Abstract: The method comprises determining that the clear day exists in response to the apparent diameter of the solar disc being similar to the expected diameter of the solar disc on the clear day and determining that an overcast condition exists in the camera image in response to the apparent diameter of the solar disc being distorted. The method may further include receiving a camera image of a sky section from a camera at a first location; segmenting the camera image into a first portion around a known position of a solar disc and a second portion of the remainder of the sky section containing an horizon; determining that the solar disc is obstructed by the horizon; and establishing that the first location is experiencing shadow conditions based on the determining.

Abstract: An exemplary communication method and system is disclosed. The system may be configured to create a mesh network of nodes for routing and/or rerouting data communications depending on the integrity of or demands on the system to improve efficiency and transmission confidence. The system may be configured to redundantly, simultaneously send data transmissions on different transmission interfaces using different transmission protocols.

Abstract: In the present invention, HPPD polypeptides and plants containing them showing a full tolerance against one or more HPPD inhibitor herbicides belonging to various chemical classes are described. A set of mutant HPPD polypeptides have been designed which have either no or only a significantly reduced affinity to HPPD inhibitor herbicides and, at the same time, the rate of dissociation of the HPPD inhibitors of the mutant HPPD polypeptide is increased to such an extent that the HPPD inhibitors no longer act as slow-binding or slow, tight-binding inhibitors but, instead of this, have become fully reversible inhibitors. In particular, isolated polynucleotides encoding mutant HPPD polypeptides conferring tolerance to HPPD inhibitor herbicides belonging to various chemical classes are provided. Additionally, amino acid sequences corresponding to the polynucleotides are encompassed.

Abstract: Methods for manufacturing anatomical healing caps, including forming an anatomical healing cuff body for a given tooth position, the anatomical healing cuff body having a cross-section and an exterior surface so that the anatomical healing cuff body provides substantially custom filling of at least an emergence portion of a void where a natural tooth once emerged from the void or where a tooth would have emerged from a void of the given tooth position, and forming both lateral buccal and lingual handle extensions extending from the anatomical healing cuff body so that the manufactured anatomical healing cap includes a laterally extending buccal handle extension and an oppositely disposed laterally extending lingual handle extension, the buccal and lingual handle extensions being integrally formed with the healing cuff body. The healing caps can be formed using a casting jig, by machining, by 3D printing, or other suitable methods.

Abstract: A direct drive resistance system for exercise machines having a weighted moment arm that is lifted and lowered by a lifting moment arm, which is moved by a force transfer assembly, which is operatively connected to a rotary component of an exercise machine, such that when the exercise machine is activated the force transfer assembly, the lifting moment arm, and the weighted moment arm move concurrently to create a resistance force to the motion of the exercise machine.

Abstract: An apparatus comprises a first substrate and two coils supported by the first substrate and arranged next to each other, the coils configured to each generate a magnetic field which produces eddy currents in and a reflected magnetic field from a conductive target, the two coils arranged so their respectively generated magnetic fields substantially cancel each other in an area between the coils. One or more magnetic field sensing elements are positioned in the area between the coils and configured to detect the reflected magnetic field.

Abstract: A method is provided for storing log data in a logging system, comprising: instantiating a plurality of buffers in the logging system, the plurality of buffers including one or more type-1 buffers and one or more type-2 buffers; retrieving a log data item from a temporary storage of the logging system, and identifying a type of the log data item; when the log data item is from a first type: identifying a current type-1 buffer, detecting whether the current type-1 buffer is full, when the current type-1 buffer is not full, storing the log data item in the current type-1 buffer, when the current type-1 buffer is full, designating another buffer as the current type-1 buffer, and storing the log data item in the newly-designated current type-1 buffer.

The plug also includes a cap disposed over the first end of the tubular conduit and coupled thereto. The cap is configured to mate with a wireline adapter kit of a perforating string. The plug additionally includes a guide shoe disposed over the second end of the tubular conduit and coupled thereto. The guide shoe is configured to move along the tubular conduit from an unset position, away from cap, to a set position, toward the cap. A gripping assembly is disposed around the tubular conduit between the cap and the guide shoe and coupled to the guide shoe. A sealing assembly is disposed between the cap and the gripping assembly. The sealing assembly includes a first sealing band and a second sealing band. The first sealing band is disposed around the tubular conduit and has an annular lip.

Abstract: A system for normalizing tank pressures includes a controller, a holding tank, a first reservoir, a first valve fluidly coupled to the first reservoir and communicatively coupled to the master controller, a distribution line fluidly coupling the holding tank to the first valve, a first sensor communicatively coupled to the controller, where the first sensor is configured to output signals corresponding to a fluid level within the first reservoir, and an instruction set that causes the processor to: receive signals from the first sensor, determine whether the fluid level within the first fluid reservoir is below a first threshold, generate a first signal to open the first valve when the fluid level is below the first threshold such that fluid from the holding tank fills the first reservoir, and generate a second signal to close the first valve when the fluid level is not below the first threshold.

Abstract: A snap slide clip provides a secondary securing mechanism for a drive carrier. The drive carrier includes a fastening mechanism to secure the drive carrier to a rack with the mounted drive connected to a storage system. A handle arm actuates a first latch feature to secure the drive carrier to the rack in a closed position and disengages the first latch feature in an open position such that the drive carrier can be moved with respect to the rack. A primary securing mechanism includes a second latch feature that secures the handle arm in a closed position. The snap slide clip is affixed to the primary securing mechanism to prevent the handle arm from moving into the open position in the event of failure of the primary securing mechanism. The snap slide clip can be retrofitted to a drive carrier of an active storage system without disrupting access to storage.

An autofill service of an operating system (OS) executing on the processor circuit, may then autofill the account number to the payment field of the form.
