Abstract: A method and device for facilitating the movement of a number of moving bodies such as trains travelling behind each other in a closed circuit with all the necessary automatic functions such as safety precautions against collision and control of traffic, is arranged by providing an ideal circulation of imaginary moving bodies corresponding to the actual bodies and progressing regularly according to a pre-established programme, each actual moving body being constrained to remain, within limits behind its corresponding imaginary moving body taking into account possible braking requirements, and, in front of the imaginary moving body controlling the next actual moving body.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for producing a control function signal of a given duration for a fuel injection system of an engine in which a word, or number, corresponding to the desired control function is set into a first counter to define a first number of pulses to be counted. The frequency of the pulses applied to the counter is controlled in response to an operating parameter. A second counter counts a second number of the pulses and the two numbers of pulses define two time intervals which are added. A third counter counts a signal representative of the time interval produced by the addition of the two time intervals and a predetermined number of said signals are counted by the third counter to define the duration of the control signal.

Abstract: This invention relates to the production of interferon. In accordance with the present invention, interferon is produced by growing a continuous cell line in a suspension culture, the cells first being primed by cultivation in the presence of interferon specific to the cells and L-glutamine, interferon production being initiated by contacting the cells with a high concentrated suspension of virus inducer, then removing the virus and incubating the cells in a nutrient medium. Concentration and purification to give interferon preparations can be effected by known methods. Various types of interferon preparations of high titre have been produced on an industrial scale.

Abstract: The molybdenum is deposited with at least one transition metal. The support is placed at the cathode and the bath in which this cathode is immersed contains at least one compound of molybdenum and at least one compound of the transition metal. The bath contains a mixture of an alkaline molybdate of a transition metal salt and of an alkaline salt of an organic acid with a mixed acid-alcohol function, this salt being able to give complexes with the molybdenum and transition metal ions of the other constituents. The pH and the temperature of the bath are kept compatible with the stability of these complexes. A cathodic current density greater than a "fissuration threshold" is used and the electro-deposition treatment is carried out for a duration which must be less than a "scaling duration". Each layer of alloy deposited electrolytically on the sub-adjacent support is subjected to heat treatment in a non oxidizing medium at a temperature between 700.degree.C and 1200.degree.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for recording and/or indicating a function of two variables, characterized in that a signal having a value Z which is a function of two variables X and Y is quantified and is then represented in quantified form. The representation in quantified form is effected by projecting a luminous spot on a display area at the point of coordinates (X, Y) wherein the luminosity of the spot represents the quantified form of the value Z.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the production of organic acids by biologically hydrolysing the corresponding nitriles. This process is distinguished by the fact that the nitrile in aqueous solution is subjected to the action of bacteria showing nitrilasic activity, preferably selected from the species: Bacillus, Bacteridium as defined by Prevot, Micrococcus and Brevibacterium as defined by Bergey. The process according to the invention can be used in particular for the production of racemic lactic acid.

Abstract: A pumping system comprising a pumping unit formed by a motor and a pump and adapted to raise a liquid from an underground level to a utilization level, a vaporizable fluid flowing in a closed circuit between a solar evaporator and a condenser, the said motor being disposed in the outgoing branch between the evaporator and the condenser, and a circulator being disposed in the return branch. The motor comprises a motor chamber which is connected by an internal bistable distributor either to the evaporator when said distributor is in an intake state, or to the condenser when said distributor is in an exhaust state, said motor chamber being partly limited by a flexible wall free to move between an intake stroke end position and an exhaust stroke end position, the flexible wall triggering the changes of state of the distributor by reaching its two end positions.

Abstract: The movable window-leaf has an axis of pivotal motion parallel to one side and displaceable in translational motion in a direction parallel to itself, two identical arms being pivotally attached at one end to the two sides located at right angles to said axis and at the other end to the corners of the fixed window-casing. The length of the two arms is at least equal to one-half the length of the sides of the window-casing located at right angles to the pivotal axis so as to permit complete reversal of the window-leaf about the two points of pivotal attachment of the arm to the leaf.

Abstract: The machine comprises a rotary assembly comprising a hollow shaft containing the inductor, a passive screen for protecting the inductor against rapid variations in field due to disturbances in the armature. An auxiliary winding borne by the shaft creates a rotary magnetic field of intensity and frequency such that it completes the compensation of the magnetic fields created by the armature. The machine is useful for synchronous power alternators.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for separating mixtures of hydrocarbons, notably conjugated diene hydrocarbons or aromatic hydrocarbons, from mixtures containing the same, by the general technique of permeation or pervaporation through specific membranes. The specific membranes used are formed of a high polymer comprising functional groups chemically combined by covalent bonding within the polymer forming the said membrane, the said groups possessing a physicochemical affinity, notably a capacity to complex, with respect to one of said hydrocarbons and, substantially, the absence of such a capacity with respect to other hydrocarbons of the mixture. For the separation of dienes, such as butadiene and pentadiene, membranes are used containing active nitrile, pyrrolidone, N-substituted groups, such as N-alkyl groups, preferably N-vinyl or N-methyl-pyrrolidone. The membrane can be obtained, for example, by copolymerization of butadiene with acrylonitrile, with the membrane containing about 2.
