 3GPP LTE, user equipment must be able to report reference signal received power (RSRP) measurement to the serving cell's base station. A low-complexity method for asynchronous RSRP measurement in an LTE user equipment receiver is provided which comprises frequency shifting the received signal so that the upper or lower half band becomes centered around the DC frequency; decimating the received signal to a width of n·2m samples, n being the reference symbol spacing in the received signal; dividing the samples into n sample vectors with a length of 2m each, superimposing said n sample vectors; and performing FFT operation on the superimposed signal.

  • Publication number: 20120102181
Abstract: Provided are computer-implemented methods and systems for performing media resource storage and management. The computer-implemented method and system implemented as a request manager is capable of monitoring requests for media resources in a content delivery network. For each monitored request, the request manager determines whether to generate a multifile for the requested media resource. For example, the request manager can first determine whether the media resource is eligible for multifile generation. If eligible, the request manager then determines whether the media resource has reached a popularity threshold. If the media resource has reached the popularity threshold, the request manager initiates generation of the multifile for the requested media resource. Generally, the generated multifile is stored in a storage system associated with the content delivery network.

  • Publication number: 20120099795
Abstract: Detecting the start of a credit roll within video program may allow for the automatic extension of video recordings among other functions. The start of the credit roll may be detected by determining the number of text blocks within a sequence of frames and identifying a point in the sequence of frames where a difference between the number of text blocks in frames occurring before the point and the number of text blocks in frames occurring after the point is greatest and exceeds a specified threshold. Text blocks may be identified within each frame by partitioning the frame into one or more segments and recording the segments having a pixel of a sufficiently high contrast. Contiguous segments may be merged or combined into single blocks, which may then be filtered to remove noise and false positives. Additional content may be inserted into the credit roll frames.

Abstract: In an apparatus and method of testing the capacity of a network to support DSL services, a test device is coupled to a pair of wires (e.g., Tip-Ring) that support DSL services between ATU-C and ATU-R modems. In operation, the test device: samples for a DC line feed or potential on the wires when the ATU-R and ATU-C modems are operatively connected via the wires; samples for AC noise present on the wires when the ATU-R modem is electrically isolated from the ATU-C modem which is operatively coupled to the wires; samples for DSL signals output by the ATU-R modem when the ATU-C modem is electrically isolated from the ATU-R modem; and samples for DSL signals on the wires when the ATU-R modem is operatively coupled to the ATU-C modem via the wires. Based on these samples, the test device determines the capacity of the network to support DSL services.

  • Publication number: 20120100835
Abstract: A method for reading Short Message Service (SMS) messages using a mobile device, a user can read the SMS messages saved in a mailbox of the mobile device by acquiring a contact entry. The user selects the contact entry in a contact list saved in a memory of the mobile device. Then, the mobile device reads a phone number of the contact entry. Continually, the mobile device acquires the SMS messages from the memory, and reads identifier numbers and the phone numbers of the SMS messages. After comparing procedure, if a phone number of one of SMS messages is the same as the phone number of the contact entry, the mobile device saves an identifier number corresponding to the one of SMS messages to the memory. The mobile device loads the SMS messages corresponding to the identifier numbers saved in the memory into the mailbox.
