Abstract: A vehicle system includes a processor and a memory. The memory stores instructions executable by the processor to identify an area of interest from a plurality of areas on a map, to determine that a detected sound is received in a vehicle audio sensor upon determining that a source of the sound is within the area of interest and not another area in the plurality of areas, and to operate the vehicle based at least in part on the detected sound.
Abstract: In 5G, user nodes seeking uplink permission must first transmit a single-bit scheduling request (SR) at a designated time. The base station can provide a first grant for the user to upload a BSR (size) message, and later a second grant to upload a data message. Disclosed are methods in which the SR may be modulated to carry additional information, such as the identity of the transmitting node or the BSR information, thereby avoiding delays and providing rapid uplink access for low-latency applications. The SR resources may be shared by N other user nodes, where N is the number of modulation states, each sharing node having a different assigned modulation. The base station can determine which user node wants to talk according to the timing, frequency, and modulation of the SR. Means for resolving collisions are disclosed.
Abstract: In implementations of the subject matter described herein, a new approach for controlling and tracing an object across a plurality of parties is proposed. A rule set may be enabled by the confirmation of a plurality of parties. The rule set may define constraints on operations related to the object. Upon receipt of a request for an operation related to the object, the requested operation may be verified based on the rule set agreed by the plurality of parties. In response to verifying that requested operation is valid, the requested operation may be performed, and a record for the operation may be created and stored in a blockchain database accessible to the plurality of parties.

The apparatus may also comprise a first support member disposed between the connector body of the first interface module and the backlight assembly.
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed generally toward sailing vessels. One example is a catamaran with one or more pivoting masts per hull member, which may pivot from a generally perpendicular upright position, to a generally flat stowed position toward the bow of the hulls. The masts are capable of sustaining a plurality of sails, which may travel 180 degrees with respect to the hulls.
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed to forecast new product launch sourcing. An example method includes identifying shared attributes between the new product and a plurality of existing products in the target market, calculating theoretical co-penetration values between the attributes shared between the new product and at least one of the plurality of existing products, calculating actual co-penetration values between the attributes shared between the new product and at least one of the plurality of existing products, calculating an attribute distance value between corresponding ones of the theoretical and actual co-penetration values, and calculating a percent volume of the new product expected to be sourced from one of the plurality of existing products based on the attribute distance value.
Abstract: Power management for remote units in a wireless distribution system. Power can be managed for a remote unit configured to power modules and devices that may require more power to operate than power available to the remote unit. For example, the remote unit may be configured to include power-consuming remote unit modules to provide communication services. As another example, the remote unit may be configured to provide power through powered ports in the remote unit to power-consuming devices. Depending on the configuration of the remote unit, the power-consuming remote unit modules and/or power-consuming devices may demand more power than is available at the remote unit. In this instance, the power available at the remote unit can be distributed to the power-consuming modules and devices based on the priority of services desired to be provided by the remote unit.

Abstract: A hosted secrets management transport system and method for managing secrets at one or more offsite locations that facilitates secret flow, secret retrieval, and secret replication. The method includes defining boundaries for two or more sovereignties, each sovereignty having an independent master record and each sovereignty including two or more regions; defining a primary region within the two or more regions; accessing, within the primary region, a master record hardware security module that is a primary source of secrets; defining a second region; accessing, within the second region, a backup record hardware security module that is where data backups of the secrets from the master record hardware security module are created; and executing live replication from the master record hardware security module to the backup record hardware security module in which the live replication that supports multi-tenancy secret management of multiple distinct companies at the same time.
Abstract: Implementations relate to automatic sharing of images with designated users over a communication network. In some implementations, a method includes causing display of images in a user interface on a first device, each of the images depicting a different person. The images are obtained from a library of images associated with a first user. A selection of a particular image of the images is received based on user input, and a person identifier is determined indicating a particular person depicted in the selected image. The person identifier is designated as a person sharing criterion. A first image not included in the images is obtained and programmatically analyzed to determine that the first image depicts a person that matches the person sharing criterion, and an access permission is updated to grant access to the first image to a second user of a second device over a communication network.

Abstract: A system and method for providing customized content recommendations to a user based on extrapolated data is described. The system may receive an answer to a question from a user and determine a second unanswered question having a threshold relationship level with the question. The system may compute a predicted probability that the user would answer the second question correctly, calculate a first comparative skill level of the user among a cohort of similar users, and rank the first comparative skill level of the user against a second comparative skill level of the cohort to determine a skill gap of the user. Further, in some implementations, the system may generate a search query based on the skill gap of the user, and determine recommended content customized to the skill gap of the user.

Abstract: Techniques are described related to for generating/distributing state machines that are implemented within a security zone to obtain private information from one or more resources within the security zone. In various implementations, an automated assistant client implemented by processor(s) within the security zone may receive a free form natural language query (“FFNLQ”) that is answerable using private information available from resource(s) within the security zone. Data indicative of the FFNLQ may be provided to a semantic processor outside of the security zone, and the online semantic processor may return a state machine that is implemented by processor(s) within the security zone to obtain the private information from resource(s) within the security zone. Based on the state machine and the obtained private information, natural language output may be generated and presented to convey information responsive to the FFNLQ.
Abstract: A method is provided for displaying an augmented reality image of account information associated with an indicialess transaction card having a card surface with a background pattern applied thereto. A real-time image of the card surface is captured and processed to determine if the background pattern matches a card background pattern associated with a cardholder account. Responsive to a positive determination, communication is established between the user device processor and a card processor carried by the indicialess transaction card. The user device processor receives from the card processor an encrypted verification block and transmits, to an authentication server, an authentication request including the verification block.

The temperature sensor (22) has a transponder (26) equipped with an antenna (28), and a separate parasitic antenna (32) with a temperature-sensitive transducer (34, 68-74, 78a-84a), while the interrogator (24) has a transmitter (42) and antenna (40). The sensor (22) is designed to be placed in thermal contact with an object to be temperature-measured, with the interrogator (24) placed in proximity to the object. The systems (20) may be used with food servingware domes (88, 114), which can be preheated and placed over a food-bearing plate to maintain the temperature of the food.
