Abstract: A carrier system for a vehicle having a pair of vacuum devices shaped and sized to mate and secure to a recreational article. Each vacuum device includes a pad shaped and sized to detachably seat with a vehicle to form a vacuum cavity. The vacuum device includes a plunger attached to the pad and in fluid communication with the vacuum cavity, and an indicator positioned on the plunger to indicate the level of vacuum pressure within the vacuum cavity.

Abstract: Compensation is provided for foreign interference within a cell. Uplink (UL) noise on an UL channel to a first base station (BS) device is detected. Whether the UL noise includes interference is determined. Interference can include any device other than a mobile device configured to communicate with a BS device associated with a cell. The first service area of the BS device can be modified, e.g., scaled based on determining that the UL noise includes interference. Scaling can include reducing the first service area to a second service area that does not include an imbalance region in the first service area caused by the foreign interference. Scaling can be effected by reducing the amount of downlink power from the first BS device, or by adjusting a re-selection parameter associated with reducing the range of the BS device.

Abstract: This disclosure describes methods for improving the performance and consistency of steels by closely controlling the initial homogenization of steel compositions prior to hot working. Experimental data is provided illustrating that the traditional austenitization techniques do not take into account diffusion of the various components within a steel composition and, as such, may not completely homogenize the steel composition. In the methods described in this disclosure, the initial step of austenitizing the steel ingot is altered to achieve a more homogenous distribution of the different components throughout the ingot. The improved method includes heating the steel composition to a temperature within the upper half of the pure austenitic phase temperature range and maintaining the steel composition at that temperature for a period of time determined based on the diffusivity in the austenitic phase of the steel composition of at least one constituent of the steel.

Abstract: A computing device initiates a linked capture session to enable automatic image sharing by multiple users and devices. The linked capture session is a group of devices that automatically share captured images during the linked capture session. The linked capture session may be initiated based on a location, a group of people, and/or a time duration. The images captured by devices that are connected in the linked capture session are automatically communicated to a remote storage system that allows all users to access the images through devices connected to the linked capture session.

Abstract: A processor-implemented method in a vehicle for performing automatic vehicle lateral control using a neural network for trajectory tracking is provided. The method includes receiving a desired vehicle trajectory; constructing, from the desired trajectory, desired waypoint data for a small number of desired waypoints at different look ahead distances in front of the center of gravity of the vehicle; and generating a steering angle command using a feedforward artificial neural network (ANN) as a function of vehicle speed and the desired waypoint data without modeling vehicle or tire dynamics. The vehicle steering actuator system provides steering control to cause vehicle steering to attempt to achieve the steering angle command.

Abstract: An autonomous picture production system for automatically capturing an image of a location within a spectator seating area of a stadium upon request of a spectator includes one or more motorized cameras, an external interaction device for receiving an external request from the spectator, a camera control device for determining an optimal camera from the one or more motorized cameras for capturing the image, the camera control device controlling the optimal camera to capture the image, and a database for storing the image, wherein the external interaction device informs the spectator how to retrieve the image from the database.

Abstract: Image sensors may include an array of pixels each having nested sub-pixels. Nested sub-pixels may include an inner photosensitive region and an outer photosensitive region. Inner photosensitive regions of pixels in an array may be provided with a respective local vertical transfer gate structure formed in a trench that laterally surrounds the inner photosensitive region. A trench structure may be formed in a grid-like pattern having gaps in which the nested sub-pixels are formed. The trench structure may be coupled to outer photosensitive regions of each of the pixels in the array. The trench structure may be a global vertical transfer gate structure. The vertical transfer gate structures provided to the pixels may allow for accumulated charges to be transferred to respective charge storage nodes associated with the photosensitive regions in any given pixel. Image sensors formed in this way may be used in rolling shutter or global shutter configurations.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to a trailer having a frame suitable for transporting an item, such as an oil drilling pipe. The trailer includes a plurality of stabilizers for supporting the frame over a surface, at least one axle attached to a plurality of wheels. The trailer further includes an axle pin group includes first and second axle pins interconnected to respective hydraulic cylinders. The trailer further includes leaf springs connected to respective sides of the frame and mounted to the axle. Retraction of the axle pins away from the leaf springs enables movement of the frame with respect to the axle due to the weight of the frame, if the stabilizers are retracted. In this configuration, the frame can be raised and lowered with respect to the surface. Methods of use are also disclosed.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for video encoding/decoding. In some examples, an apparatus for video decoding includes processing circuitry. For example, the processing circuitry decodes prediction information of a current block from a coded video btstream. The prediction information indicates that a prediction of the current block is at least partially based on an inter prediction. Then, the processing circuitry reconstructs at least a sample of the current block as a combination of a result from the inter prediction and neighboring samples of the block that are selected based on a position of the sample.

Abstract: Aspects of the technology evaluate places that are familiar to a given user in order to provide contextualized location information about other places of interest. This may include evaluating the actual number of visits by the given user to one or more locations in a given geographical area. For instance, places that have been visited a sufficient number of times within a particular timeframe are identified as personal landmarks for that user. Thus, when the user searches for a specific place or otherwise requests results that fit a query, the system can use the personalized landmark information to help rank search results and to provide location cues to aid the user to quickly and efficiently arrive at the location of the search result. Personal landmarks are necessarily familiar to the user, and thus can reduce the number of turn-by-turn directions or simplify the graphical interface of the client device.

Abstract: Computer-implemented methods and systems are provided for determining an actual maximum density capacity and/or development potential in view of the zoning code applicable to a particular location. Such methods and systems seek to overcome frustrations and alleviate other impediments that affect efficient use of zoning codes. In a first aspect, a computer-implemented system for determining development potential includes at least one input interface for receiving property information; a computer program for calculating a building envelope allowable under the zoning code and for calculating an actual maximum density capacity available for a geographic area of interest using the zoning code and additional factors affecting the area of interest. The results of at least the actual maximum density capacity calculation is provided to an output interface for displaying assessment of zoning code compliance and generating a virtual build of a building permitted under the zoning code for the site.

A drive sense circuit drives an analog transmit signal onto a bus, wherein the analog outbound data is represented within the analog transmit signal as variances in loading of the bus at a first frequency and wherein analog inbound data is represented within an analog receive signal as variances in loading of the bus at a second frequency.

Abstract: A wireless battery-powered daylight sensor for measuring a total light intensity in a space is operable to transmit wireless signals using a variable transmission rate that is dependent upon the total light intensity in the space. The sensor comprises a photosensitive circuit, a wireless transmitter for transmitting the wireless signals, a controller coupled to the photosensitive circuit and the wireless transmitter, and a battery for powering the photosensitive circuit, the wireless transmitter, and the controller. The photosensitive circuit is operable to generate a light intensity control signal in response to the total light intensity in the space. The controller transmits the wireless signals in response to the light intensity control signal using the variable transmission rate that is dependent upon the total light intensity in the space. The variable transmission rate may be dependent upon an amount of change of the total light intensity in the space.
