Patent number: 11206393Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are provided for measuring a display latency. A video capturing device is configured to capture a video of a reference light flash of a light emitter of a computing device. In the same video, the video capturing device is configured to capture a flash of a predetermined image displayed in a reference frame on a display screen coupled to the computing device. The video is analyzed to determine a time difference between the reference light flash of the light emitter and the flash of the predetermined image on the display screen. The determined time difference is compared with a reference time difference to determine a display latency, and the display latency may be provided to a user. In this manner, a display latency may be determined accurately and with readily available hardware, thus reducing the need to rely on expensive and specialized measuring equipment.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 2017Date of Patent: December 21, 2021Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Matthew W. Publication number: 20210392366Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and an apparatus for video coding. The apparatus includes processing circuitry that decodes coding information of a current block (CB) from a coded video bitstream. The coding information indicates that the CB is coded with a subblock-based affine motion model including affine parameters that are based on multiple control point motion vectors (MVs) for the CB. The processing circuitry determines, based on the coding information, whether to select a subblock characteristic for generating a prediction for a sample in an affine subblock of the CB based on a corresponding subblock MV. In response to selecting the subblock characteristic, the processing circuitry determines the subblock characteristic based on at least one of the affine parameters. The subblock characteristic indicates one of: (i) a subblock size used for generating the prediction for the sample and (ii) an interpolation filter type for the affine subblock.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2021Publication date: December 16, 2021Applicant: TENCENT AMERICA LLCInventors: Guichun LI, Xiang LI, Xiaozhong XU, Shan LIU

Publication number: 20210386030Abstract: This invention describes a new method to increase grain yields in any crop plant by modifying pollination to effect an increase in grain yield, a change in grain content or characteristics, a decrease in contamination, or a combination of these attributes. The process involves the intentional delivery of pollen of the male plant at will to designated male-sterile female plants as available either in a preserved pollen bank, or real-time collection from male plants as they become available, in a growth chamber for example. Desired pollen is delivered to fertile females. The delivered pollenM is in such amounts and fortuitously timed that it preferentially pollinates the females and pollination from neighboring male-fertile plants. The intentional delivery of genetically different pollen will result in increased heterosis and accompanying grain yield increases resulting from increased grain size and the potential to influence grain content and constituents.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 27, 2021Publication date: December 16, 2021Applicant: Accelerated Ag Technologies, LLCInventors: Jason Cope, Todd Krone, George Singletary
