Abstract: Processing circuitry receives a video bitstream comprising a current coding block in a picture coded in a template-based multiple reference line intra prediction (TMRL) mode. The processing circuitry determines combinations of reference lines and intra prediction modes for the current coding block. A first combination in the combinations includes a first reference line and a first intra prediction mode. For the first combination, the processing circuitry calculates template entry delta values respectively associated with entries of a template of the current coding block based on the first reference line and the first intra prediction mode, and calculates a first template matching cost value by unequal weighting of the template entry delta values.

Abstract: The technology described herein is related to a two-phase deployment-initiated wakeup mechanism for a body-mountable electronic device. During a first phase of the two-phase wakeup mechanism, a motion sensor detects an acceleration event indicative of deployment of the device onto the body of the user. During a second phase of the two-phase mechanism, control circuitry can be adapted to be enabled by the acceleration event. Once enabled, the control circuitry can verify that the device has been launched onto the body of a user via a deployment applicator in which the device is retained until deployment. Once verified, the control circuitry can wake up the body-mountable electronic device by transitioning the device from a sleep state to a functional (or operational) state.

Abstract: A system for eradicating pathogens is disclosed. A lamp is provided that emits a far-ultraviolet C (far-UVC) light generates an irradiation zone. A biometric sensor determines whether an individual is present in the irradiation zone. The biometric sensor signals a processor to determine whether the individual has been exposed to a threshold limit of far-UVC light. The processor determines whether the time an individual has been in the irradiation zone exceeds a threshold limit. If the individual has been in the irradiation zone a period of time exceeds the threshold, the lamp is deactivated. A pathogen detection sensor provides user feedback of the existence pathogens and signals the processor to terminate irradiation or provide user feedback to terminate irradiation. The system and method are included in a passenger compartment of a vehicle to eradicate pathogens on surfaces and aerosol. Threshold limits allow eradication while the vehicle is occupied.
