Abstract: A fuel unit assembly-lifting adapter is configured to couple with a vehicle lift in order to engage, raise, and lower a fuel unit assembly. The fuel unit assembly-lifting adapter includes an elongated fuel unit assembly-engaging portion terminating into a first end and a second end and a lift-engaging portion comprising a first member extending from the first end of the fuel unit assembly-engaging portion, and a second member extending from the second end of the fuel unit assembly-engaging portion, wherein the first member and the second member are configured to detachably engage a vehicle lift such that the fuel unit assembly-engaging portion may raise and lower the fuel unit assembly in response to movement of the vehicle lift.
Abstract: A gas collection grid for use at landfills having a gas-producing waste pile, including a lower geocomposite positioned over the gas-producing waste pile, a protective layer of soil is positioned over the lower geocomposite. An upper geocomposite is positioned over the protective layer of soil such that the protective layer of soil is positioned between the lower and upper geocomposites. An impermeable geomembrane is positioned over the upper geocomposite. A cruciform gas collector conduit grid is positioned within or atop the protective layer of soil and has a plurality of collection orifices formed adjacent the vertical openings formed in the protective layer of soil. The impermeable geomembrane is non-perforated adjacent the collection orifices and the cruciform gas collector conduit grid is adapted for delivering collected gas laterally from beneath the geomembrane rather than vertically through the geomembrane.
Abstract: An autonomous reconfigurable system has arms terminating at inductors. The inductors are connected to a photovoltaic submodule, an energy storage system submodule, and a submodule that source a direct current voltage and an alternating current voltage. A central processor controller determines arm modulation indices and issues reference power commands for the submodules and detects cyber-attacks and/or bad data threats. A field programmable gate array disaggregates monitored variables monitored from each arm. Multiple digital signal processor controllers communicate with each of the each of the submodules.
Abstract: An off-normal bottom-emitting vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) is integrated with a photonic integrated circuit (PIC) for incident light from the VCSEL to efficiently couple to a waveguide via a grating coupler in the PIC. Diffraction of the light by the grating coupler is in a direction that is aligned with an input of the waveguide such that most or all of the light enters the waveguide. The off-normal VCSEL output is achieved by arranging an output facet at a bottom surface of the VCSEL with decentered micro-lenses, micro-prisms, gratings, diffractive optical elements, and/or metasurfaces. The diffractive optical elements or metasurfaces may also be used for beam divergence mitigation and/or polarization control.
Abstract: The subject matter of the present disclosure can be implemented by, among other things, a remote control device configured to receive an identifier, present a plurality of controllable devices for selection on a display of the remote control device, and receive a selection of two or more controllable devices via the user interface. Using the identifier, a session with the two or more controllable devices is generated and performances of a same task by the two or more controllable devices are controlled by the remote control device by transmitting a message containing control information and the identifier to a network service.

Abstract: The technology provides a gateway system that enables satellite communication with user equipment (UE). A system includes multiple gateways, where each gateway includes processing devices, baseband units, a gateway channel routing block, and a set of antennas for communicating with a constellation of orbiting satellites. The gateways include a primary gateway and a diversity gateway. A set of communication links operatively connects the gateways together. A diversity combiner may be operatively coupled to the gateways via one or more of the communication links. The diversity combiner is configured to receive and combine signals from at least two of the gateways. The system is configured to determine when to switch a satellite communication link from the primary gateway to the diversity gateway according to a threshold level of communication requirement based on a status condition of the primary gateway and a status condition of the diversity gateway.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are various embodiments relating generally to a system for lifting water from an aquifer formation by drilling a u-shaped well through the aquifer formation, which comprises a water well screen within the aquifer formation with an inner production string with a series of check valves within the aquifer formation that allow water from the aquifer to flow from the water well screen and into the production string while preventing the water from leaving the production string, and then uses air pressure to force the water through a larger check valve in the production string, so that it may be collected in a surface tank. When not extracting water from the aquifer formation, the system allows treated water to be pumped into the outer casing and back into the aquifer, thereby recharging the aquifer formation with water.

Abstract: A method of lubricating a sheet of material includes moving the sheet along a first direction and operating a print nozzle to deposit a lubricant on the sheet while the sheet is moving along the first direction. The print nozzle ejects the lubricant in a second direction that is transverse to the first direction and toward a first side of the sheet. The method includes charging the lubricant so that the lubricant ejected from the print nozzle is in the form of charged droplets and applying an external electrical field between the print nozzle and the sheet to attract the charged droplets to the sheet.
Abstract: A computer implemented method for determining target data for artificial intelligence is disclosed. In one aspect, the method may include identifying an indication of a target state of a first industrial process or asset, and/or of a second industrial process or asset operatively associated with the first industrial process or asset, and determining target data, based on the identified indication of the target state. The identification of the indication of the target state may be based on first monitoring data indicative of data output from first monitoring data source(s) associated with the first industrial process or asset or with the second industrial process or asset. The target data may be determined from second monitoring data indicative of data output from second monitoring data source(s) associated with the first industrial process or asset.

Abstract: A computing system may obtain text corresponding to a conversation between an outside caller and an agent. The computing system may obtain data associated with the conversation that may be used to determine whether the outside caller is attempting malicious activity or not. The obtained text and data may be provided to a machine learning model to generate a probability score indicative of whether the outside caller is attempting to obtain unauthorized access or attempting other malicious activity. Based on determining that the probability score satisfies a threshold, the computing system may modify a permission (e.g., an API permission) of the agent. The computing system may deny the request to perform the action and may cause display of an indication that the request was successful.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for controlling a ratio of carbon dioxide to oxygen in a grow space by removing O2 from the grow space, and, in some cases, adding supplemental CO2 to the grow space to achieve a desired ratio of CO2 to O2. Various approaches include filtering out oxygen or reacting O2 with a reactant to produce O2-reduced air; and removing air from the grow space, removing nitrogen from the removed air, and (a) separating out CO2 and returning the nitrogen and the CO2 to the grow space, or (b) adding supplemental CO2 and the nitrogen to the grow space. Another approach removes air from the grow space, separates out gasses including N2 and CO2, and returns the N2 or the CO2 to the grow space.
