Abstract: A method for authenticating a user prior to allowing a transaction or access to a website, in which the user's computer is identified via a recognized computer signature that is associated with a geographical location. The location of the user's cell phone is compared to the associated location, and the transaction or access is permitted if the difference in locations is within a predetermined acceptable distance.

Abstract: An automated number squares game method and system may enable the implementation of open and/or closed number squares games, in which users are enabled to purchase squares in a matrix representing possible event outcomes. Number squares may be generated automatically, without human intervention, as previous number squares are filled completely or to a predetermined amount. These and other capabilities may be implemented by providing graphical user interfaces (GUIs) to users and game administrators. In one aspect, a party may be provided with an administrative capability to run a private number squares game.

Abstract: A system and method for utilizing corner-cube reflector technology for irradiation control in direct radiant heating systems is described. The system and method has application in many types of direct irradiation heating systems and is applicable to both narrowband or broadband directed irradiation heating systems. The purpose and result of the implementation is to improve the overall system efficiency through the redirection of photons back to a targeted item which is being heated or treated with the irradiation energy.

Abstract: Example apparatus disclosed herein include a watermark detector to detect watermarks in a media signal. Disclosed example apparatus also include a controller to operate the watermark detector to (1) detect a first watermark in the media signal, and (2) cycle between sleep intervals and active intervals based on a repetition rate of the watermarks in the media signal to perform a detection operation for a second watermark at a second location in the media signal relative to a first location of the first watermark in the media signal. In some examples, the controller is to search a buffer of prior detected watermark symbols to detect a third watermark at a third location prior to the second location in the media signal in response to the second watermark not being detected at the second location in the media signal.

Abstract: Techniques for generating product images in a user's space. The techniques include: receiving, by a mobile device having a camera, information indicating a position in the user's space at which to place a proxy product model serving as a proxy for a product of a first type; generating, using augmented reality (AR), a visualization of the proxy product model, at the indicated position, in the user's space; receiving information indicating dimensions for the proxy product model; guiding, using AR, the user to capture one or more images of the user's space, with the mobile device, at one or more respective camera positions and/or orientations relative to the indicated position, in the user's space; obtaining, based on the information indicating the dimensions for the proxy product model and the one or more images of the user's space, at least one image of at least one product of the first type in the user's space; and displaying the at least one image of the at least one product.

Abstract: A lighting control device is provided which includes a microcontroller, at least one wireless transceiver, at least one dimmer, one or more lighting terminals powered by the at least one dimmer, at least one environmental sensor, and at least one input device. In operation, the microcontroller obtains environmental data from the at least one environmental sensor, obtains input data from the at least one input device, transmits the environmental data and the input data to an external server, obtains a lighting operating schedule based on the environmental data and the input data from the external server, and executes the lighting operating schedule from the external server by controlling one or more smart bulbs via the at least one wireless transceiver and controlling the electrical current output to lighting terminals.

The pumping efficiency of either device may be improved with the use of one or more valves, counter pulsation balloons, non-compliant tubular structures, secondary pumping balloons, and similar components.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for a magnetoresistive (MR) sensor a free layer with a thickness of the CoFeB material to produce out-of-plane sensing for the sensor and a reference layer magnetically coupled to the free layer. A dusting layer of an oxide material is disposed on the free layer to achieve perpendicular magnetic anisotropy for an interface of the oxide layer and the free layer for a desired sensitivity for the sensor.

The systems and methods may use a modified Electro-Optical Transfer Function (EOTF) curve to convert nonlinear color values of SDR content into optical output values of modified SDR content. The systems and methods may encode the modified SDR content using eight bits while preventing banding. The systems and methods may transmit the encoded data to a client device for presentation on a display.

Abstract: A lighting system for a vehicle is described, which includes a first hybridized device, a second hybridized device and a controller. The first hybridized device includes a first array of light emitting devices that illuminate a roadway on which the vehicle is located when operating. The second hybridized device includes a second array of light emitting devices that illuminate the roadway on which the vehicle is located when operating. The controller is electrically coupled to the first and second hybridized devices. When operating, the controller causes the first hybridized device to selectively project a first patterned light on to an object on the roadway, causes the first hybridized device to selectively project a second patterned light on to the object on the roadway, and causes a first camera to capture an image of the first patterned light projected on the object and the second patterned light projected on the object.

And the inner wall may include a cavity for receiving a container. The container holder can define a first portion and a second portion. The first portion may follow a curved profile and the second portion may follow a flat profile such that a cross-section of the container holder follows a D-shape. The second portion may have a series of openings extending through the outer shell to vent the cavity to an outside. A series of loops may cover the series of openings on the second portion and a pair of clips can be mounted to the series of loops. A bottom vent can extend through the base, the intermediate layer, and the inner liner.

Abstract: A two-piece multi-functional tray table cover is configured with a flexible sleeve and water-resistant prop-up tray to simultaneously provide a hygienic barrier to the tray table's surface, and a dedicated play, work, or otherwise use area for a user to place their toys, drinks, food, etc. The sleeve is comprised of a spandex material to enable a user to stretch the fabric around various-sized tray tables to accommodate different manufacturers, airlines, etc. The sleeve has a hook and loop fastener, such as Velcro®, on the top side, which attaches to a corresponding hook and loop fastener on the prop-up tray. In addition, the bottom side of the sleeve, opposite the top side with the hook and look fastener, has at least a pocket with a transparent window that enables a user to view a computing device's screen or other contents.
