Abstract: A firearm support device can include an elongate member, a lock knob, and vise pins. The elongate member can include a clamping portion, a supporting portion, and a stop portion located therebetween. The clamping portion can be clamped between jaws of a bench vise, can include two parallel clamping faces, and can define vise pin holes. The vise pins can be received by the vise pin holes. The supporting portion can support an upper receiver of a firearm and can include a cylindrical shaft aligned with the long axis of the elongate member. The supporting portion can include splines structured to mate with lugs of a barrel extension of a firearm barrel. The supporting portion can define a plurality of lock knob holes aligned radially and located around the cylindrical shaft. The lock knob can be received by one of these holes and constrain the upper receiver.

Abstract: A system for communicating within a vehicle includes a cabin manager unit (CMU) in the vehicle. The CMU is configured to perform operations including ranking a plurality of frequency ranges used by a panel in the vehicle based at least partially upon one or more metrics of the frequency ranges. The operations also include receiving a first command signal from the panel in a first of the frequency ranges. The first frequency range is selected based at least partially upon the ranking.

Abstract: Systems and methods for downloading and updating save data to a data center are described. Save data is downloaded from a cloud storage to the data center before play of a game to cache the save data in the data center. Any updates to the save data that occur during a play of a game are stored in the data center and are uploaded to the cloud storage. Next time, a user desires to access the game, there is no need to transfer the updates to the data center from the cloud storage.

Abstract: An implantable medical device, such as an intervertebral spacer, may comprise a polymeric component and a metallic component. The metallic component can contain both porous metal and substantially-solid metal. The polymeric material can contain particles of an osseointegrative material. The metallic component can be more protruding toward bone than the polymeric component while having a smaller dimension of roughness than the polymeric component. In embodiments, the pin may press-fit against substantially solid metal. The porous metal may surround solid metal which in turn may surround the pin. The pin may have a press-fit with metal and a looser fit with polymeric component, if the metal components and polymeric components are trapped. A pin may connect superior and inferior metal components by a press-fit. The central opening may be exposed to porous metal and also to substantially-solid metal and to polymer. Specific geometries of implants are disclosed.

Abstract: A waste disposal container of smaller shipping profile is disclosed with an inner rotating support structure and an outer casing, where the inner rotating support structure and/or the outer casing may be shipped in separable parts and reassembled by the end consumer. The inner rotating support structure also may offer at least one bag attachment points to hold on to the body of the bag where the bag attachment points are designed to be lower to accommodate collection of cat litter.

Abstract: A glass has a basic soda-lime-silica glass portion, and a colorant portion including total iron as Fe2O3 in the range of greater than zero to 0.10 weight percent, e.g. selected from the group of total iron as Fe2O3 in the range of greater than zero to 0.02 weight percent and total iron as Fe2O3 in the range of greater than 0.02 weight percent to less than 0.10 weight percent; redox ratio in the range of 0.2 to 0.6, and tin and/or tin compounds, e.g. SnO2 greater than 0.000 to 5.0 weight percent. In one embodiment of the invention, the glass has a tin side and an opposite air side, wherein the tin side of the glass is supported on a molten tin bath during forming of the glass. The tin concentration at the tin side of the glass is greater than, less than, or equal to the tin concentration in “body portion” of the glass. The “body portion” of the glass extending from the air side of the glass toward the tin side and terminating short of the tin side of the glass.

Abstract: A personalized persistent collection of customized inking tools is provided. In an ink-enabled application, a user is enabled to create new inking tools and to select properties to associate with the new inking tools according to the user's wants/needs. Inking tool elements illustrative of the properties associated with the user-customized inking tools are included in an inking tool tray displayed in a UI of the application. The user-selected properties associated with the user-customized inking tools are stored in a data store that is accessible by the application and other applications from various computing devices. The inking tool tray is consistent across applications and computing devices for allowing the user to create, keep, and roam a customized set of inking tools, and providing the user with one-click access to the user's customized inking tools. Advantageously, the user does not have to repeatedly set up an inking tool with often-used attributes.

Abstract: Computing devices for automatic placement and arrangement of objects in computer-based 3D environments are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a computing device is configured to provide, on a display, a user interface containing a work area having a template of a 3D environment and a gallery containing models of two-dimensional (2D) or 3D content items. The computing device can then detect, via the user interface, a user input selecting one of the models from the gallery to be inserted as an object into the template of the 3D environment. In response to detecting the user input, the computing device can render and surface on the display, a graphical representation of the 2D or 3D content item corresponding to the selected model at a location along a circular arc spaced apart from the default viewer position of a viewer of the 3D environment by a preset radial distance.

Abstract: Sensors coupled to a vehicle are calibrated using a dynamic scene with sensor targets around a motorized turntable that rotates the vehicle to different orientations. The sensors capture data at each orientation along the rotation. The vehicle's computer identifies representations of the sensor targets within the data captured by the sensors, and calibrates the sensor based on these representations. The motorized turntable may confirm that rotation has stopped to the vehicle to trigger sensor capture, and the vehicle may communicate completion of sensor capture at an orientation to the motorized turntable to trigger further rotation.

Abstract: A system for use by a diver during an underwater dive. An autonomous underwater vehicle (one component of the system, AUV) comprises a component for detecting that the AUV has entered water, an AUV acoustic transceiver, a plurality of AUV sensors, a propulsion unit, a processor for determining dive information and diver information responsive to data from one or both of the AUV acoustic transceiver and the plurality of AUV sensors, and one or more cameras. Diver equipment carried by the diver comprises a plurality of diver sensors and a diver acoustic transceiver for receiving sensed information from the plurality of diver sensors and communicating the sensed information to the AUV, and for receiving information from the AUV acoustic transceiver.

Abstract: A system for reuse of content within documents can include storage media on which a document graph is stored, and indexing software that, when executed by a processing system, directs the processing system to at least: identify content component types within a source document; and represent content components in a document graph at least connected by ‘contains’ edge to source document. A search of the document graph for reusable content can then be directed to related content components including those of a particular content component type or relevancy.

Abstract: A better rate distortion ratio is achieved by making interrelationships between coding parameters of different planes available for exploitation for the aim of redundancy reduction despite the additional overhead resulting from the need to signal the inter-plane prediction information to the decoder. In particular, the decision to use inter plane prediction or not may be performed for a plurality of planes individually. Additionally or alternatively, the decision may be done on a block basis considering one secondary plane.

Abstract: Biomaterials, such as hydrogels, can be mechanically secured to electrodes of an implantable device, such as electrodes made of noble metals. The hydrogel can be mechanically secured via anchoring features of the electrode. Anchoring features can include apertures, voids, textures, or other patterns created in or on the electrode. The hydrogel can incorporate into the anchoring features to mechanically hold the hydrogel against the electrode. The anchoring features, by being located in or on the electrode, can further increase the surface area of the electrode that is exposed to the hydrogel, which can facilitate the conduction of electrical signals between the electrode and surrounding biological tissue. The substrate supporting the electrode can include additional anchoring features that further assist in mechanically securing the hydrogel.

Abstract: Systems and methods for assigning word fragments to lines of text in optical character recognition (OCR) extracted data can include at least one processor obtaining a plurality of word fragments from OCR generated data associated with an image. The at least one processor can determine vertical coordinates of each of the word fragments in the image. The at least one processor can cluster the plurality of word fragments into one or more clusters of word fragments based on the vertical coordinates of the plurality of word fragments. The at least one processor can assign each word fragment of a respective cluster to a corresponding text line based on the clustering.

Abstract: Implementing compliance management includes displaying a checklist of inspection items on a display of a mobile communications device at an inspection site of an entity. Each of the inspection items is mapped to a corresponding compliance code governing environmental regulatory requirements for operation and maintenance of the entity. The compliance management also includes receiving a user response indicative of an inspection condition for each of the inspection items. The user response is implemented via an input control on the mobile communications device. The compliance management further includes transmitting user responses over a network to a centralized database system. The centralized database system provides web-based access of the user responses to the entity over the network.

Abstract: A mobile wireless network and a method of operation provide analysis of mobile wireless device communications and suggested corrective initiated upon detecting communications performance issues. In some embodiments, the operations include blocking access to location information pertaining to a mobile wireless device based on the state of access flag that is maintained in the network for the mobile wireless device.
